Thanks for watching: Why you SHOULD watch MONSTER
Why should you watch?
Before we answer that question, let's give you an understanding of what a monster is.
No, it's not about a big, giant, fluffy monster with those things that kids are hiding from in their closets,
but more a blond-haired man who goes on a psychotic killing spree,
getting Tinma, a man who saved his life, accused of being a murderer.
Yeah, it gets pretty dark.
But we follow Tinma as he runs away from the police and a man with a twitch,
to sort of prove his innocence, kind of.
And with Madhouse wanting to make this show as accurate to the manga as possible,
extended the show to 74 episodes.
For the most part, this is a thriller mystery moving from episode to episode as the plot slowly unravels.
But what makes this show stand out from other crime thrillers,
and gain the praise it has, are insults in return to why should you watch this show.
And the short answer to that is this show has one of the most unique and kind of,
almost off-putting at times, sort of storytelling that I have witnessed,
seeming to fold into multiple character stories into one.
And while it does follow Tinma, it soon fears off to tell other character stories,
and then goes full circle and connects to the main story,
and reveals important aspects to the plot.
And with this, it allows for each character introduced to get their own story in depth to who they are,
and everyone we run into has flaws that make them relatable in society.
It is a very grounded cast, from a bitchy and annoying ex-girlfriend who is an alcoholic,
to a ginger with no soul wanting a home.
And the villain being the probably least relatable yet,
is someone who seems to form the darkness that is in society.
He is the darkness and the hate that plagues the world,
being someone you rarely see, being someone that is always in the shadows.
And that is the tone the show sets for the most part,
a show of emptiness and hopelessness that is everywhere.
We will all die alone crying in a corner, but it never gets really edgy.
Seeming having the contrasting appeal being the characters that follow Tinma,
and they attempt to help people in the world, and also offer support.
But the serious tone is very exemplified by the excellent directing, art, and music,
building the darkness and tension and plot twists that will come along with the show.
And yes, this is a brutal show that does depict torture, murder, and suck.
You get nervous as an archer, and in the response of this ambition,
the service seems to be happening inside us!
Inside us!
But Monster as a whole is one of the most in-depth and thorough crime thrillers out there.
And if you're tired of one-off episodes of CSI Miami,
Well I say, jackpot.
and want something with intriguing and realistic characters, then this is the show for you.
One of the best crime thriller and shows out there, even outside of anime.
But there are a few things that might affect one's viewing experience.
That is, it's kind of an older show, it's 4x3 ratio and looks somewhat older.
It's also very, very slow paced.
And if you're looking for an action-packed crime thriller like Psycho-Pass or CSI Miami,
then this will let you down a little bit.
But if you love yourself some psychotic killers, a slow building story with a payoff to match,
and psychotic kids books, then this is why you should watch the anime Monster.
And that is it for this video.
This will probably be a new way I'm trying to go about reviewing different shows and video games.
And right now I'm more in a testing phase on the channel,
seeing what I feel more comfortable with and what videos really do well.
And say this video does do well, then I'll probably make all of these videos more in-depth,
or certain ones more in-depth.
So tell me what you thought of this video, and also what you thought of Monster if you might watch it now.
Otherwise, my name is Arkane Keyblade, and I will see you all next time.
Peace out.
