hi my name is sheila bassey and i'm
saying hello i hope you're having a
really great day so today i want us to
talk about something that's really
really important i get a lot of
questions about it people keep asking
about coming to canada with their family
probably their spouse and their children
while they study in canada so today
we're going to really talk about this
topic and see what the pros and cons are
and what you should do if you have your
mind set on coming to canada and you
want to know how you can actually come
with your children okay and then
probably with your spouse as well
so bringing your spouse and family to
canada
while you study what are the pros and
cons what do you need to know about it
the canadian peace officers will
actually consider a study permit
application that includes
probably accompanying family members so
it's not a crime to apply with your
family members they will consider your
application but including family members
on a study permit application
may negatively affect the visa officer's
decision and the reason is because the
visa officer might suspect that the
student doesn't really have the
intention
to leave canada
after their study program the reason is
because a study permit is a temporary
resident visa it's not a permanent visa
so the visa officer expects you to prove
that you're actually going to leave
canada you have the intention of leaving
canada after your study program so at
this point it doesn't matter whether you
plan to stay back in canada they don't
really care at this point whether you're
getting a post graduation work from it
their job is to ensure that you have
enough ties back home
that show that you have the intention to
leave canada after your study program so
including your family members can affect
this officer's decision on whether or
not to issue the study permit some visa
officers will
actually grant study permit for the
students and then refuse
some or all members of their family if
they wanted to some visa officers will
choose everyone some of these officers
would grant everyone so it actually
depends on
the document you submit and this officer
that you get to and if they're actually
convinced that you have every intention
of coming back to your country
after your study program
now applicants must demonstrate
sufficient financial reform resources to
support themselves during the first year
of study so if you wish to come to
canada and you apply with your family
members to accompany you you should be
prepared to demonstrate additional funds
to support your family members this is
actually one of the reasons why some
family members or people who apply with
their family get denied because they
cannot show that they have sufficient
funds to actually support their studies
support themselves and also support
their family members this is another
thing that you need to take into
consideration if you want to apply with
your family members you should be able
to show the finances to support them
so if you're coming with your spouse and
children your spouse will get what is
called a spouse our open work permits
which gives them like the permission to
work anywhere in canada full-time yeah
so they can support your studies your
differential children will get study
visas official visas depending on their
age children that are six years and
below will get a visa visa they can go
to kindergarten or daycare children that
are six years and above will get a study
visa and then they can get they can go
to school um your child has to be a
maximum of about 22 years i think
and still be dependent on you if you
come to canada with a dependent child
they cannot work they can only go to
high school for free if they need to go
on to the university or college then
they will be paying as international
students it's very important to take
note of that
also it's important to note that
defendants do not include your parents
they do not include your siblings it
doesn't even include your fiance or your
fiance the person has to be your spouse
and children have to be your your
children they can be adopted as well but
they actually have to be your children
so you cannot be your household gonna be
your sister's child gonna be your cousin
gonna be your niece or nephew okay it
has to be your spouse and a dependent
child i hope that this has been really
really useful because a lot of people
