do you want to know the truth about
Stanley dong the 4.4 GPA 1590 sat kid
who got rejected from all of these
colleges but got hired by Google well I
got some more information on it so stay
tuned everybody hit that like button and
check out other episodes of the hot pop
boys as I break this down roll the clip
you may recall the ABC7 story that went
viral 16 months ago a palao teen hired
straight out of high school by Google as
a PhD level software engineer yet he was
rejected by most colleges he applied to
including five UC campuses even with a
4.4 GPA and a 1590 out of 1600 on the
SATs some of them were certainly
expected you know Stanford MIT you know
it's it is what it is right but yeah for
some of them like
calply uh some of the state schools I
really thought you know I had a good
chance so this case has been talked
about for for about a year now and I
feel like the sentiment of the comment
section from what I can tell is focusing
a little bit more on the fact that
Stanley's father does work at Google so
they assume that his job that he got at
Google was due to nepotism now while
that might have not hurt that his father
worked at Google I'm not sure if it's
nepotism and I'm going to talk about why
but can Stanley Tong be benefiting from
nepotism at Google while also being
discriminated by
all these different colleges including
even ones that he should have got into
so I'm going to break this down guys
let's watch more of this clip first of
all um in addition to Stanley there a
lot of other Asian-American students um
who actually contacted us about their
College admission stories how they're
rejected by UC despite their outstanding
qualification similar to Stanley's so
that is evidence number one and evidence
number two that we have um collected
evidence that UC is using race in clear
violation of the law in faculty hiring
and to the degree they actually not it's
not only using it but they're also
knowing it's illegal they're also hiding
the evidence of using it so that's
evidence number two evidence number
three we also look at some of limited
available public data and there's a
clear suppression of Asian enrollment
despite the strong population growth um
in Asian community in
cforia you know just because even if you
could prove that in faculty hiring there
is racial
consideration can you necessarily draw a
straight line to emissions that is a
totally different process right that is
a process we need to P out in the court
um but the logic we're going after is
that hey these guys know what they're
doing and they know it's illegal and
they're actively concealing it so it's
likely we're not going to find anything
that can put on paper saying we're going
to do this but um we have seen this
playing out in faculty hiring and we are
making the uh allegation that they
they're probably doing that in student
ad Mission as well because these two are
closely related some people might look
at this and say look Stanley is working
at Google making good money uh with a
dream job that top university graduates
aspire to why does he want to be a part
of this and and for you some critics
might be why are you not letting this
go there's a bigger story here um first
of all I think the story is bigger than
Stanley himself and bigger than myself
for sure and uh what we're trying to get
out of this is a fair treat of Asian
applicants going forward um including my
a kids and my future grandkids I mean
look at all these colleges he got
rejected from University of Washington
that's my alma Mo there's no way Stanley
shouldn't have gotten into there uh Cal
Poly are you kidding me UCSB Santa
Barbara that's like the beachy UC um he
didn't get into University of Michigan
University of
Wisconsin I wonder if some of these
schools rejected him just on the basis
that
they just assumed he was going to get
into a better College yes Stanford even
sure I could understand so hard but
UCSD come on anyways guys uh let's talk
about this because I did some deep dive
Research into Stanley Tong I went on his
LinkedIn which I'm assuming has a lot of
the same information as his college
application so I'm going to be sharing
that with you in a second but yeah I
mean he also aside from his 4.4 uh GPA
which he got at a very very competitive
High School school he also got 1590 on
his SATs out of, 1600 these are
incredible stats right um at my school
for example growing up my public high
school you could not even get Beyond a
4.0 I believe um he also founded a
document signing startup called rabbit
sign you know what I mean um and also
let me just go through Stanley's
LinkedIn real quick because this was
also on his college resume I'm assuming
you know what I mean I don't know what
he said in his personal essay but this
is all the stuff that was probably also
listed for his college look 2021 USA
Computing Olympiad Platinum division did
you understand I can look's look at the
divisions right here bronze silver gold
Platinum it's the top one in 2021 this
is all in high school Google code Jam
2021
semifinalist I mean what was that
nepotism that helped him code yeah I
mean his dad works at Google great I
don't know if necessarily gets him the
job automatically either you still got
to be somewhat qualified okay MIT battle
code 2023 number one US high school
team okay and then 2023 I believe this
was still in while he was in high school
he placed third place in Picto CTF at
Carnegie melon University that's a cyber
security competition guys Stanley is the
human AI he is the one he's programmed
AI I don't understand how these schools
rejected him based off this alone now I
don't know what his essay was like he
didn't release that but maybe his
personal essay just wrote get me in here
everybody else sucks if he wrote that
sure I could see them getting rejected
but other than that I don't get it so
real quick um obviously him and his
father are suing the University of
California school system um but since
1996
proposition uh there's a proposition in
1996 that said UC schools are officially
outlawed from using race-based
admissions right and Stanley's lawsuit
is saying no no no no no they are still
discriminating against asian-americans
and I do want to say that there are
actually other multiple lawsuits against
the UC system over the years in 2018
Asian-American Advocates versus the UC
system okay and then 2020 there's the
famous students for fair admissions
versus the University of California
recently in 2025 this year there's also
a group called students against racial
discrimination I don't know if that's
the same lawsuit as Stanley but
basically there's a lot of lawsuits
against the UC saying hey guys like I
know that it's technically
illlegal to do race based admissions but
somehow we're getting shafted here so
anyways let's get into the comments
section um a lot of people are focusing
on uh Stanley's job at Google so if you
just base it off his experience in high
