7 Side Hustles Students Can Start In 2025

Job Search Strategies

The biggest lie that is told to 18, 19 and 20 year olds is that if they go to college, they will surely get a well-paid job.
This lie is instilled in the school system and is reinforced by parents who are stuck in the past.
While this may have been true in my time, it is currently not so true.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that studying is a waste of time.
Many degrees are very useful and the student experience is unforgettable.
However, trusting only one degree to get rich is not the right strategy.
That is why it is so important for students to start a secondary job that has the ability to become something bigger in the future.
You see, I was not rich enough to pay for college, nor academically intelligent, but I always had secondary jobs.
In the end, my secondary jobs became multimillionaire businesses that made me very rich.
That is why today I will analyze 7 secondary jobs that students can start this year.
Honestly, these can apply to anyone, anywhere in the world.
And as I hate those stupid videos that always have the same list of ideas for secondary jobs,
I will share with you examples of the real life of successful people and I will rate them from 1 to 5 in these categories.
How long does it take to learn? How much money do you need? And how difficult is it to earn $1,000 a month?
First idea of secondary job. Short content without a face.
This is Daniel Beaton. Like many of you, he started using social networks for fun at age 13.
Now, at 16, he earns half a million dollars a month creating short content on Snapchat without even showing his face.
It sounds incredible, but it's totally true.
My son Curtis, in fact, found it at the Los Angeles airport and after investigating a little, I can assure you that he is not lying.
So why does he earn so much money doing this?
Well, at the moment there is a big war between Snapchat, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
During the pandemic, TikTok became very popular and caught the attention of the world.
Since then, the different social media platforms have competed for this attention.
The more eyes you have on your application, the more money you can earn with advertisers.
Stay with me because this is where everything starts to make sense.
What these platforms need, more than anything, are content creators.
And what attracts content creators more than anything else? Money! Because we all like a little of that.
This is a unique opportunity in life, since once a platform is established at the top, the competition decreases along with the payments.
So you'll have to start working on this fast if you want to earn about half a million dollars a month, like Daniel.
The people who charge the most are those who create original content, instead of just cutting YouTube content from other people.
Daniel does this using existing videos, but adds different voices in off, music and editions.
This strategy, combined with constant publication, led to extreme growth.
Then it expanded with multiple channels in various niches to attract various audiences.
So, for example, one of his channels deals with rapper updates and the other focuses on live broadcasts.
Now, as for those qualifications, I'll give you a 4 out of 5.
Although making short clips may seem fast and easy, it involves a lot more work than you might think.
And now that I say it, if you usually watch TikTok or Shorts, you'll be much better prepared.
Creating short clips has a lot more to do with understanding human psychology than with a sophisticated edition.
If you can create a good hook and move towards some kind of reward at the end, you will increase the viewing time.
This is the only trick you need to know if you want your videos to go viral and make a lot of money.
Believe me, I've managed to get 7 million followers on TikTok using this same strategy.
The best way to learn this is to watch content in short format daily.
Make it part of your routine. This sounds different from what a lot of people my age will tell you, but I'm not talking about using it as entertainment.
Every time you stop to watch a Short, I want you to ask yourself a simple question.
What intrigued me enough to stop downloading and watch the whole video?
Make a list and long before you realize it, you'll have a bunch of different winning ideas.
Second, how much money do you need?
I'll give this...
a 1 out of 5.
Because if you have a phone and internet connection, you can start.
Also, if you're watching this video, I guess you have both.
Third, how hard is it to earn $1,000 a month?
I'll give this...
a 1 out of 5.
As I said, social media is distributing money to right and left.
Just think that to earn $1,000 a month, all you have to do is be 0.2% as good as Daniel.
And if you think that's not achievable, well, you have to believe a little more in yourself.
Second idea...
Invest.
A lot of people won't agree with me on this, since technically it's not a secondary job.
However, it makes me earn about $17,000 a week, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
It took me a lot of years to get there.
However, I've managed to do it all on my own, without a financial advisor charging me a commission for each investment.
It's really not as complicated as people think.
Of course, I'm not a financial advisor, and investments can go up as well as down.
But my average cost strategy in dollars has worked wonderfully for me over the years.
It's about constantly investing in the market, no matter if it's high or low.
You can do this with almost any stock you want.
However, the real secret weapon are indexed funds.
If you manage to invest $200 a month for 40 years and get an average return of 10% per year,
then you'll have more than $1.2 million.
I know what you're thinking.
