oh my God are you seeing what I'm seeing is this [Music] [Music] real good morning guys I do I do hope you can hear me over all the noise um I wasn't going to come down to the plot today but it is a stunningly beautiful day oh it's just the noisiest Day Ever I'm so sorry I do hope you can hear me it's stunningly beautiful day the the sky is blue the sun is out it's actually the afternoon and I normally come down here in the morning time but I thought I'd come down in the afternoon because the weather was just it's just so nice I did see a huge wood chip delivery so seeing as it's so bleed and noisy here I think we're going to just go and get as much wood chip as we can and finish off those Pathways at the back which is incred read to be exciting news I will get a lot of questions asking where this beautiful cardigan is from um it's got all the spring flowers on it and I just fell in love with it when I saw it it's from Bowden um I actually had a discount code for my birthday um I think you get like 10 or 20 off um when it's your birthday if you sign up to them and I just couldn't resist I couldn't resist my new little spring cardigan so it's the perfect day to wear it because it is honestly just gorgeous out here I will show you lots of it I promise but I will have to cut the noise out and put some lovely background music on and I hope you don't mind otherwise it's just going to be that this is the source of the noise guys they are poling all of those trees all those big trees so cutting all of them right back um in an attempt to kind of keep them healthy and and growing but it does mean we've got a lot of wood chip so can't be mad about it when we get wood chipped can we um I did actually go to the garden center and got loads of plants and this is what I wanted to plant out today all my plants but we are going to go get that wood chip first I think I have made an executive decision as CEO of my lot plot to go and get some of that wood chip because I'm here first I'm the first I'm the only one here I think I'm the only one here I promise you most of these plants were on sale some of them [Music] [Music] oh my God it's really good wood chip it's literally wood it's there's no leaves there's no leaves in here it's just wood how's this happening quick get [Music] it I didn't bring a shovel with me down here I thought it'd be quicker not to bring a [Music] shovel why did I think it'd be quicker not to bring a shovel what's that all about maybe if I just Ram the um War Barrow into it just sort of fall into it like snow [Music] it was an idea [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh my goodness the difference that wood chip has made to my entire plot is insane I've only got two WHEB Falls so far I might go back and get a couple more um that is such a good wood chip and it is just look look at that pathway there you see how bright it is and how it just lightens up everything and makes it feel very fresh and springy there's nothing I get excited about more than like fresh wood chip but when it's really good and it's free as well we don't get much free wood chip anymore but they are massively taking care of all the trees around here at the moment and it does mean that we are going to end up with quite a lot of it so this is just fantastic new oh so happy let me show you some of the plants I picked up over the last couple of days cuz that's really what I want to get in the ground today that's why I'm here hopefully they don't do that the whole [Music] time right here they all are all the plants I picked up recently from a garden center now not all of them were full price some of them were in the sale they were 75% off so this one for example reduced from £10.99 to £275 it is is a what is it see now I don't know what that is but what I did see I'm not like a plant expert at all and I don't know what these mean and this is a real Garden Center this was garon in Isa and they have like real plants there do you know what I mean it's not like one of these commercial garden centers it's kind of like it's got lots of varieties I've never heard of they don't put pictures on their plants so it feels a little bit more serious to me but what I did was I just Googled the name of the plant while I was there and I googled an established picture of the plant picture of the established plant so that I could see what it looked like when it was like fully grown and then I decided whether to buy it or not um and that's how I figured out what they were now everything I picked up is a habous perennial this is salvia um they're all habous perennials and one of my goals this year was to put more herbaceous perennials into my lopment so that I always have something flowering every year and um I thought i' put it all Under The Apple Tree which is where I'm having like a big flowery patch but I want The Flower Patch there to be like ant like perennial flowers and then the flower bed in front of it to be annual flowers so I've got a mix basically I think we should just start planting them and I sort of tell you what they are as we go let's do that [Music] right so they're all going to go under my apple tree I've already got two lavenders you can see all of my daffodils coming up all over the ground I have a Salvia hot lips here which is absolutely beautiful and I have two other plants I don't remember the names of but they're also quite nice like I said not a plant expert but I did choose them all because they are perennial and they're pretty right so going to do is sort of place them about until I'm happy with them and then we'll start planting and then as I'm planting I'll sort of tell you what they are I will tell you what they are I promise at some [Music] point all right so I've got four Fox gloves and I thought they're quite happy like woodland plants so they'd be quite happy under the tree here so I'm going to put them in a little group of four cuz they're all with their mates I can't find my uh TR guys so I'm having to use this which is actually a bowl planter I think is a little bit annoying but I think it will do the job let's dig ourselves a