Welcome to MizMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most jaw-dropping looks
at the 97th Academy Awards.
10. Lisa
2025 has already been an eventful year for Blackpink's Lisa.
She made her television debut in the third season of HBO's The White Lotus,
and now she's walked the Oscars red carpet. The singer and dancer stepped out in a chic
black-and-white Mark Gong floor-length tuxedo ensemble, featuring a long shirtdress over a
pair of black flared pants with a red carnation-like flower.
I just want something, like, cool today because I wear a dress a lot for the red carpet,
so today I want to switch, um, a different side of me. I think it's fun."
Lisa kept her half-up, half-down hairstyle when she joined Doja Cat and Ray onstage to
perform a musical tribute to the James Bond franchise, wearing a black,
custom Rahul Mishra-embellished gown. Staying on theme,
her dramatic slit and flowing skirt revealed another pop of daring red.
9. Colman Domingo
Colman Domingo has steadily built a reputation for standing out on red carpets.
For the 2025 Oscars, he donned a double-breasted suit jacket in classic Valentino red with black
lapels designed by Alessandro Micheli.
Sometimes I say I want to wear white because I want to be the light,
but today I want to be loved. So, it's all love."
You are always loved. And this, talk about that bracelet.
This is archival from Boucheron. Isn't it beautiful?
In lieu of buttons, the Shantung silk jacket tied at the waist over a red-colored shirt and
black slacks. The Best Actor nominee infused even more of his fun style with gold archival
jewels from Boucheron, a ribbon brooch on his left lapel, a rope-chain bracelet,
and an eye-catching Fuzzy the Leopard Cat statement ring.
It's a Valentino with Boucheron jewels and an Omega watch, you know,
just all diamonds and jewels and things. This is, you know, it's archival things.
Domingo also wore a custom diamond-encrusted Omega watch. The Sing Sing star may not have
taken home the award, but he added another red carpet sleigh to his fashion resume.
8. Connie Nielsen
It's very exciting. I feel extremely grateful that I got to do these two films and continue
like the story of Lucilla.
Danish actress Connie Nielsen wasn't up for an award at this year's Oscars,
but she was one of the presenters representing their films for Best Costume Design.
Before taking the stage, the Gladiator 2 star hit the red carpet in a soft pink
silk chiffon Elie Saab dress from the brand's spring-summer 2025 Haute Couture collection.
The flowing gown had a wrap design, featuring a sweetheart neckline with fabric draped over
one shoulder and a thigh-high slit. Nielsen topped off the Roman royalty look with sparkling
Joseph Sadian & Sons jewelry.
7. Elle Fanning
You can always count on Elle Fanning to serve fairytale glamour on the red carpet.
Collaborating with longtime stylist Samantha McMillan, the fashionista made her Oscars
debut wearing a white lace Givenchy Couture by Sarah Burton gown. A long black bow cinched the
empire waist, adding some contrast. The A Complete Unknown actress went for a stunning 1958 diamond
choker pulled from the Cartier vault, along with a matching ring and bracelet.
Fanning's blonde tresses were fashioned into a princess bun,
giving the dramatic cape train even more room to stand out.
6. Rachel Sennett
Oh my God, you look gorgeous! I'm obsessed with the gloves.
Back in January, Saturday Night Star Rachel Sennett announced the Academy Award nominees,
fittingly alongside SNL cast member Bowen Yang. She rocked a black Balenciaga gown,
giving a classic Hollywood vibe. For Oscars night, the actress-comedian opted for a more
colorful look from the designer, and wore a custom pink Balenciaga Haute Couture beaded
column dress with a sweetheart neckline.
It was like a midnight glam call, and then we started at like 5 a.m. So by the time we were
doing it, I was like, you know when you're at a sleepover for too long, and then you're like,
ah, everything's funny.
With the all-over bedazzling, Sennett kept the accessories minimal with dangling drop
earrings and two rings. The makeup was light, with a subtle smoky eye,
and her chic bob was parted down the middle.
It's gorgeous! Thank you so much.
Of course, it's just like an Oscar.
It is. It's better. This is all I need.
5. Cynthia Erivo
We wanted to have a nod to Oz, a nod to the green,
and a nod to old Hollywood. It was something I always wanted.