How the hell am I going to get a 10% return?
You're out of practice, old man.
Of course, past results are not a guarantee of future returns.
However, in the last 10 years, the average annual return of S&P 500 was 11%.
Okay, but I don't want to wait 40 years to become a millionaire.
That's exactly how you should think.
I didn't want to wait to be old and greedy either.
I hurried up and made quick money with my side jobs.
I started a business and made millions, while I invested almost half of my earnings.
And I multiplied them in the stock market.
It's not a choice between one or the other.
You should consider doing both at the same time.
Now let's move on to the ratings.
Oh, I forgot the picture.
Let's use this one.
First, how much time does it take to learn to invest?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5, because as I said, the basic concepts are extremely simple.
I have several videos on my channel that explain the basic concepts,
such as passive income, the types of accounts you should open, and my favorite, the indexed funds.
Once you master the hard part, you'll see that it's really simple.
Especially with the investment apps that allow you to automate your investments monthly,
so you don't even have to think about them.
My favorite for this type of thing is Trading 212,
so I contacted them to see if they were interested in sponsoring this section of the video.
They agreed, and they also offered free shares for a value of up to £100 to anyone
who uses the Tilbury code when creating an account and deposits just £1.
If you're a beginner, you should review their circular chart function,
since you can see what other people invest their money in,
and then create your own circular chart or copy theirs.
You can configure it so that it automatically invests with the frequency you want,
and your money will be divided between the shares of your chart.
Second, how much money do you need?
I'm going to give this a 1 out of 5, because you can start with just $1,
but I suggest you don't invest all your money in shares.
Make sure to invest it in your secondary job as well.
And third, how hard is it to earn $1,000 a month?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5.
As for me, I don't have to do anything. It's that easy.
However, it took me many years of perseverance to get to this stage.
In my opinion, investment should always be accompanied by a secondary job that generates money quickly.
Third secondary job idea.
Discord building. This is Chris Peters,
and he's very close to earning $15,000 a month building and managing Discord servers.
And he's only 19 years old.
I remember chatting with Chris a couple of years ago.
He must have been about 17 years old then.
I had just started my free Discord group, and I had no idea what I was doing.
He sent me a message and offered to help for free.
Well, I gladly accepted his offer, and he completely renovated my server.
By the way, my free Discord group is still active, so I'll leave a link in the description in case you want to join.
Over the years, I've been more and more impressed by Chris' work ethic and quick thinking,
so it's fair to say that I won't let him work for free anymore.
If you don't know, Discord is an all-in-one communication center that offers chats, text, voice, and video.
It started as just for players, but now it's very versatile, and it's used by all kinds of communities and companies.
There's a great opportunity here.
Because as the use of Discord increases, there are people like me a couple of years ago who have no idea how to operate it.
It's quite complex to confuse a beginner, especially if you're an adult,
but quite simple enough for a young person to learn in a short period of time.
I was one of its first customers.
Just remember to offer a lot of value in advance before requesting any kind of payment.
If you do a good job and become indispensable, you'll start making a lot of money.
Now is the time for the qualifications.
First, how long does it take to actually learn this job?
I'll give this a 2.5 out of 5,
since you can join groups with basic concepts in a couple of hours.
However, doing really complicated things can take longer, depending on your knowledge of technology.
I asked Chris for his best advice to learn Discord skills, and he told me that it's important to join several communities.
This way, you'll learn what makes a successful server.
Second, how much time do you need?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5.
You can start just with your computer.
Although finding clients, planning functions, and customizing the Discord service to fit your client's niche can take time.
At first, you should be able to manage all of this yourself.
Third, how hard is it to earn $1,000 a month?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5.
Let's look at the numbers.
Assuming you can find 4 clients with the signing of a monthly contract,
you would only have to charge $250 to each one, and boom!
That becomes $1,000 a month.
And honestly, if you find the right clients, you could charge them a lot more than this.
Fourth idea of secondary work.
Online coaching.
This is Jack Jefferson.
He decided to leave his job, medianly remunerated from 9 to 5 in London,
to dedicate himself to his full-time online physical training secondary job,
since he had started generating $7,000 a month.
You might think that this is only $14,000 more than the fixed job he had in London.
However, now he has something much more valuable.
Freedom.
He can do his job from anywhere in the world, as long as he has access to an internet connection,
to be able to communicate with his clients and review his progress.
Jefferson now has more than 40 clients and his number grows every month.
I understand that not everyone is an expert in gyms, and this may seem a bit specific.
