Welcome to Bali!
We have moved to Bali for the next three weeks. It's so nice, we've got this awesome villa,
just check this out. One thing that is the best bit, the main feature, is the pool. Just have a
look at that. Every time we get up and the sun is shining, we literally just want to jump in there.
We've never had our own pool before. How Bali is that? We've also got like an open plan, sort of
relaxing area. There's like a little sofa there, like a rattan sofa. We've got table and chairs
there. We've got our own kitchen, so we can do some cooking. So literally go to the supermarket,
get food and cook it here. Saves loads of money. In the back, in that bit in there,
there's a fridge freezer. So it's literally a fully functional kitchen. It's just like a nice
sort of relax area, kitchen area, open plan. As you can see, there's no walls there, but we do have
a thatched roof up there and a ceiling fan to keep us nice and cool and protected from the rain.
So this is really nice. We've never ever stayed in a property like this before. So we've got like a
living area there and then we'll go through to the bedrooms. So the main bedroom, mine and Tamera's
Bella's also staying in here as well because of the pool. We like to keep her in with us so she's
not getting up and wandering around. We've got the master bed there. Bella is on the mattress
down there. And this is again, just really nice and spacious. Everything we need. We've got like
a vanity there. We've got wardrobes, everything we need in here. And this is enclosed. We've got
sliding doors there and we have got air con in here to keep it nice and cool because it literally
is 30 degrees every single day. It's hot here, but wow, it just feels so cool to be in a villa,
open plan, own pool. And then this, this is another awesome bit. Just have a look at this.
We are in to the bathroom. Just look at that bathtub and it's literally outside. We've got a tree
in the bathroom, which is insane. We've got his and her sinks over here. Really, really good.
And again, it's just cool, quirky. It's really different. It literally feels like you're
showering outside with nature. Yes, you do get some bugs in here and things like this. All part
of the Bali villa experience. Out of the bedroom there, you've got like this sun lounge area there
with a bit of decking. So you can have a sunbath and that is overlooking the pool area. So the
girls' room is pretty much just like the master room. It's a bit smaller. They've got their own
big bed here. Olivia and Scarlett are staying in here. Like I said, Bella's in with us. They've got
their own TV, which has got Netflix on. Our TV in our room has also got Netflix on and you've got
Wi-Fi here as well included, which is also really, really good and efficient. They've also got their
own bathroom as well, which is another one that's kind of outdoors, but it's really, really cool for
them and they're enjoying having that. There's one more thing that I haven't shown you yet.
We need to go upstairs. Yes, we have an upstairs. We're going up right now and that's because we
have a roof terrace. We've never had a roof terrace before and it's got a thatched roof as well. So we
can come up here, chill out. The girls come from here. They've got a bit of extra space if they want
to do some homeschooling, want to be on their own a little bit. We've got this nice extra area to come
up. It's nice and breezy up here as well because it's a little bit higher up. We've got a lovely
view of rice fields right there. We've also got a table and chairs at the back. We want to come
and have lunch up here. It's just a nice little added extra and what a villa. What a place to
stay for the next three weeks. We're super happy to be here and the total cost for this is £50
per night. That's internet, Netflix, gas, electric, water, everything included. So I think that's
really really good. It's also in a great location. It's in between Seminyak and Canggu. So we can
literally get to either of those like within 10 minutes. It's super super nice and convenient. Now
we're going to head out for the afternoon and it's time to try surfing here in Bali for the
first time. Let's go.
We are ready to go to the beach. We're going to take you to, we think it's like the best beach
for families here in Bali. So we're going to go there now and we're going to try surfing. But one
of the main things when coming to Bali that people have like an issue about is the traffic. Now this
is right outside of our villa complex. Here's the traffic. As you can see, it's gridlock right there
all the way through. On the other side, cars are like coming down, no problem. But like the way
that actually we want to go is jam-packed. So this is going to Seminyak this way and it's going to
Canggu that way. But we're going to a beach in Seminyak. So we're going to take you with us to
show you what the traffic's like and tell you how long it is. We're going to book a Grab. So Grab is
what we use here and we are, we've got a six-seater coming, a six-seater plus and it's going to cost, what's 43k?
