The east wind at night sets a thousand blooms afloat, and scatters stars like rain. Precious horses and ornate carriages fill the fragrant streets. Phoenix flutes echo, the jade kettle’s light circles round, and fish-dragons whirl in a night of dance.

Moths, snow willows, golden threads—laughter fills the air, drifting away in soft perfume. Amidst the crowd I sought him a thousand times; suddenly I turned, and there he was, at the edge of the lanterns’ glow.
