Battle of Viking vs. Native American FIRST CONTACT CHANGED history. There is a long-standing myth on the European continent that another continent is located to the west of this one, on the other side of the endless sea.
The inhabitants of this new land had formerly braved enormous tundra and ancient seas to migrate from the Eurasian terrain. During the last Ice Age, they traveled across a land bridge that bridged the Bering Strait from Siberia to Alaska, entering a world uncharted territory. As one era gave way to the next, the bridge between the two hemispheres was broken and and the two sides of the world developed without knowledge of one another. For millennia, the world witnessed the cyclical rise and fall of powerful empires, people and tongues, prophecies, and religious beliefs.

This myth remained just that—a myth—until the Viking Age, when Norse explorers set out from Scandinavia and crossed the Atlantic in their longships, venturing into these distant lands. This was the first time they met the native, who were likely part of the Dorset culture or possibly the Beothuk people. These indigenous groups had their own established societies, traditions, and ways of life so it was a meeting of two worlds that had been isolated from each other for centuries.
Viking is a general term for the Vikings of ancient Europe. Strictly speaking, the Vikings, like the Huns, a nomadic group in ancient China, were not a nation in the true sense of the word, but a group of hunters and fishermen in Northern Europe.
Similar to the nomads living on the harsh Mongolian plateau, the Vikings lived in Scandinavia with harsh natural conditions and cold temperatures, which gave them a strong physique, a brutal and tough character, and often carried out raids.

From the 8th to the 11th century, they attacked and occupied the Baltic coast, the Russian mainland, the United Kingdom, and even crossed the Strait of Gibraltar, occupied the Mediterranean coast, and made Europe covered in the red color of blood and fire of battle.
