On Monday, President Donald Trump warned that Iran would face serious consequences if the Houthi rebels continue their attack.
The terrorist group that is supported by Iran has attacked American ships and global shipping operations in the Red Sea.
How is Iran connected to Houthi and who supports Iran?
This happened after the US military launched an air strike on Houthi in Yemen on Saturday, killing several Houthi cadres.
Houthi has attacked ships crossing the Red Sea.
They have forced the ships to choose another route, causing delays and other disruptions in global shipping.
The Houthi rebels have controlled three of Yemen's ships, giving the group access to the Red Sea, a key waterway for global trade.
About 10% of global trade crosses this route because the Red Sea route significantly shortens the distance between Asia and Europe.
Houthi gets support from Iran, but what is China's role in this?
China is the largest buyer of Iranian oil, which is Iran's largest source of income.
In 2024, more than 90% of Iranian oil exported to China avoided US sanctions, according to the United Against Nuclear Iron.
Iran then sent some of the oil sales to Houthi.
In addition to oil, China also asked the US to remove sanctions on Iran.
This happened when Trump asked Iran to negotiate an agreement to prevent the country from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Trump said that Iran would soon launch a nuclear bomb.
Tehran said the nuclear program was for peace.
In addition to supporting Iran, the Chinese Communist regime also supports Houthi in other ways.
Chinese and Iranian officials helped the terrorist group obtain the materials needed to launch a missile against the US.
The Department of Finance has given sanctions to three companies and one individual related to this case.
Houthi officials have also spoken to Chinese and Russian officials,
especially to ensure that Houthi militants will not attack Chinese ships anchored in the Red Sea.
China also accepted the Houthi delegation in 2016,
and the Chinese oil service company has signed an agreement with Houthi in 2023.