school and all the Computing and coding
competitions he was
in I'm not sure if getting the job at
Google was fully nepotism I don't think
it hurt that his dad worked there he's
just a software engineer manager he's
not seite he's not up in the the
executives he he doesn't know Sergey
Bren or whatever the you know the Google
people you don't know those people maybe
but uh he is a manager sure engineer um
but I think more so that just helped he
was able to help Stanley get into
engineering you know obviously if your
dad is an NBA player what are the
chances is you're going to become a good
basketball player well the chances are
high makes sense right so anyways there
are uh against the accusations of
nepotism somebody said dude unless his
dad is like some SE sweet member I don't
think it was nepotism um somebody said
yeah you have to be high up on the chart
for you know people to bend over
backwards for you so I think while
helped at the end of the day Stanley was
qualified to get the job at goog I do
not really think it was nepotism but
there's also people who do they're like
listen the father was a manager at
Google what like isn't the irony that
this nepo baby can't handle being
rejected he's just complaining he's so
entitled um but again you guys decide
for yourself I'm just saying based off
of Stanley's LinkedIn which I'm assuming
is similar to his college application
that it probably wasn't nepotism um
somebody says Stanley deserves to sue
them he's a top candidate a lot of
people are cheering for Stanley uh and
then some people are kind of like hey
Asians were fighting to end affirmative
action how's that working out right guys
it is true that it is debatable right
now um if the ending of affirmative
action is clearly boosting Asian numbers
in colleges and letting all the
qualified Asians in I'm not sure it's
very early on to tell but it is
debatable um but yeah and then some
other people who say they work in the
college ADM
uh side of things they say you know uh
maybe it was his ability his inability
to write a good personal narrative about
his
extracurriculars um he you know PE
colleges are not just looking at the
numbers and the test scores they want to
see something more they want to see a
good college essay and I'm like again he
has so many extracurriculars he has all
these competitions now I mean do those
countless extracurriculars could he have
thrown in a sport should he have also
done like 10
or like chess club or something I guess
but dude to get in the University of
Washington to get into the University of
Wisconsin we're not talking about
Harvard and Stanford I'm talking about
UC Santa Barbara they got a lot of abgs
at that school so anyways and UCSD also
good amount of abgs he couldn't get into
a school full of abgs I think he could
anyways it's no diss on ABG I'm just
saying there's a lot of smart ABS out
there there are a lot of Pharmacists um
but anyways um I guess like after
looking into the case you know um at
first even I was getting tricked by the
nepotism ideas where I was like yeah
Stanley your dad is a software engineer
manager at Google that means you just
got the job at Google and then I look at
his accolades and all the competitions
that he competed in not his father but
he did and I'm
like I don't know I don't know if him
getting the job at Google was maybe it
was like 10 15% it probably got him a
little boost on his application but like
ultimately he has to do the
work like this is not one of those
marketing positions for Google this is
not like a product uh marketing
assistant executive where you can shove
in like your niece into that role that's
slightly underqualified or your nephew
into that role that's slightly
underqualified like these are hard
Computing jobs so he clearly has to
qualify and it will be very clear if he
is underqualified for this job so the
job at Google I think is warranted so
far based off what I could see College
admissions it's kind of boggling it
baffles me I don't know it's almost so
baffling I almost don't know if it's
because he's Asian I get that that is
probably the idea that like I don't know
but like maybe these schools just like
maybe the University of Wisconsin was
like oh yeah we don't really have like a
good enough computer science program for
this kid I don't know how they that's
not how they talk in Wisconsin but like
like like or University of Washington
that's where I went it was like well uh
Stanley this Stanley kid I mean he's a
sure is a whiz K whiz kid at coding you
know he probably belongs in Stanford or
at least Berkeley you know but uh you
know we're not even going to waste an
admission on him just just go there
Stanley he'll get into one of those so
I'm not really sure or maybe he said
some racist stuff on his essay
oh
Stanley is that what gu you
rejected I'm just kidding but like how
funny would that be if he said
some cancelable stuff in his personal
essay yeah I don't get it guys so this
is the truth you know um I actually
don't have a final answer but I do have
some of more Stanley's accolades man he
wasn't just a SAT score and he's not
just a GPA bro we're talking about
multiple cyber security competitions
battle code code Jam Computing
Olympiad doing a
startup rabbit sign whatever docu sign
whatever it is you know what I mean um
and by the
way to really drive a lawsuit this long
I want you to know it costs money it
cost cost money now even if his dad
makes a good amount of money in the Bay
Area like you know how much money it
costs to just live in the Bay Area at
their level in their neighborhood and
you know so and to spend that money also
on the lawyers for this long to have
this lawsuit going on this long it costs
a lot of money a lot like we're talking
like maybe a hundred thousand hundreds
of thousands of dollars possibly
depending on how long AG goes so um yeah
I guess I wonder I I I am still it's
funny cuz I looked more into it and I'm
baffled on why he got rejected still cuz
he got the acolytes he got the
experience I think he deserves his job
at Google he definitely deserved to get
into some of those schools that rejected
him and uh yeah I mean like his dad said
there's a lot of other Asian students
have a similar story so apparently it's
common to have Asian students get
rejected lot Asians getting rejected
what's new anyways guys uh let me know
what you think in the comments down
below um you know I don't know what's
going to happen with the lawsuit but
it's interesting a lot of people talking
about it because it is also going to set
the stage for a lot of other Asian
students that feel like they get
rejected but how come other Stu types of
students don't feel like they get
rejected nobody else makes a fuss about
getting rejected but Asians is it
because we are wrongfully getting
rejected or we're just the only ones
that complain about
it let me know in the comments down
below hit that like button and until
next time I'm out peace
