Welcome back to the vlog, you guys.
So we have been doing some super fun science experiments lately.
Emery chose this book.
It's a science book that she got at the book fair and she's been wanting to do a
couple of these every single day.
And are they so cool?
Well, I'd like to do it.
Wait, let Bubby see.
He hasn't seen.
Do it slow.
Whoa.
All that takes is water, pepper, and some soap.
Was that cool?
Who wants to do it again?
Okay, Lincoln, it's your turn, bud.
Here, Link, dip it in.
Put it in the water.
Is that cool?
Next experiment.
Who wants to do another one?
Dad's been good to do them with her though, huh?
Next up, surface tension, milk, food coloring.
We've got some purple and we've got some green, soap, food
coloring.
Let's see what happens.
You just dip it in.
We'll see if it works.
Oh, leave it in there.
Oh, leave it in.
Well, that didn't really do anything.
I think you need like 2% milk.
No, I think you need food coloring that's not thick.
All right.
That one was a fail because we used this thicker food coloring and you need like
literally the drops.
So we're going to try it again, but the only colors I have is black and brown.
So not so fun and pretty, but we're going to try it.
Black and brown.
It'll still be cool though.
Oh, well try mixing it.
Let's try mixing it.
Okay.
Cool guys.
That was awesome.
Cool.
Did you guys like it?
And we've got peach here today, everyone.
Princess peach has arrived in the castle.
No, give us a smile.
Princess peach, a princess peach smile.
Beautiful.
Who are you today?
Moana.
You didn't get into it again.
Who are you?
Ariel?
Oh, you're beautiful.
Picking your nose.
Who are you?
Monster truck and Spider-Man.
Spider-Man.
What was the first one you did?
We had slime, and then when we pinced it, it was what we had, and then when we put it, it seeped.
Yep.
We'll show you some videos on that, but that one was cool too.
Now put your hands in slow.
That's crazy.
That's so weird.
Ew.
How does it do that?
What'd you mix it with?
For the slime one, if you are wanting to make it at home, it's two cups corn starch, one cup water, and then whatever color of food coloring you want it to be.
It's funny because when she wanted this book at the book fair, I did not want her to get it because that meant I had to do all the work, you know?
But instead, Cory's been doing it awesome.
Win-win.
And I thought these ideas would be fun for you guys with your kids.
So, um.
So yesterday we did this one where it made rainbow paper.
Huh, Em?
Yeah.
That one was pretty cool.
If you're wanting to make this rainbow paper one, all you need is a one drop of clear nail polish in a bowl of water, and then it prefers like black paper, but this is all we had, but it worked too.
And then dip that into it after, and it sticks to it like that.
All right.
The next one we are doing jumping pepper.
Cory's got the pepper in the container.
Lit on.
Are you guys ready?
Okay.
Is it wool?
Cool.
That must not be wool.
Where you have to rub for a long time.
Cory said it was starting to go up on the, oh yeah, it was starting to go up on the lid.
But we need a see-through lid.
Take two.
I don't know, actually.
I feel like we should know that.
What's wool?
We're dumb and we don't know exactly what fabric.
I think this is wool.
Nope.
Sit.
Watch.
No.
Stand on your bum.
Watch.
Should we see if it works?
No, maybe this ain't wool either.
Cool.
You guys, that was awesome.
We did it.
Emmy's shoe, her slipper has wool on it and the pepper is moving up.
All right.
I don't know if you can tell very good on the camera.
Watch.
The pepper will jump, but you can't see this one very good on camera, but, oh,
look at the pepper.
Did you see that?
It's all going up.
That's cool.
Did you guys see it?
Okay, let's try again.
Ready?
Moves up.
It's still moving.
Look at the pepper.
They're jumping.
It's like they're alive.
Is that cool?
The pepper is alive.
What I found we were doing wrong.
You need a shallow bin, preferably one though, that is see-through all the way
around.
You have to have a see-through lid and wool, actual wool and rub it and it works.
Was that cool?
That is called a static electricity.
So one other thing you do, you rub it first.
Wait, let's do this first.
You got to rub it.
Get all the pepper to start jumping up and moving.
Okay.
Stop.
It's moving.
The pepper's moving in there.
See it?
And then use the paper clip gently though.
And it pushes it all back down.
Now we are just getting ready to eat Emmy's favorite Sunday dinner.
Got the rolls, gravy, roast, and the potatoes and all the many helpers.
Hi, Dances.
Today we are doing water pets.
Those look so cool.
You put this gel in and then you put it in the water and it makes a cool little water pet.
Here Zoe.
You want to hold it?
Zoe doesn't like how it feels.
This is Lincoln's dinosaur.
Do you like it?
So this one's actually not something that you just make up.
Well, you could probably make it at home.
I don't know how though, but it's this water pets kit that you buy and you just mix these
little pebbles with water and then it comes with all the stuff and you can make a bunch
of different cool little animals.
And then you can keep them alive.
You just put water in a container and keep them in there and they'll stay alive.
Although this one like broke.
I don't think this one set up long enough.
I know.
Oh my gosh, there's a lot.
Do you want to hold one, Zoe?
I don't want to hold one.
Are you holding yours, Lex?
Okay.
Let me see yours.
What do you got?
You got a unicorn?
So just made Shrinky Dinks.
I don't know if you had those growing up, but I had them growing up.
Emery got some for Christmas and they are so fun to make.
You just color on this sheet of paper with like marker or with colored pencil and then
put it in the oven and you get to watch them shrink.
So cool.
Paul coming at Emmy to make another one.
I put them in these little containers so that they can just have them around with a really
tight lid so that they can't open it.
Let's see yours.
What is it?
So you got a unicorn and a duck?
That is really cool.
Is that for Lexi?
And you want a dinosaur?
Okay, another dinosaur.
Let's see.
That is so cool.
Can you guys say thank you, Emmy?
No, I'm telling them to say thank you to you because you made them all.
All right, guys, that is it for today's vlog.
We'll see you guys next time.
Say bye.
