Palazzo Gangi Valguarnera "Royal Palace of the Leopard" #Palermo "Visit-Photo-Video"
It was built in the first half of the 18th century and completed around 1780 by Prince Pietro di Valguarnera. For the vastness of the architectural layout, for the quality and richness of the decorative apparatus, as well as for the fact that it has arrived on the threshold of the 21st century practically intact, Palazzo Valguarnera is not only unique in the Sicilian panorama, but also a high point of the Italian Rococo.
Inside you can admire: the Hall of Honor, with its ceiling painted by Elia Interguglielmi in 1792 where the "Glory of the virtuous prince" is represented; the Hall of Mirrors, with its double ceiling, which allows you to glimpse, through the openings created in the lower false ceiling, the large central fresco; the Yellow Hall where the “Triumph of the virtues necessary for the prince” was frescoed, painted by Gaspare Serenario in 1754.
The palace inspired the director Luchino Visconti for the setting of the famous ball scene in the film Il Gattopardo, based on the novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.
Finally, in July 2017 it also inspired Dolce and Gabbana #DGLovesPalermo with Alta Gioielleria Donna, Alta Moda Donna.
