@prattprattpratt hopes that the stories told in military projects like the @terminallistpv reflect the real-life experiences of servicemen and women. #FallonTonight
Our audience is full of servicemen and women here.
Fleet Week here in New York City.
Oh!
Yeah.
Yeah!
What a week to be here.
You are, you played a few different military characters
in the past.
You were a Navy SEAL in Zero Dark Thirty.
You have that there.
Yes.
Yeah.
You were a Green Beret in The Tomorrow War.
Yeah.
There you go.
You starred in and produced the hit Amazon series,
The Terminal List, where you play, again, a Navy SEAL.
Yes.
Now, when you do projects like these,
what kind of feedback do you get from the military community?
And are you ready for some feedback tonight?
No.
Well, it's funny, you know.
First of all, I hope it comes through
the whole creative team behind The Terminal List
and through these movies.
We have the utmost respect for our men and women in uniform.
So please, just like, I'm so pumped that it's Fleet Week.
Give yourselves a round of applause.
Yeah.
For having them.
It's so good.
It'll make you feel good to see everybody out there.
So good.
My hat is off to you.
Everything I know about combat, I
learned from watching TV and watching movies.
And so it was funny, because my roommate, who's
now my producing partner on The Terminal List,
a former Navy SEAL, he used to pick things apart.
And he would see things that I just didn't
know that I didn't know.
You know, like, I always assume when something
explodes behind you, you just walk away.
You don't even flinch.
Everything I know is from watching it on screen.
Rambo.
That's right, Rambo.
Yeah, you just walk away.
That's real.
And so a big part of The Terminal List
was to really take the time.
And it was hiring this trifecta of former spec
op special operators to oversee all of the military action
to make sure that authenticity was the North Star.
So a lot of the times, the feedback that I'll get from,
you know, people in uniform is they'll say,
thank you for, like, caring enough to try to get it right.
The little things that you and I might not notice,
they notice when they watch these types of movies.
And so it's always, like, it feels like a pat on the back
when I hear that from them.
