Now we're ready for bed and I'm gonna wake up 33!
How's it going everybody? I'm Nikki Delventhal and this is my dog Camper Delventhal.
Seriously? We live in a 2006 Toyota Prius and we're here to take you along on the wild ride.
So fasten up your seat belts and let's have some fun.
Don't forget if you like what you see, like, subscribe, comment,
share with your friends and turn on notifications. Camper and I would be so thankful.
In last week's episode, Camper and I spend the week in the middle of the desert in California,
rock scrambling to all the highest peaks, doing yoga in the sun, eating delicious foods,
and so much more. While there, as we hoped, we even met a group of climbers who invited us to
join them scaling all of the walls. It was a blast, though it started to get a little too
cold for our liking. I'm not gonna lie guys, it's really cold. So we decided it was time to follow
the good weather. After we caffeinate. Kind of sounds like someone peeing. So now we have removed
the scrunchie.
Medicinal kind. Also mixed with vodka. Guys, I don't drink so that one's, I don't know, nevermind.
Tastes different but I like it. All right camp, here we go. So it is my birthday in two days
and I really want to spend it somewhere where it's going to be perfect weather and it ends up
that is Joshua Tree. We're heading to Joshua Tree National Park. And our new friends would be joining
us there. But first, preparations for another week off-grid. Today that will include uploading a video,
laundry day, and a truck stop shower. All right, shower time. Finished our shower just in time for
sunset. Okay, that took a little longer than expected, so we're gonna sleep at the truck
stop tonight and continue birthday preparations tomorrow. Night mister, I love you. I slept on
top of a book. For real? Good morning flying J. Oh, that's the first time I've said that.
Morning camper. Okay, I'm coming in. I'm coming. I'm coming. You ready to have some fun?
You guys, look at this. Oh, this is fun. Do I eat it? Do I drink it? Oh my god, it's not even my birthday
yet and someone made me coffee. You smell that? That is coffee, mister. That is not your breakfast.
That is mommy's. I will make you breakfast. Dude. I love friends. I love good friends.
Happy birthday to me a day early. Eggs and avocado for sure. After breakfast, we changed, prepped the
car, and then hit the road to go run a few errands while our friends went to Joshua Tree
bright and early to hold down one of their first come first serve spots. First stop was at the UPS
store in Yucca. At this location, for five dollars a package, they will hold them in the store for
you for up to two weeks. We're gonna open our packages. Open this baby up. Mom, seriously,
how am I gonna open this thing? There's so much tape. How did she do it? I send things to my mom
and then she sends them to me. Oh my god, we're gonna have to wear these tomorrow. Okay, I got
pants. Oh yeah, we got socks and you guys, don't make fun of me. So my foot's changing and I'm
having major toe problems which is affecting my activities. So I bought, let me show you guys,
this is so weird. My toes are gonna go back to normal I think. No? Okay, well I'm gonna drive
with these on every day regardless. Oops. Yay. So Ritual sent me their Essential for Women 18
plus multivitamin. Ah, I've been needing this. Also I really just think the pills are super cute
and we're gonna take them right now. This is really just like a nutrient backup plan
as they're specifically formulated to fill nutrient gaps in your diet. You guys, it's minty
fresh and the way that they're formulated too, it has an extended release so it's not hard on
your stomach and you don't need to take it with food and I don't really like to eat in the morning
so that's a plus. If you would like a subscription for yourself, go to ritual.com slash 10NikkiD
and use code 10NikkiD at checkout for 10% off. Yay. All right and now I'm gonna get myself a
birthday cake and we are going to head into the desert for some fun birthday adventures.
None of our friends could find any camp spots inside the park tonight so we're going to a
dispersed camping spot outside of the park but tomorrow morning we're gonna try again.
This looks pretty darn good. This is where we're gonna sleep tonight.
Yeah, this is our home for the day. What do you think?
