We first spoke 10 years ago, in 2014, ahead of the Brazil World Cup.
How do you think Neymar today compares to Neymar then?
A lot has changed, it's totally different.
Today I'm a boy, today I'm a man.
Today I have a family, I have my children.
And the style of play is practically the same.
I follow my characteristics on the pitch, but with a bigger head and experience.
Over the years I've learned a lot, I've gone through a lot of difficulties,
but I've managed to overcome them all.
Have you achieved what you wanted to in life?
Do you ever think about what if, maybe?
I've achieved a lot more than I expected.
I'm a very happy guy, with my career, with the choices I've had,
where I've been.
Obviously you think about one thing or another that you could have,
but that's part of football, you don't always get all the titles.
But so far I'm very happy with everything, and very proud.
How has your experience in Saudi Arabia compared to what you were expecting?
Totally different from what I expected.
Saudi Arabia has been positively surprising me,
by the people, by the country, by the city, by the culture.
I think it's a country that's been growing more and more.
Cristiano said the standard, the league, is better than League Up.
Do you agree?
League Up has its merits, it's a very strong league.
I've played in it, I know that.
For the players that exist in the Saudi league, it's better.
Why did you choose Saudi, not the MLS?
There had been talk, potentially, of recreating the MSN.
When the news came out that the MSN was coming out,
the US market was closed.
So I didn't have a choice.
And the project they offered me here was very good,
not just for me, but for my family.
So it was the best option I took, to come here.
So, Kurt, into Miami, and the recreation of Messi, Suárez and Neymar.
Might it still happen?
Obviously, playing with Messi and Suárez again would be incredible.
They're my friends, we've spoken to each other to this day.
So I think it would be interesting for football to relive this trio.
I'm happy in Real Madrid, I'm happy here in Arabia.
How do you rate Brazil's chances looking ahead to 26?
100%.
We don't need that one translated.
I trust my team a lot, I trust the players that are emerging,
that are new, it's a new team.
We're not where we wanted to be today.
I think we'll achieve something great together.
We have a year to work, a year and a half,
so we can do the right things to reach the top of the world.
And how confident you will be there in 26?
Of course, for sure.
I want to be there.
I'm going to try to do my best,
work very hard so I can be with the national team.
Does it feel unfinished business with you and the World Cup?
I don't know.
Like I said, I trust my team and my teammates
so we can do the right things to reach the World Cup
and do what every Brazilian wants, which is to win.
I know it's my last World Cup,
so it's my last shot, my last chance.
I'm going to do my best so I can do it.
