windy who wrote this he did James
Mangold a complete unknown Stars Timothy
Shalom as Bob Dylan but it's the
supporting players that reveal something
about him Monica babro is Joan bz and
Edward Norton is Pete
Seager both of them help us understand
how he is unknown Jim mangled was very
articulate in saying that he had no
intention to try to unpack Dylan per se
you know like a bi like a biopic or
something or find the key to him he kept
saying collisions he had these
collisions and and out of that energy of
these collisions this emergent moment
rose up your reaction to him
watching those reactions we begin to get
a sense of this mystery menstral my very
first meeting with with James Mangold
was I mean we talked about his interest
in in Amadeus and how it's not Mozart
telling you who he is but instead the
impression Mozart left on everyone
around him you know it's a treat to then
be a character
within that world and I think I think
you see that a lot even in documentaries
about about Bob Dylan that that a lot of
what Bob Dylan
is is the lasting impression he has left
on on everybody who's who's been sort of
in his in his orbit I think what Jim
captured beautifully is he didn't try to
assess an entire life I think he looked
at the idea of youthful talent and its
propulsive character I think that the
movie is deals with the propulsive force
that his talent was for him to what
extent did you feel you got to know her
at all as you were developing this
character I think she's she's also come
forward and been very honest about a lot
of her stage fright a lot of her anxiety
so I I very early on got to kind of
understand more deeply the kind of like
the swan on top and the the feet
pedaling she's an artist in in so many
different practices too and so I just
sort of tapped into everything I could
of of her enigmatic personality and what
what Timmy was beautifully delivering as
Bob thank you I appreciate it very much
pleasure so much always good to see you
good to talk to you thanks Patrick
