What's up Fun Squad, today we are at Dolphin Cay!
Hey guess what, today is our birthday!
We can pet the dolphin.
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Some of us get to swim with the dolphins.
I'm super excited.
Dolphins are my favorite animal and I'm really excited.
Woo.
Kalia turned six.
This is gonna be her first time.
Kalia,
is this your first time swimming with dolphins ever?
Kalia is six years old, she is old enough to swim with dolphins.
Thanks so much to Atlantis.
She's ready to swim with dolphins.
Kyler can't wait to Dip and Discover.
That's the name of this program for the little kids.
Hi, little ones.
How you doing?
So we stand up by saying hi.
So we're gonna say hello.
Wow...
This dolphin, her name is Maru.
She is very cool and talented.
And this is the trainer, Michelle.
And she is gonna teach us more about Maru.
I'm making a voice sound.
I'm gotta tell the dolphin how to laugh.
How to laugh?
Now that we got to know the dolphins, we get to swim with them.
Okay, Fun Squad.
The dolphins are gonna push my feet.
Oh, yeah.
I'm super excited.
They're gonna push all of our feet.
Except for Kyler.
All of us are old enough except for Kyler.
He's over there with Michelle and Maru.
This is gonna be an epic journey.
It's time to spend with the dolphins.
It's gonna be the best birthday ever.
Here goes Jazzy.
Comes the dolphin.
He's gonna come and push Jazzy.
That looks so fun.
You like to see her zooming in.
Here comes the dolphin.
Oh, my gosh.
This is so amazing.
The dolphins are so pretty.
Kalia, how do you feel?
Good.
You excited?
You ever done this before?
No.
This dolphin is going to push you.
Here comes the dolphin.
Oh, my gosh.
It's so priceless.
Jack's turn, here we go.
All right, my turn.
Here we go.
Makes you kind of nervous in this spot.
That's so cool.
That was so fun.
I can't believe how that feels.
That was one of the coolest things I've ever experienced.
Here goes Sarah.
She's next.
Fun Squad.
That was the most epic thing on earth.
Literally,
the dolphin is pushing you on your feet with its snout and it's just pushing you.
It's crazy.
This has been the best birthday ever.
Kalia, how was that getting pushed?
That was fun.
Kaden's gonna get pulled by the dolphin Fun Squad.
All right, let's see what Kalia's got.
Here we go Kalia.
Kalia's going.
Don't scratch them.
Here they come, here they come,
here they come.
Okay, grab on softly.
Why is that so funny?
Six year old little girl getting pulled by two dolphins.
Jack.
What do you think?
It's funny.
That is funny for you being pulled.
You know that farting sound thing?
Let's find out.
Pull my finger.
Ready guys?
It's coming.
Ready?
1, 2, 3.
That was Awesome.
Yeah.
Watch this, Fun Squad.
Isn't that amazing?
That was so fun.
I've done that a couple times and it's fun every single time.
How was it?
Was it so fun?
Yeah.
Tell me what your favorite part was.
My favorite part was when I got pushed my feet.
You liked when it pushed your feet, pushed you across the water.
That was like water skiing.
That was so cool.
What's up, Fun Squad.
That was awesome.
The best dolphin thing I've ever done in my life.
It was awesome.
What was your favorite part?
Probably the one where they dolphins pushed us on the boogie boards.
That was cool.
I thought it was gonna push me and it was like gonna tickle my feet.
But they just pushed you pretty fast and it didn't feel weird at all.
Yeah, when I did,
the dolphin pushed the foot part.
I just kind of felt like somebody's hand was like pushing you along,
like pushing the bottom of your foot.
It was really weird feeling,
but it was kind of nervous when you're sitting there in the water,
like, ah,
here they come.
They come and then they come up right behind you and then start pushing.
You just start flying anyways.
I feel like King Triton.
What was your favorite part, Jazzy?
Swimming with dolphins.
Jazzy's favorite part was swimming with dolphins...
Which part?
What part of the swimming with dolphins?
Either this one or the boogie board one.
Jazzy is not being very helpful here.
This one is when you're on the boogie board and you just hold on.
And the dolphins uhm
I liked that one better than the one pushing me up.
But my favorite part was when we were just like snorkeling because
I would just go down and then I would just grab the dolphins.
Yeah,
I like the other one where you just hold out like this in the water
And then two dolphins come and you grab onto their fins and you go.
Feels kind of like a really bumpy roller coaster because you're like ding,
ding, ding,
ding.
All right, Jack,
tell me your favorite part.
Well, my favorite part was probably.
When we had the boogie board and the dolphin pushed us all the way across.
It was so fun.
That was my favorite part for sure.
This is Linda,
and she's going to teach us about the dolphins.
All right.
So I'm going to tell you a little bit about how we started with the dolphins.
We actually started with a group of 17 dolphins that are known
as the Katrina dolphins.
And that's because those guys were left homeless following that hurricane.
A lot of our viewers are kids,
and they have no idea what conservation means.
Can you explain what conservation means to them?
So conservation is just preserving the environment.
So that everybody else can see it.
So we've actually done several rescue rehabs and releases with
manatees throughout the Bahamas.
And we keep track of them once we release them so that we know who's
where and what they're doing.
So you rescue dolphins, manatees,
and other ocean creatures in the sea?
We do,
and we also help with conserving their environments as well,
because we go out and we do cleanups.
We also do coral restoration projects.
So we just want to make sure that they're good and their environment is good.
What's the most amount of dolphins you've ever had here?
45.
Wow.
They have 37 right now.
That's crazy.
So there are 37 dolphins here.
How much food do they eat in a day?
We go through about 1500 pounds of fish every day.
All right, thanks so much to Linda,
for answering all of our questions.
Thanks so much for coming on this awesome adventure with us at Dolphin Cay.
You guys have to do this.
It's super fun.
Well, make sure to give us a big thumbs up.
