9 Ways to Pronounce 'OUGH' in British English! + TEST
๐ English Pronunciation can be CRAZY sometimes and we can see that clearly with the NINE Ways to Pronounce the letters OUGH in English.
๐ In this Pronunciation lesson I will show you the 9 different ways OUGH can be pronounced and we will practice some difficult OUGH words and tongue twisters so you can master pronunciation of this letter formation in English. We will also have a short TEST at the end so you can check if you are learning!
๐ There are SOME rules for OUGH pronunciation in English, for example if the OUGH is followed by a 'T' then it is usually pronounced /ษห/. HOWEVER there are not many other reliable rules so the BEST WAY to learn is to learn BY HEART (by memory). Practice and repeat my words and then practice the longer English Sentences until you can feel your pronunciation improving!
๐ This lesson also includes plenty of practice with English Vowel Sounds so it's a good place if you want some extra practice with some difficult Diphthongs and Long vowel sounds!
