11 Wild Animal Battles In The Wild Caught on Camera
The leopard is probably the most agile and versatile of the big cats. It always approaches a hunt with a plan and usually sneaks up on its prey to ambush it, so it is successful most of the time. Join us, as we look at 11 moments when leopards brutally attack other animals.

15. Lion versus leopard. This lion pride traps a leopard and mangled the big cat.
They are mostly sub-adults, but it's still a handful for the poor leopard.
We're talking about 12 lions pouncing on one smaller cat.
It looks like the lions went too far and killed the leopard.
A male leopard in Maasai Mara was caught by a lion pride in their territory,
and almost paid the price with his life.
Unfortunately, the leopard suffered serious injuries and may not survive long after this
attack. An injured leopard rarely survives because of its solitary life.
It depends solely on itself to hunt, so it becomes very difficult to hunt when it is injured.
A leopard is ambushed by two lions in this video,
but the leopard uses his great speed and agility to escape
and can be seen running away from one of the lions in the open field.
Leopards can outrun lions because they are simply faster.
When pursuing their prey, lions can reach speeds of 35 miles per hour,
but leopards may reach speeds of 40 miles per hour.
If the combat appears to be turning in its favor, an outmatched leopard may be able to flee.
Leopards are also much better tree climbers than lions
and can leap from tree to tree in seconds, something lions cannot do.
Two male lions jump on a leopard and his warthog kills him.
But the lions are interested in the warthog,
so the leopard manages to get away without a scratch while the lions focus on the warthog.
14. Buffalo vs. Lion
The male lion in this video thinks he's going to have it easy trying to take down this lone buffalo.
But when he goes for the kill, the buffalo pulls a 360-spinorama,
tossing the lion off his back in no time.
Cape buffalos are an amazing catch for lion prides
because they yield enough to feed an entire pride.
But as you can see in this video, after a male lion attacks a small buffalo calf,
he must deal with the angry herd approaching.
And even for a male lion, the task at hand is slightly overwhelming and scary enough to abandon.
Buffalo herds will commonly launch counterattacks against aggressive lions,
especially if they are hunting on their own.
Buffalos are not looking for a fight, but their aggressive nature
often causes them to fight against attacking animals such as lions.
And this male lion coalition finds out quickly.
