Tesla Announces NEW Optimus Bot Gen 3's SHOCKING Price & Production Plan. UPDATE HERE! Tesla is making an aggressive push into humanoid robotics, with Elon Musk claiming that Optimus could become the company’s biggest product ever—surpassing even its EV business. In 2025, Tesla aims to manufacture 10,000 Optimus robots, despite acknowledging that the actual number could be lower. Beyond that, the company envisions ramping up production to 1 million units per year, driving costs down and making robots a mainstream reality.
But can Tesla really scale production that quickly? How far has Optimus actually progressed in terms of autonomy? And is this a genuine technological breakthrough or just another attempt to reassure investors amid Tesla’s EV struggles? Let’s break it all down in today’s video.

After a sluggish year for Tesla’s automotive business, CEO Elon Musk is doubling down on humanoid robots to regain investor confidence. During Tesla’s Q4 2024 earnings call, Musk stated that the company aims to manufacture 10,000 Optimus robots in 2025. However, he acknowledged that this is an ambitious goal and that the actual production volume may be significantly lower.

Tesla Announces NEW Optimus Bot Gen 3's SHOCKING Price & Production Plan. UPDATE HERE! Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot, has been in development for years and made its first real-world demonstration in October 2024. While the robot showcased impressive dexterity, skepticism remains about whether it can operate autonomously or is still reliant on remote control. Despite Musk’s bold target, he admitted that Tesla might only produce a few thousand units this year, though he emphasized that even this number would be enough to put Optimus to practical use within the company. “Will we hit exactly 10,000 by the end of December? Probably not. But will we produce thousands? Yes, I think so,” Musk said during the earnings call.
Tesla previously claimed that Optimus prototypes were already working in its factories, but concrete evidence has yet to be provided. So far, most of Tesla’s demonstrations have featured robots seemingly controlled by humans. Meanwhile, the company is setting up a production line capable of manufacturing 1,000 units per month, with plans to scale up to 10,000 per month. Musk also revealed that the second-generation Optimus, expected next year, could be produced at a staggering rate of 100,000 units per month.
