Hey, this is Sherry and John and we've got some ideas for those of you who are couch potatoes.
Yeah, if you're binge watching something on Netflix or you've been watching TV shows and
just need a little break, maybe the commercial's on, we're going to give you a couple ideas of
things you can do. Okay, so first we're going to start with our hands and I want you to open and
close your fingers. Open and close. Yeah, get all those knuckles to be spread nice and wide and then
rotate your wrists as you open and close your fingers. Good. And go the other way. Remember,
you're still opening and closing your fingers. Good. Keep those hands moving that way and I want
you to move your elbows in and out and moving those wrists and moving those fingers. Good.
And then take one shoulder back and then the other as you're moving those fingers opening and
closing. Do a little twisting. Good. And then shake your hands out a little bit. Take them down low to
left, center, other side, center. Take them all the way to the top. Good. This will warm you up a
little bit. One more time to get all the way to the bottom and then bring them back to your lap.
All right, over to you, John. Great position. We've got those hands there. We're going to do a
little bit for our neck next. So we're nice and tall in that seat. Take chin towards chest as we
lower down. Just start to breathe in and come back up nice and slowly as we lift our neck up.
So push the break down again, dropping that chin close to that chest as we lower.
And with an inhale back up again. Come up nice and steady coming up and we exhale down for one
more. Bring that chin close to that chest. We breathe in as we lift back up. Now we'll just
come back where we began and we're now going to get side move. Let's keep nice and tall in this
and just use our neck only. Breathe out as we twist to our left hand side. Exhale away.
Inhale as we return back to the centre and we exhale it over to our right. We don't allow that
body to move. We want to move that neck only. Exhale out. Inhale back in again. Once more to
our left. Exhale over to the side. Inhale return back and we move into the right again. Exhale
away to the right hand side. Inhale back and the last one. We're across to our left as we exhale
away. We inhale back and the last time then we exhale over to our right. Breathe in back.
Back to you, Sherry. All right, great. We're going to warm up the shoulders a little bit. So just
take a couple shoulder rolls backwards. You can use your hands to kind of float into that as well.
Good. And then a couple forwards. And then we're going to pretend we're swimming. So just take a
gentle swim stroke. Nothing really aggressive right now. Just warming it up. Good. Good work.
Take it backwards. Backstroke. If you want to, you can look behind you. Yeah, a little neck
twist here. Good. Good. And then we'll do the breaststroke. Good. Leaning forward a little bit.
That feels good. You got it. See all the things you can do sitting on your couch. Good. And then
we'll do the butterfly, which goes like this. Up and over the waves. Good. Up and over the waves.
Two more. Up and over and up and over. All right. Good work. Over to you, John.
Hands back in the thighs, two feet straight. We're working those calf muscles. So we push the weight
to the toes, lift the heels from the floor, but we keep tall in the seat and we drop back down.
So we're keeping the upper body straight. We press the weight to the toes, lift those heels
and then we lower. That's good. So we press the weight to the toes, lift the heels. Now this time
we lower the weight back into the heels and we lift the front part of the foot up and we push down
again. We lift the heels. Good work. Well done. So we lower to the heels again, lift the toes up,
press the weight to the toes, lift the heels again once more. Good. We get three more. So lower the
weight back, push the toes, lift the heels once more. That's really good work. So if I'm getting
cramps in my toes and my feet, these are really, really important just to help and improve the
circulation. We lower back down and get one more. Then press the weight into the toes,
lower the weight back to the heels. All right. We'll end it with the foot stomp,
which is a great way to get circulation. If you're sitting a lot, a lot of your blood pulls
down to the bottom of your feet and the foot stomp helps to get that blood back up to your heart.
So take your hand, grab a hold of your leg, doesn't matter which one, and we're going to lift it up
maybe just about three or four inches, not too much. Let go of your hands and stomp your leg.
Good. Other side. Lift it up, stomp, lift and stomp. The stomp is the most important part
because that's where the blood gets pushed back up to the heart. Good. Now if you want a little
super duper work, then you do the same thing, but no hands. Good. That uses your core. Good. You got
it. And up. Yeah, you got it. We sound like a monster coming down the hallway. Good. Nice,
tall spine. And again, and we'll do one more each side. Up and down, up and down. Great work,
everyone. I hope that gave you a couple little ideas to kind of while away the time when you're
on your couch. Thanks for joining us. Namaste. Thank you.
