A lot of people travel to Europe. They travel to Europe by motor coach or by car or by train.
If you travel by river, you get more leisure time than you get any other means of transportation
because you don't have to pack and unpack. When you are in a city, you are docked right in the
center of the city. You physically, when you go, let's say, when you cruise into Amsterdam,
you can be sitting at the bar. You cruise into Amsterdam. You dock right behind a train station
in downtown. You step off the bar and you are in downtown. What makes it nice is you have your
luxury floating hotel going with you through Europe. So you actually have every day twice
as much time for your leisurely experience as you have when you travel in any other means of
transportation. All of Europe is pretty much built around the river. That means in all places,
you are in the center of the city. You just step off the ship and you're in downtown. So that's
the beauty about it. Today, when you drive through Europe, let's say, by bus or by car,
more and more freeways have soundproof walls where you don't see anything. On the river,
you see the beautiful back walls, lots of small villages, which you will never get to see from
the car. So it is a fantastic experience. And once people start doing one cruise,
they go again and again. That's why it's such an explosion. River cruising is the fastest growing
travel network, part of travel in North America. Growing faster than any kind of means of travel.
Let's assume you're in Budapest and you're cruising up the Danube.
You go to bed at night in Budapest, you wake up the next morning, you're in Bratislava,
next capital of Slovakia. You spend your day in town, you see the city and so on. You go to bed,
you wake up the next morning, you're in Vienna. If you look at what's happening in Europe 20 years
ago, in September 1992, the Main-Danube Canal was opened up. It connects the Rhine River through
the Main into the Danube. That means you go up over the Alps by ship in Bavaria and you go down
the other side into the Danube. You can go through 15 different countries without leaving the river
network. ABBA Waterways is a river cruise line. We have currently 15 ships in the market. We add
every year two or three more ships. These are river ships which are about 150 to 160 passengers
average. Travelers who are interested in history, culture, good food, dining and so on.
Once you get somebody to come, they will come again and again. It's such a wonderful experience.
Every year we build new ships and all the new ships have new developments.
There are always new ideas, more dining facilities, more larger staterooms,
totally new features on the ships. So that's one thing. Also new destinations.
So our customers want to come back and we need to offer something new for them.
15 years ago it was geared to like 100 people, kind of the same thing. Today you have 150
people on board. Five are doing this, 20 are doing this, eight are doing this and so on.
You almost are trying to cater to the individual need of your guest.
I want to make good memories. That's important.
A vacation and a cruise should really keep that memory going for a long time.
