So many people have asked what happened that day, and I’ve gone back and forth on whether to share it. It’s not easy to put into words, but I want to. I want to share what it’s really like.

Losing our home has been a heartbreak I can’t quite describe. The day it happened feels like a blur—sirens, smoke, and the gut-wrenching realization that everything we built was gone. At first, the adrenaline carried us through—planning, hoping, checking in on neighbors. But when the flames died, reality set in.

No one talks about the in-between. The part after the fire is out, when the world moves on, but you’re left standing in the ashes, trying to figure out what comes next. The place where everything is shattered, but you’re expected to just keep going.

Our memories, our space, the little things we never thought we’d lose— all turned to ash. The hardest part is waking up each day, not knowing where to start, feeling the weight of rebuilding a life that no longer looks the same.

But we’re holding on. Grateful for safety, for community, for the love that surrounds us. And somehow, step by step, we’ll find our way through this. ❤️‍🩹
