Today we're taking you on a tour of a Regency style townhouse inspired by
renowned architect John Nash. By the end of the video I want you to work out
whereabouts in the country we are. I'm gonna be dropping hints all the way
throughout the video so leave your comments now and let's get started with
the tour. Your first clue on the location of this house is the price tag. The home
is listed for two million pounds with fine and country. We're gonna start the
tour on this exterior courtyard so it kind of acts as a driveway at the rear
of the property. We've got this feature fountain in the middle, definitely feels
like a little slice of the Mediterranean when you're out here. And then we have a
view back to that beautiful John Nash inspired architecture of the townhouse.
Now let's head on in and start the tour.
Welcome inside. We've got two access points to the home, one for the front and
then one for the back. Come on in. We've got just under 6,000 square feet to show
you today, split across five different floors and already here in the entrance
hall we can see so many period features. We've got the original spindles here on
the stairs, the cornicing, ceiling detail and where those details weren't able to
be restored the home continues to pay homage to its original heritage, the
Victorian heritage, like this tiling here. Beautifully leading us on through into
the kitchen. Come on through. We've now switched to a herringbone parquet
flooring for this kitchen and dining space and the really warm rich tones of
the wood plays so nicely with the ornate cornicing you can see around the
room. It's original cornicing which has since been painted gold, tying in with
all of the brass antique style touches, very elegant interior design through
here and against the backdrop of the white walls and the white units of the
kitchen it really allows it to just pop and stand out that bit more. It's a real
timeless design, the old and the new together create a design that just
stands the test of time. We've got a shaker style kitchen, all the kitchen
cabinetry and units are from Harvey Jones. The kitchen countertops are quartz
and over here on the island we've got this beautiful coving detail that makes
the central island just feel that bit more elegant. This is the perfect
combination of the old and the new coming together, this Belfast sink here
with a brand new Kuka hot water boiling tap and the appliances in the kitchen of
course are up-to-date, modern living, you need your American style fridge freezer.
We've also got a 200 bottle wine cooler over there, Fisher & Paykel, super high
end, but this definitely has more of a traditional appearance. It's a La Cornue
oven, wow, it's even got the pot filler here with an antique style splash back
just behind. We've got floor-to-ceiling bay windows so loads of natural light
comes in, we've got a view out to the courtyard there. One of the things I love
about these period homes is the dimensions, you do not get spaces this
size in anything new build, especially in the city and it also allows you to have
such large features, like this kitchen island in a lot of people's kitchens I
think would make it look very very small, but the dimensions here, the ceiling
heights, the space, it really works and I said about the kitchen design, Harvey
Jones, look at that, even the spoons, I like that ornate design in the brass and I love how
even inside of the drawers it all just looks so neat and bespoke and now we're
walking into the dining room. The parquet flooring continues through here, it's a
real open plan space but this still feels very traditional, I can imagine
Christmas is here, hosting dinner parties, this is a perfect space and we've also
got a feature fire surround there and a dark wood that matches this table and
the chairs perfectly. So coming back through the entrance hall we've actually
got a bedroom on this ground floor, let's come through. Now with this room being on
the ground floor I would consider turning this into a study, it's a six
bedroom home so I'm not sure I'd need the extra one but I know the current
owners actually use this for photo shoots and hire out to wedding parties
so to have the extra bed, definitely very useful but it could be used for a
variety of different functions. As it is the room has its original feature
fireplace, a freestanding bath in the corner there, a bay window looking out
and then the bed in the centre. Finally on the ground floor we have this
beautiful terrace and a look back to the house, just below me we have the entrance
to the front of the property but what an incredible space this is whether it's
for entertaining company or for just lounging in the summer, this gets some
great Sun in the mornings but now let's head up to the first floor, come on.
So the first floor landing and then the entrance hall downstairs both share a
view to this leaded window, it's a real spacious landing but I'm going to take
you now into my favourite room in the entire house. Now how about this for an
entrance into a room, this is the first floor principal sitting room and I think
this room has the most impressive and beautiful detail throughout the whole
house, from the cornicing all the way around the room, the border that we've
got, the ornate border and then we've got a ceiling rose up above the chandelier
panelling on all four walls, we've even got the exposed pipe work for these
radiators here so it really does feel really Victorian and the best part of
this room for me has to be this marble fireplace with the intricate surround
really replicating the attention to detail that we see in all of the other
period features in here. And then finally in this room we have this
beautiful bay window with northwesterly views over the city, now I haven't revealed
where we are yet and if you can work it out from the view and the skyline there
I'd be very very impressed but if you want to find out keep watching to the
end of the video. Now we're back here on the landing we've got two bedrooms on
this floor so let's go into the principal. Now the interiors in this
bedroom are very calming, very soft, we've got floral patterns whether that be on
the rug here, the pillows on the bed, the bench seat in the bay window, the
dresser or even the panelling and the fireplace here we've got a long burning
stove in there so you know this room would be super cozy at night. It just feels
like a bit of a retreat now, let me take you into the bathroom, come on through.
Now the floral design definitely continues on into this bathroom with
these tiles, certainly a Victorian influence, that floral design is then
carried on onto this wallpaper. Behind the vanity unit now I love that they've
taken this side table and converted it to house the basins, it's perfect it looks
so much more characterful than it would if it was like a you know modern
bathroom unit. I love that we've got the marble on the top as well and that is
reflected here in the shower, very much a walk-in shower, feels like a wet room in
here and the flooring is sort of tactically sloped so that all the water
does then drain into that corner. We've got Victorian style radiators in here and then
a freestanding bath, slightly more contemporary take, and then we have this
traditional old Burlington toilet with the pool chain.
Now in the second bedroom on this floor it definitely feels a little bit more
feminine in here, we've got the pastel pink on the walls, the original fireplace,
we've got the copper roll-top freestanding bath in that bay window
there with the shutters. Each bedroom definitely has that kind of hotel feel
to it, although you haven't got the en-suite, it kind of still works as a suite
because you've got the bathroom and the bed. You can definitely see why this works
well for parties, bridal parties etc. Now up here on the second floor we're
definitely set up to entertain. We've got what is essentially like a self-contained
apartment, we've got a full kitchen around the corner here with gas hob,
appliances, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, so if you have teens or you know maybe
older relatives this will be a perfect little self-contained apartment for them
and then up above there's actually a perfect little reading area, mezzanine
and access to the loft for storage. There's even been planning permission
granted to turn a roof section into a terrace. We've actually got another
double bedroom on this floor as well as a bathroom just around the corner and
now I think I'm gonna break, here we go.
I think I just bottled the white. Down on the basement level where we have two
further bedrooms, we've got one just around the corner and then this bedroom
here, this one actually has its own en suite with a walk-in shower, a feature
fireplace and some unique pieces of art too. Now that brings us to the end of the
video. If you haven't worked it out already, the house is in Nottingham so
you're definitely getting a lot more value for your money than you would if
this home was in London. Thanks for watching through into the very end, we
really appreciate it and I'll see you in the next video. Cheers!
