Together with Chief Conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky and pianist Nikolay Lugansky, the NDR Radiophilharmonie performs this special piano concerto by Nikolaj Medtner, which has only recently begun to attract more attention. The content of this concerto, entitled “Ballade”, follows the poem about Rusalka, a mermaid. Unlike the poem, however, it has a happy ending.
