What is Karma? Is Karma real? In this interview Kabbalist, Dr. Michael Laitman gives you the Kabbalistic perspective on Karma and the rules of the system in which we all live.

Karma is not a Kabbalistic term, but it is incredibly interesting to learn the Kabbalistic view on prevalent questions, like, do our actions have consequences? Does everything we do come back to us, and what are good deeds versus bad deeds?

Kabbalah explains that we all live in a single uniform system, which is a desire to receive. The will to receive is all that was created, we are all parts of it, and everything begins and ends with it. It was created by the Creator, which is the upper force of love.

The system is operated by the upper force, which is taking it from a state where it’s opposite to the upper force, to the complete equivalence of form with it.
This means we need to go from our initial form of separateness and self-concern to a connected form of mutual care and love.

To understand what good and bad deeds are in this system, we need to understand the system is and what it requires from us.

A good deed is an action that connects everyone. Each one of us is part of this great desire to receive, and all of these parts need to connect, through self-correction. To begin with, we are hostile towards each other. When we act in the direction of connection, it is to the benefit of the entire system, and therefore in our benefit as well.

Bad deeds are whatever doesn’t align with the system’s goal, which is for all the created beings to be connected in goodwill. "
