Scientists Found Evidence of 700,000-Year-old Humans Found in the Philippines

A recent discovery in the Philippines challenges previous beliefs about early human migrations. Researchers found stone tools and animal remains, including butchered rhinoceros bones, in a site dated to 727,000–701,000 years ago. This suggests that early humans, likely Homo erectus, arrived in the region far earlier than thought. Though surrounded by water, the Philippines may have been reached by humans who were either swept across on debris or possessed rudimentary seafaring skills. This finding, along with similar discoveries in Indonesia, reshapes our understanding of human evolution, migration, and the adaptability of ancient species like Homo erectus.
