The opera Lucia di Lammermoor is considered one of the highest achievements of romantic bel canto. Never having known periods of neglect, the opera regularly appears on the playbills of theaters all over the world. The Mariinsky Theatre is no exception. The Mariinsky's current production is its third in the last two decades. The scenic solution was prepared by the Italian team that staged the Mariinsky's operas Simon Boccanegra and Falstaff.
