When they had come to-geth-er,
they asked Je-sus, say-ing, “Lord,
will You at this time re-store the king-dom to Is-ra-el?”
And He said un-to them,
“It is not for you to know the times or the sea-sons
which the Fa-ther has put in His own au-thor-i-ty.
But you shall re-ceive pow-er
when the Ho-ly Ghost has come up-on you;
and you shall be wit-ness-es
to Me in Je-ru-sa-lem,
and in all Ju-de-a
and Sa-mar-i-a,
and to the end of the earth.”
Now when He had spo-ken these things, while they watched,
He was tak-en up,
and a cloud re-ceived Him out of their sight.
And while they looked stead-fast-ly
toward heaven as He went up,
be-hold,
two men stood by them in white ap-par-el,
who al-so said,
“Men of Gal-i-lee,
why do you stand gaz-ing up in-to heaven?
This same Je-sus,
Who was tak-en up from you in-to heav-en,
will so come in like man-ner as you saw Him go in-to heav-en.”
