A great way to spread kindness is with our Kindness Tree competition. All WISD schools partake in the project with an elementary and secondary school selected as winners. Mike Gonzalez with more.

It's a QR code on the wall at Margo Elementary that delivers a powerful message.
Hi, my name is Elia Aguirre. Kindness means paying it forward.
Hi, my name is Nathalia Morroquin.
Kindness is important to me because it spreads happiness.
And it is to motivate people about kindness.
It starts at the ceiling and into the wall of one of the main hallways
And look at the spectacular work.
Flowers, butterflies, birds, stars, all of which is surrounded and consists of positive notes.
Every boy and girl at the school has had a hand in this effort.
And the campus is the winner of the kindness tree contest for the elementary level.
People like walk by and they look at the tree.
And then like they could be like sad or something.
And then maybe when they see this tree, they can get like happy.
And they can think about kindness and joy.
Another creative cool feature.
This is the button of the tree.
Kindness is a quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate toward others.
It basically says what kindness means.
Very happy that there is a lot of efforts out there.
Everybody is talking the same language, right?
We need bullying prevention.
That is the message out there.
Big Garza Middle School is familiar with the contest.
The campus is now a winner for the second time at the secondary level.
Everybody here gets along at Big Garza.
And everybody's nice to each other, especially even more nice after this tree.
A kindness tree fully decked with lights, ornaments, and notice the green leaves.
It consists of over 900 positive messages from the student body.
These messages, I feel like they make a big impact.
Just like if we're feeling like bad, like one day,
we can just come look at the tree and it just makes our day better.
In the few years since the project began, there has been a positive effect across WISD.
Yes, the message is definitely being sent out there.
And so bullying has decreased tremendously.
For KWS TV, I'm Mike Gonzalez.
