Rising Tensions: US Delegates Visit Taiwan | China Military Drill in the Taiwan Strait

On April 14, former U.S. Democratic Senator Chris Dodd led a delegation on an unofficial visit to Taiwan. This is the first US delegation to Taiwan since Biden took office. On the same day, China made "serious protests" and suddenly announced a "live fire drill" in the Taiwan Strait from April 15 to 20. In a recent interview with the Voice of America, Rep. Scott said that some U.S. politicians believe in keeping "strategic patience" on Taiwan, which Perry believes is equivalent to indulging an evil regime: Perry cited the example of Hong Kong.