After getting out the excitement of our dope camp spot, we ate, how do you clean your dishes,
had an epic sunset viewing, finally learned the down by the river joke
and got ready for bed. All right camp, it is bedtime. Good night everybody. Good night camper.
My whole life I've always wanted to do this and it's finally time. You got a camper back here.
Oh, I just burnt my hair. Don't do that. This is why you don't do a cake in a Prius. Happy birthday
to me. I'm gonna make a wish. Going in. Oh wow, this is a good one. You want to try some birthday cake?
Let's go see if our friends want any. Would you like to try some cake?
After some cake and a massive sugar high, I had a major realization. I'm freaking 33.
We're going to Joshua Tree. We're in Joshua Tree, aren't we?
Yeah, we're in Joshua Tree, but we're not in the park. All right, going into the park.
Oh god. 30 minutes later, we made it to the Hidden Valley Campground. Okay, so this campground is
first come first serve. It says it's full, but your boy Charlie over here went searching around
yesterday and found a group of people who were leaving this morning. So let's just hope we get
here in time. That's why we woke up so early. This place is crazy. Good news, found a spot.
Now I just have to wait an hour and a half for them to move because there's nowhere to park.
So we wait. So we wait, camper. Once we secured our camp spot, camper and I decided to take the
bike out for the first time since we had our back wheel stolen in Phoenix. Since then, we've added
many more locks to our collection. I do not make it easy. Okay, camp, it's as far as we go. No dog's
allowed past here. That's fine. All right, back to the Prius. Good job, good boy. You did great.
After our ride, I made a birthday salad and then went on a hike.
Fully equipped with a birthday brew. I'm scrambling up here.
Seriously? And then it was time for the annual long arm pour challenge. You do it. Wind check.
Nope, maybe the other hand. Not much more wisdom this year. Does anyone else know this? I've had
After some more romping around, we got changed. I don't know what this toe obsession thing is.
And now we're just gonna watch the sunset. That's a good birthday. And then maybe we're
gonna share some birthday cake. Which is exactly what we did once the sun went down.
All the rest of our friends arrived and we got a fire going. So when I got this cake,
I asked him to write happy birthday Nikki on it. He was like, is this how you spell your name?
The why it was it was bad. And I was like, maybe he's artistic. Maybe it'll be good.
Yeah, so so he wrote on my cake, right? And then he goes, sorry, it was my first time.
So at first I was like, well, I kind of wish you told me that before you wrote on it.
But I'm glad I could be your first.
Cha cha cha. This is the best birthday ever.
After more passing of the cake and making some amazing memories,
we retired to the Prius for the evening. Hey guys, it is seriously magical out here.
You can see all the stars so clearly. I wish you guys could see all the stars I'm seeing up here.
Highly recommend sleeping this way from now on. Good night, everybody.
Despite having both windows all the way down last night, there was so much condensation. So
I'm just running the car real quick to just get some of that moisture out of here really fast.
After admiring the sunrise, we said hello to our friends. Good morning.
Had some coffee, did some morning stretches and got ready for the day.
I'm pretty excited about the new outfits I bought myself for my birthday. Good boy.
I love it. We went upstairs, grabbed our climbing gear, climbing shoes,
put on some sunscreen and hit our first climbing spot.
That was the hardest route I've ever climbed. Look at that view. It's worth it.
All slab, baby. That was so freaking hard. That was really hard. On the way to our next route,
I did rip my pants. So after some playtime, I did change for the day
and join up with my friends again to continue climbing. Good job, camper.
Oh, crikey, I found them. Here we have the strongest primate and the beautiful lady
as they talk. This was a great climb consisting of a ton of girl power and teamwork.
The rest of the week was an absolute blast, consisting of a ton more bike rides with
camper through the park, RV park showers in town. Ready for a shower. Hallelujah.
Pajamas at 3 30 in the afternoon. Don't mind if I do. Movie nights, a ton of climbing.
