The Bird of Paradise was busy building a cozy nest for the coming winter. It flew far and wide, picking the softest grass and the most beautiful leaves for its home.

One day, it found a bright red oak leaf. Excited, it carried it in its beak. As it passed the Black Starling’s nest, the Starling asked for the leaf. Without hesitation, the Bird of Paradise gave it away.

Soon after, the Bird of Paradise discovered a branch of delicate pink flowers. When it heard the little woodpecker chicks admiring the blooms, it gently let the flowers go, so the chicks could enjoy them.

Finally, it found some golden dried grass, perfect for its nest. On the way home, it saw the Plum Bird shivering in a bare nest. The Bird of Paradise used the grass to shield its friend from the wind. But the Plum Bird was still cold.

Determined to help, the Bird of Paradise plucked its own soft feathers and lined the Plum Bird’s nest, keeping its friend warm.

Winter came, and icy winds blew through the Bird of Paradise’s own nest. With so few feathers left on its body, it shivered and looked frail.

A Drongo saw this and called all the birds to help. Black Starling, Woodpecker, Plum Bird, Kingfisher, and many others flew to rebuild the Bird of Paradise’s nest. Everyone worked together, and soon it was warm and beautiful.

Then, the Drongo had an idea. Every bird gave one of its special feathers—deep red, bright yellow, striking blue, pure black—and together they made a beautiful, colorful coat for the Bird of Paradise.

From that day on, the Bird of Paradise wore a bright, multicolored coat—a gift filled with love, gratitude, and friendship.

Moral of the Story:
A kind heart earns respect, love, and lasting friendship. Always help others and show compassion—your kindness will return in wonderful ways.
