The World Premiere performance of Street Motet No 1 by Pete M. Wyer.

Rather than a straightforward choral work, the piece brings a choir to the streets, synchronised over headphones. They initially walk in small groups in the East and West Village of Manhattan, their routes crossing and converging at Washington Square Park, where they emerge as a single procession that leads to Astor Place Plaza.

The words are from a popular meditation:
May I be filled with loving-kindness
May I be well
May I be peaceful and at ease
May I be happy

They are repeated with 'I' replaced by the word 'you'
The performance took place on December 21st 2024 and lasted 40 minutes. This film shows some of the highlights from those 40 minutes.
