It takes all of the Rocket 3 GT's incredible performance, all of its class-leading handling, outstanding technology and laid-back attitude and comfort and adds a new layer of blacked-out style and finish for an even more distinctive and arresting presence. There are just 1,000 of these stunning motorcycles worldwide and for even more exclusivity each comes with a personalized certificate of authenticity. The Rocket 3 GT really is the ultimate high-performance all-day any gear roadster. So what gives this very special triple black edition its sophisticated and purposeful attitude? First up it has this distinctive triple shade black paint scheme and branding enhanced by beautiful unique touches all over the bike. You have this premium crafted carbon fiber front mudguard which is complemented by black anodized fork lowers. The black anodized theme continues across a host of carefully selected components including the yokes, risers and handlebar clamp, the rider footrests, brake and gear pedals and the pillion footrests and hangers. Plus these lovely black anodized and machined bar end mirrors. The headlamp bezels are painted black as are the fly screen finishes, seat finishes and rear bodywork finishes. With the engine the Rocket's 2,500 cc triple is not only the largest production motorcycle engine in the world at 221 newton meters it has the world's highest torque delivery too. Maximum torque arrives at 4,000 rpm and is held all the way through the mid-range giving unparalleled acceleration and effortless riding in any gear. Peak power is a breathtaking 167 ps at 6,000 rpm and again the Rocket engine is tuned to deliver power all the way from a low 3,500 rpm to the redline at 7,000 rpm. The black theme continues with the engine of this limited edition with a black painted finish on the beautiful hydroform three header exhaust run which delivers the new generation Rocket 3's magnificent rich triple engine roar. The exhaust heat shields and end caps are also painted black and the plenum cover has a crinkle black powder coat finish. The Rocket 3 GT also features a high performance six-speed heli-cool cut gearbox and torque assist hydraulic clutch. On the triple black edition the span adjustable clutch lever is black anodized as is the brake lever in keeping with the overall mean and moody theme. Contributing to the Rocket 3's clean uncluttered styling is this beautifully engineered aluminium single-sided swingarm with offset monoshock suspension. Again on this special edition both the swingarm cover and RSU rocker are finished in black for a completely blacked out rear end. The wheels are lightweight multi-spoke cast aluminium and come fitted with Avon Cobra chrome tyres. These have been developed especially for the Rocket 3 with an imposing 240 millimetre rear tyre and deliver exceptional grip and high mileage durability. For the GT triple black edition the rear wheel finisher and bevel box finisher have of course been blacked out too. Adding further to the clean look and muscular feel you have these internally wired touring style handlebars which hide away all of the usual cables and wires. With regard to comfort and seating the Rocket 3 GT comes with sculpted rider and pillion touring saddles and with this triple black edition you get unique black painted cast aluminium finishes under the seat. Seat height is an accessible low 750 millimetres. Now one of the lovely features of the new generation Rocket is its adaptability. For example while the GT comes as standard with this touring rider and pillion seat setup and this aluminium pillion backrest if you prefer a single seat look you can easily change to the same seating setup as the R model by fitting the accessory roadster seat and infill pad. The feet forward foot controls are adjustable too with three horizontal position settings to choose from. The height of the pillion backrest is also adjustable. You can also hide the special editions triple blacks pillion foot pegs thanks to this unique and elegant fold away design. When it comes to handling the Rocket 3 GT is a revelation not only in terms of laid-back comfort and touring ease but also with its genuinely dynamic ride. Triumphs are renowned for their handling and the GT is no exception. It's agile precise and responsive and goes exactly where you want it to unlike some of your more traditional cruisers. The GT has a lightweight aluminium frame and a very high specification of equipment. On the rear there's a fully adjustable Showa monoshock RSU with a piggyback reservoir while up front the upside down Showa cartridge front forks are adjustable for compression and rebound damping. The brakes are Brembo's top specification road-going radial monoblock calipers Brembo Stylemas with twin floating discs. These cutting edge calipers are a lightweight and compact design with optimised airflow for efficient cooling and further highlighting the incredible specification of this bike at the rear is a four piston monoblock caliper and 300 millimetre disc. The Rocket 3 also comes with Triumph's optimised cornering ABS and traction control as standard. These are controlled by a sophisticated inertial measurement unit which measures the roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates of the bike in order to calculate the lean angle and optimise braking and traction control accordingly. The instruments are full colour TFT with two information layout themes that can be personalised and are angle adjustable. The TFT system has the myTriumph connectivity system software already installed and enabled, set up and ready to be used with an accessory fit Bluetooth module. This gives you GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation via the switch cubes all displayed on the TFT screen. There are four riding modes to choose from, rain, road, sport and rider configurable, all of which can be easily changed while on the move via the illuminated switch cubes. The riding modes adjust the throttle response and traction control settings to suit rider preference and riding conditions. For low energy consumption, increased durability and greater safety visibility, the Rocket 3 GT has all LED lighting including this twin LED headlight, this beautifully shaped tail light, the indicators and the number plate light. Dependent on the market, the headlights also incorporate these signature shaped LED daytime running lights, increasing rider visibility to other road users. As standard, the Rocket comes equipped with hill hold control, cruise control, keyless ignition and keyless steering lock and a USB charging socket.