little ho it's actually really annoying I wish I knew where my my TR was got different colors got a mix of different colored Fox gloves just to mix it up a little bit before you tell me I do know they are poisonous but I promise I'm not planning on eating them you what I'm going to go and get my big Spade I think it'd be easier [Music] all right then over here I've got some Salvia this is the uh the one that the bees really like do you know what I learned actually bees really like purple plants and purple flowers and that's why they sort of go for Salvia so much got two I tried to buy things in pairs and I'm going to put a couple of these in over here right here I've got a habiscus and this was in the sale so this was reduced from nearly 20 to nearly £10 8.99 to 949 to be exact it's a hibiscus in varieties and I did look up the the picture of it on Google like I said and he's going to go here I think he'll be quite happy there and then just behind in there I've got scabia and I've got another one which I'm going to slot in here cuz like I said they're purple flowers the bees love them and I'm trying to buy things in twos butterflies really like scabas as well cuz they have a really nice big flower head in fact they've got a picture of them here there they are aren't they lovely scabas and then in between all of those lovely plants I did pick up some primulas are these primulas no they're not they're polyanthus I got the polyanthus White and the polyanthus dragon I was looking for candelabra polyanthus cuz I saw it on Garden as world and I thought it was beautiful but um I don't know if these are are these actually the Candelabra did I actually find them cuz I saw them shooting up like that and I was like oh they really look like the Candelabra ones but they're not called that they're called fire dragon so hopefully they are hopefully they are the can candelabra ones cuz they're really nice they're really tall and they come back year after year so I'm going to dot these about when all of that is in so let's plant all that out [Music] [Music] I've got spring bulbs coming up here as well but luckily luckily they are all growing now so I'm not going to dig them all up by accident so that's good the trick for um planting out perennials is to dig a hole twice as big and then fill it in but unfortunately I've got all the apple tree roots here so it's sort of going to have to go in as deep as it goes and it's going to have to cope it's going to have to get on with it I am just breaking up the roots a little bit as well just to encourage them to spread their wings not that there's anywhere for you to spread your wings too that needs to go a bit deeper there if I can get you much deeper we're going to try for you mate right can you fit in there yeah you'll be fine you'll be all right in there you know what you'll sink down I know you will I'm sort punching him now I'm not meaning to I'm just trying to get him in crushing him now with my boots poor thing I do hope you grow after all that right so now we're on to the polyanthemos what we're going to do is we're going to just sort of dot these about polyanthemos app apparently they grow naturally near like water they like quite boggy conditions and um this area here gets flooded a lot so I thought these would be really good just to dot about get a bit of color but also they'll sort of survive that's what I need here survivors we's sort of dot them about do you know what I think these are the Candelabra Prim what they called polyanthemos calabra polyanthemos the ones that got the flowers that come up I think they are look at that that is like a candelabra if I ever did see a plant that look like a candelabra that is one that is going to look stunning gosh I hope you do well oh good morning Ein I mean good afternoon Einstein didn't expect to see you today do you want some food let's take an Einstein break just while they've stopped all the drilling yeah waiting for me today were you there you go quick before that noise starts again come on come on then I'm having to crouch down cuz otherwise my shadow will go in it should we do a little shadow look light a little bit now which is annoying because uh I had more that I wanted to do today but we're not going to be able to get it done fortunately [Music] oh guys I have just noticed a big pile of feathers in here looks like pigeon feathers loads of them I think perhaps foxy managed to get hold of a a pigeon I have a feeling cuz when there's as many feathers as this it's normally something's grabbed the bird that's not very nice but there we go oh dear poor old birdie [Music] oh my goodness for the first time since I've sort of thought about this area I finally am seeing division so I always wanted this area to be full of like perennial flowers spring bulbs just making it a real feature around the apple tree I can finally see it starting to take shape it looks beautiful already the mixture of daffodils and the oh gosh I forgotten the name again I can't believe I keep forgetting the name of you I I keep wanting to call him pen Peninsula it's not that you're um polyanthemos that's what you are my goodness me right the polyanthemos the lovely spring bulbs coming up and then just all look at these perennials absolutely [Music] gorgeous right I'm going to have to leave it there because as soon as the sun goes behind that house there my whole plot turns into a shady Nightmare and I can't film anymore and um it is like approaching half past 3 the only other thing I didn't plant out today that I want to and I'm so excited about is this it's a rambling Rose and I will tell you more about it look at that picture absolutely stunning I'll tell you more about this next time um on Monday and we'll plant it out properly CU I've got some proper soil to go in for this I really want to look after it it was 27 was it £27 $77.99 gosh I thought it was a lot more expensive than that it's a rambling Rose so it's going to be great on my lot plot I hope and I'm really excited to get to get this out in the ground to be honest but I'm not going to do it today because we ran out