However, note that the title of this idea is not only online physical training, but online coaching.
That's because there are countless things you can teach people online and get the same results as Jack.
From my recent trips to Dubai or Miami, all the young millionaires I know
seem to come from the field of online coaching.
They all have some kind of information product and earn thousands.
It is undoubtedly an absolute gold mine.
I realized this just recently, since most of the millionaires I met before this
have their own physical products, like me, with my range of remote-controlled models.
The world is changing completely.
People really value online support and experience.
This industry did not exist when I was young.
And now, let's go with the grades.
First, how long has it been since you learned to do online coaching?
I'll give this a 2 out of 5.
Because if you already have a skill that people are willing to pay for,
you just need to learn how to pack it well and sell it.
Once you've created this process, you can use and repeat the formula.
And guess what? This is what Jack does.
He starts by doing an incorporation session to understand the needs and objectives of each client.
Then he develops personalized nutrition plans that detail breakfast, lunch and dinner,
along with personalized fitness plans specifying training and rest days.
Then he organizes periodic reviews in which he guides his clients through video comments.
I hope you can see that this planning can be easily adapted to many types of coaching.
I think the key to making good money relatively quickly
is to offer a degree of personalization instead of just selling an online course,
since people are fed up with that.
Second, how much money do you need?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5, since you only need your laptop and you can start.
Of course, this means that you already have a skill that you can teach.
It could cost you a little more if you first have to learn a skill.
Third, how difficult is it to earn $1,000 a month?
I'll give it a 1 out of 5 on the difficulty scale, because from what I've seen, it's incredibly easy.
People are lazy, and although they could probably learn these things from a book,
they don't want to waste their time doing it.
They would rather spend some money and be supplied with information.
Remember, people pay for comfort.
Fifth idea of secondary work.
IA animation.
This is Mercy.
He is responsible for all the animations you see on my channel,
and earns between $8,000 and $10,000 a month creating them for multiple clients.
This secondary work is very interesting,
because the IA is the biggest technological advance there has been since the Internet.
Just think about the number of multimillionaires that have been created.
Despite the continuous rumors,
you may be surprised to see how few companies have started using it.
You see, there are five stages for the adoption of technology, and they are the following.
First, there are the early innovators, which represent 2.5% of the population.
They are people who are willing to take risks and go against the current.
They would go out to buy the new Samsung Fold or the new Apple Vision Pro in its first official launch.
Secondly, there are the early adopters, which represent 13.5% of the population.
Like the innovators, they are willing to take risks.
However, they prefer to try the product before forming an opinion and recommending it to others.
Thirdly, we have the early majority, which represents 34% of the population.
They are people who look at product reviews before making a purchase.
I think this is where we are currently with AI, in the first stage of early majority adoption.
This is followed by the late majority, which represents another 34%,
and finally, the laggards, which make up a surprising 16%.
When you reach my age, you discover that most people in the category of laggards
prefer to stay with what they know and really don't want to learn anything new.
Now, this is the important thing. Whether you like it or not, AI will go through this cycle.
So let me ask you this very simple question.
Would you rather adopt it now or wait for everyone else to benefit and end up using it anyway?
There are many creative ways to use AI, but let's go back to Mercy to give a solid example.
He uses tools like ChatGPT to help him write his ideas, and then uses Meet Journey to bring those ideas to life.
Let's get into the ratings.
At the right time, I'll give it a 4 out of 5.
Although AI can be part of the heavy work for you,
Mercy still took months to master animation skills at first level,
which helped him attract customers and build relationships to maintain the flow of cash.
That's why I recommend you master the basic principles of animation
and actively participate in the industry's networks to continue perfecting your skills.
Secondly, how much money do you need?
I would give it a 1 out of 5, since we are in an early stage of the adoption curve.
You don't need many expensive tools to stand out.
When Mercy started his secondary job, he managed to appear in Andrew Tate's Instagram story,
thanks to some illustrations of AI he had made.
This gave him the promotion he needed to build a solid customer base.
This only shows that now you don't need a lot of money to have an impact.
Thirdly, how difficult is it to make $1,000 a month?
I'll give it a 2 out of 5.
As online creators become more and more popular, there is more money flowing into space.
Creators want to stand out, and adding animations is an excellent way to make their videos look more premium and attractive.
So start now and go so far that late adopters will never be able to reach you.
Sixth idea of secondary work, reselling luxury goods.
He is Ben Gallagher, a normal guy who started reselling luxury goods online as a secondary job.