Along with her Wicked co-star, powerhouse actress and singer Cynthia Erivo has dominated
one red carpet after another. The Best Actress nominee continued her ElphabaCore trend wearing
a velvet ballgown by Louis Vuitton in a deep emerald color.
I've actually been wearing black, mostly black, and then I had one silver-gray moment at the sags,
and then today I felt like it was right to finish in green.
The high collar and off-the-shoulder sleeves brought serious drama to an already fantastic
ensemble. Stylist Jason Bolden shared on Instagram that the dress paid tribute to Hattie McDaniel,
the first black person to win an Oscar for acting.
As always, Erivo's nails were otherworldly thanks to nail artist Klaas Baidior,
who gave her a, quote,
"...gilded mani that perfectly completed her other diamond and green jewels."
She hand does all of these, like hand sculpts every gild that's on there. I don't know,
if you move close to this one, you see how all the gilding is there? She does it by hand.
On stage, she wowed in a custom Vivienne Westwood floral bridal gown.
Number 4. Demi Moore
Before the 97th Academy Awards, Scout Willis, daughter of Best Actress nominee Demi Moore,
promised her mother would show up in a look, quote,
"...to die for." Well, Demi sure delivered.
She worked the red carpet in a striking custom Giorgio Armani Privet silver gown
dripping in crystals, with a daring plunging neckline and ruched design at the hips.
Hairstylist Dimitris Giannettos fashioned Moore's trademark dark tresses in loose curls,
or as he calls them, quote,
"...Oscar waves." Stylist Brad Goreski pulled the glittering look together
with dazzling Chopard jewels and Christian Louboutin heels.
Number 3. Ariana Grande
First-time Academy Award nominee Ariana Grande channeled Good Witch energy in a
custom sculptural Schiaparelli blush ball gown from their Spring 2025 couture collection.
The stunning dress featured a satin bustier and peplum with a full skirt made of shimmering tulle.
Makeup artist Michael Anthony gave Grande an ethereal glow,
complimenting the classic updo by hairdresser Alex Liu.
For her opening Oscar performance with co-star Cynthia Erivo,
Grande slipped into a ruby-red Schiaparelli strapless dress designed by Daniel Roseberry
and made from 150,000 Siam sequins. Eagle-eyed viewers clocked the hidden
Dorothy-inspired slipper on the back.
Number 2. Halle Berry
In 2002, Academy Award winner Halle Berry made history as the first Black woman to
take home the Best Actress Oscar. She attended this year's ceremony as a presenter and graced
the red carpet in a show-stopping Christian Siriano silver strapless gown.
The shattered mirror creation features 7,000 beads and semi-sheer elements on the sides.
Berry sported a chic flipped bob styled by Dave Stanwell
and flaunted metallic ombre nails by Kim Truong.
Siriano said dressing the Halle Berry for the Oscars was essentially a dream come true,
and needless to say, the designer knew the assignment and delivered.
Before we unveil our top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
Bruna Marchesini, the Brazilian actress stunned in a custom body-hugging white
Atelier Versace and Giuseppe Zanotti gown.
Ana de Armas, the ballerina star graced the red carpet in a black Louis Vuitton
dress with an embroidered halter.
Jeff Goldblum, the always eccentric Wicked star turned heads in a white
Prada dinner jacket with purple touches.
Kaling was a show-stopper in a silver metallic Oscar de La Renta halter gown
with all-over leaf embellishments.

Selena Gomez attended the 2025 Oscars donning a custom Ralph Lauren blush pink off-the-shoulder
gown with hand-embroidered Rosemont crystals and embellished with, quote,
more than 16,000 drops of glass that were airbrushed, creating a blush ombre effect.
To pull the Sophia Loren-inspired look together, Gomez channeled old Hollywood glam with a wavy
bob by Renato Campora and soft makeup by Hung Van Gogh. She topped it off with matching satin
platforms by Stuart Weitzman and Bulgari Jewelry to go with her stunning marquise diamond engagement
ring from fiancé Benny Blanco. What was your favorite look this year? Let us know in the
comments below.
"...Cartier necklace from 1958, which they pulled out of a vault, so like…"
"...protect at all costs."
"...it really fits my neck perfectly, like, does anyone want to buy this for me?"
