there is a little secret about being
finished with your goals early in your
day we's
say
and this is about you know you you may
have four or five goals that you want to
see progress in Daily and if you can set
up your approach where you're getting to
that point that I talk about where you
feel like I'm finished I'm done I've
accomplished I've met my my Baseline for
what I regard progress I've met that if
you can get to that point relatively
early in your day you enter this
spontaneous period of your day which
isn't about
gold and I also call it bonus
territory and there's a very interesting
thing that you'll find in that period of
your day when you start to regularly get
into that space where you know you're
finished early you're sending your
nervous system the off signal that I'm
done you'll find that this bonus
territory of your day this borus period
of your day you're going to start to
encounter a really nice surprise and it
is that there are many things that are
somewhat maybe related to your
goals that want to be
done very different to the idea that the
you know the obligation we have around
goals and this needs to be done I have
to do that and I should do this and
that's what's required right to have to
to should do to need to do
if you can attune to very basic easily
achieved standards for your goals that
you feel are making you're making
progress with them and you know they're
easy easy to maintain and you get to
that point relatively early in your day
you will find that now you enter this
spontaneous Bon bonus period And it's
like oh I'm attracted to that I want to
do that and that's a really really
useful period of your day in fact I
would even say that that period of your
day when you're in that space is
more effective than the earlier part of
your day when you're consciously
deliberately more in a more structured
way addressing your goals
so one of the the tips I would say
is try not to drag your day out too much
where your entire day is full and
structured right from the time you wake
up to the time you go to bed you want to
narrow it down and that that's what
Focus looks like focus is this is the
period of my day where i'm on and it has
a start and an end point to it very very
when we're consciously aware of that but
if you can narrow that down then the
rest of your day becomes this thing
where these that surprise I mentioned
starts to show up it's like oh my God I
want to do that I want to go and do a
little bit extra with this I want to
play around with that and it's generally
going to be felt as or experienced as
things that are seem easy or doable or
enjoyable if our day is too rigidly
structured we never actually get to
experience that it never actually gets
to reveal itself to us which is oh
there's things that there are things
that want to be done that are going to
be helpful to me when going after these
goals so this is kind of about how
you design your day and My Philosophy is
that don't think big think narrow think
small and that's what you consciously
carry responsibility for if you like I'm
just going to do small basic things I'm
going to do them well I'm going to
attune to myself to find out what is the
best use of that small period of time I
have in my day that will give me the
most reward okay then the extra time in
your day is going to be much more
spontaneous and based on what you're
attracted to do or what wants to be done
and there are things that want to be
done that you will feel an attraction to
but we can't experience that unless we
have given it room to reveal itself to
us so one of the but the tip I was going
to mention was try to get to that point
as early as you can in your
day okay you don't because you know if
you're getting to that point and it's
8:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. and and in the
evening night time it's not going to
you're just going to be too exhausted
and it won't actually have a chance to
reveal itself to you now that's assuming
that you will your day will allow you to
do that some people work evening shifts
right and these types of things
but it's a really nice feeling to to to
to engage with your goals in this
additional way once your your standards
have been
met and you start to feel a real sense
of optimism you start to feel a real
sense of um gratitude is the other thing
you start to feel you still feel really
grateful for the fact that you're kind
of entering that flow State maybe more
and more regularly without any sort of
pressure or needing to force yourself
into do it
so use the see the earlier Paths of your
day you know before that um willpower I
guess has been somewhat depleted through
all the decision fatigue that we have in
our day and put those important things
those those important standards around
your goals those EAS easily achieved
standards earlier in your day where your
willpower your decision fatigue is is um
has not been depleted and your willpower
is very very strong that's um that's
super important if we languish a little
in the earlier part of the day the truth
is we're always making decisions even if
they're not related to our goals and the
more of these decisions that we
make throughout the day it's going to be
more difficult to bring ourselves to
take that action
to to commit to Star times to doing
these things that we've that are related
to our
goals so that's just a short
video the I want you to experience what
it's like to be in that bonus period
because you'll be amazed at how
effective you can be some of the most
productive things I've ever created or
done were in that period when it wasn't
about you know this is what I have to do
this is I've already done what I need to
do now this is just additional stuff
that I'm playing around with here and in
that space it's incredible what you can
do in that space of your day but just
you got to design your day and kind of
protect that space and you will be
amazed at what actually comes comes
about without the need for structure
without the need for an intention a
rigid intention and um so keep that in
mind and play around with that idea and
see it as you know call it something
call it spontaneity time call it bonus
time I feel like but it's not goal
related time it's not a it can't be
around I have to do this or a um this
needs to be done that's allowable but in
a small window of time maybe in the
earlier part of your day so hope I'm
clear with that and
hope it's a useful concept and um thanks
for watching and I'll see you again very
soon take care