In 2023 he generated more than $9 million with his business Lux Collective.
He even recently appeared in Dragon's Den, which is a bit like Shark Tank.
And he received an investment from Stephen Bartlett in exchange for a 3% share of the capital.
I am very proud of how far he has come since he appeared on my old podcast years ago.
The resale market for luxury goods reached $39,230 million in 2023.
So it is not surprising that Ben is having so much success.
The growing millennial population is driving this interest in the resale of luxury goods,
along with the culture of social media, which increases the importance of showing designer brands.
Resale is a very interesting secondary job, since now, with the internet, you can sell to anyone in the world, which gives you access to a global market.
Well, let's look at the ratings.
I give it a 4 out of 5.
Ben spends countless hours learning how to identify falsifications, learning about the market and looking for the best purchases.
In addition to looking for brand articles such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel and even Hermes.
Of course, you can imagine that it is very important that he knows what he is doing, since only a slip could ruin the reputation of his company.
Ben must carefully examine each bag in search of smell, seams and material.
He even sends samples to a company in New York that uses microscopic technology to examine the exact structure of the materials used.
So if you are passionate about design articles and you are willing to spend time learning all the details, it is worth trying.
Second, how much money do you need?
I give this a 3.5 out of 5, since these design articles can be quite expensive.
That is, some of these bags cost up to $ 30,000.
And that's the second-hand price.
Many of these high-end bags maintain their value, or perhaps decrease slightly.
I mean, it's practically a value bag of design bags.
Maybe that's why my son Curtis has bought so many bags from his girlfriend.
Or maybe he's just a detailer.
But of course, you don't have to start with articles like this.
You can buy them at a more reasonable price and go up.
That's what Ben did.
You don't have to pay for marketing either, since you can take advantage of social media to grow your client base for free.
I mean, Ben found gold on TikTok when he started uploading his fashion content.
And now he has accumulated more than 1.6 million followers.
Third, how difficult is it to earn $ 1,000 a month?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5.
Since when you deal with luxury products, the profit margins are usually very good.
Combine this with average sales and you can earn this amount of money with just one article.
The complicated thing about this secondary job is getting the initial money to start.
And that's something you don't have to worry about if...
You write online.
This is Adam, and he earns more than $ 10,000 a month writing online.
Before you get carried away, he's not writing the next Harry Potter or Game of Thrones.
This type of writing doesn't generate good income until you publish yourself and achieve great success.
Which has a probability of 1 in a million for many.
Adam, on the other hand, writes what really has demand and publishes where readers are.
Online.
He started writing blog posts about his travels to get passive income and live anywhere in the world.
Then this led him to work as an editor for big influencers.
He got a client who took him to another, and then to another.
He told me, when I offer a service, I always try to be exclusive and do it in such a way that no one else could.
There will always be someone cheaper than you, but there won't always be someone more expensive.
Find clients who can pay a premium service and offer them an unparalleled service.
Words can make you look smart.
Or they can do the opposite, depending on how they are used.
That's why companies hire editors.
Basically, sellers in written format.
And not just web pages.
People need quality editors for all kinds of things.
From scripts for TikTok to Twitter threads, content is king.
And the wizard behind all this is usually the writer.
First of all, how much time does it take to learn to write?
I'll give this a 5 out of 5.
Because it's one of the most difficult things to do.
Not physically, but mentally.
Especially at this time, when it's so easy to get distracted with notifications.
To become a good writer, you need to reach a state of fluidity.
And that is achieved when you are able to concentrate for long periods of time.
It's a skill in extension.
The quality in decline of movies and TV shows can be attributed in part to the inability of new writers to concentrate.
So if you can master it, then you could make a lot of money.
Second, how much money do you need?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5.
Because honestly, you only need the minimum.
Even a cheap phone would do.
This is an ideal side job for people who want to make money instantly.
Without having to worry too much about updating their equipment.
Third, how difficult is it to earn $1,000 a month?
I'll give this a 1 out of 5.
Once you master the art of selling through your writing, you can earn incredible amounts of money.
I'm talking about more than $500 an hour in many cases.
It all depends on how good you are at making connections.
Your ability with words and how fast you can write.
Some people earn up to $50,000 for a single website.
Maybe you're wondering, why so much?
Well, it's all a matter of value.
If you earn $50,000 for a website, and the result is a monthly profit of $200,000 to $400,000.
Wouldn't you say it's worth it?
It's about the sales you offer.
Make your customers rich, even richer.
And then ask for your slice of the cake.
