Bald eagle Freedom recovering at New Jersey zoo after being rescued by veteran

and as we focus on the Philadelphia Eagles this week there is another Eagle inspiring a lot of people absolutely beautiful Freedom the eagle has an incredible Story of Survival he's now recovering at the Essex County turtleback zoo in Northern New Jersey Freedom was found caught in a rope recently and a vet came to his rescue he has a really cool story because it was actually a military um an ex a veteran who was a sharpshooter in the military who was able to shoot through the rope and free free you know so yeah he he has a really cool story oh he certainly does and I like how he got his name Zoo official say Freedom's injury has prevented him from being released back into the wild but he is now strong enough to fly and interact with Zoo guests and staff and he sends an important message but he's an excellent example and a really good um talking point for us to be able to talk about The Endangered Species Act to our guests and how important that has been in in um really saving some of the species right here and he's got a friend out there this month in New Jersey became the latest state to take the bald eagle off its endangered species list citing a remarkable comeback for the creatures in December former President Joe Biden signed legislation making the eagle formally the country's national bird and you know how we feel about eagles around here