About just over two pounds, which is crazy because it's about 30 minutes away this beach.
So but looking now like they're going to come but they're already in traffic even though I think
they're literally just down that road there. Yes. And we could probably walk and get there quicker.
They're stuck in that jam. Yeah but with that as well like the pathway is really hard to walk with
children because they're quite slim so we do have to get in a Grab even though you might walk a
little bit faster than the traffic. Yes, sometimes. So we're going to see how long this is going to take us
and I wonder if we could actually beat it if we jogged it. The thing is everybody comes about if
you're single or you're in a couple everybody just gets on pets but we can't get on a scooter
because we're a family of five but if you're on a scooter you literally can go up and down the
paths so you don't really get stuck in traffic so if you are coming here as an individual or
as a couple just get a moped. It's really cheap and super easy and everyone kind of just goes
on mopeds but we're a family of five and one thing we were concerned about was actually getting grabs
here and how it works but you can actually get six-seater grabs instantly. They're so readily
available so getting around has been no problem whatsoever you just get stuck in a little bit of
traffic but we're gonna get in the Grab now and we'll tell you how long it takes us. It's meant
to be a 30-minute journey. Here we go, here is our Grab and here's some head drivers on the path
which is a thing to do in Bali but we're gonna get in the Grab. Look at this, here is our six-seater
Grab turned up pretty quickly actually. Tell you what, the aircon is really good in this as well.
We have made it. The Grab drive was actually really really nice. How long did it take roughly?
Half an hour, over half an hour. It's only about five kilometres down the road.
Okay so I think it was meant to take about 20 minutes when we searched it on Apple Maps so it
took over half an hour so there's a bit of traffic but it wasn't like jam-packed gridlocked and we've
heard like horror stories of being stuck in a car for like hours trying to get down the road so it
wasn't like that as you could see some of the clips. It was pretty clear but the best way to get around
is by a ped but obviously with children that's quite difficult.
It looks so good, wow, it looks so nice. We've got the surfboards here. So we've come now to
the girls, we've got ourselves a little beanbag area and the girls are already in the sea. The
waves look incredible, the weather's incredible and wow what a day we're gonna have. I think
I can't stop these girls though, just check this out, they're already in.
I think they'll probably want to do... UK girls! Bella! UK! The girls are in the sea, we've got our little
spot, we might do some bodyboarding, might do some surfing, I'm unsure but it's a gorgeous
day today and it is really really nice here.
Okay we are in prime position and one thing we've been getting every single day is a fresh coconut
and wow. It's so good. I think these are the best tasting, like they're so nice from Bali. They're so nice, they're massive as well
and they are a little bit of like a weight lifting thing when you lift it up, like oh yeah.
Literally, so the coconuts cost about £1.50, fresh and they're refrigerated so like they're
ice cold inside and this, we've got like an umbrella, we've got four beanbags and a table
and that was about £4 for the day, yeah for the whole day. The grab drive here was just over £2
so it's really affordable as a family here and like Tamara said, is this a family friend of each.
There's loads of kids here, double six it's called and it just seems so nice for families. The weather
is spot on today, the surf is looking pretty good so hopefully we're going to get some lessons in
and give it a go but what a spot, double six here in Seminyak, Bali, wow. Okay we've been here for
about an hour, we've got used this awesome beach, it's so good but now it's time to level it up.
Me and Olivia are first, we are going surfing so we need to have a surfing lesson. Olivia's rash vest
it's quite big, I've got mine a bit above same size, Bella's finding it funny. So what do you
think Olivia, do you think we're going to be okay? Yeah. Okay we're going to have a practice surfing, we've been
bodyboarding and we've been okay but we are ready for the surf now. Good luck guys, good luck. I will
be behind the camera and see what I can catch but I think they might go quite far out, I'm not sure
Let's go, the surfing coach is ready, let's go. Nice to meet you, Chris. I'm Ozzy, nice to meet you, Chris.
Nice to meet you Ozzy. What's your name? Olivia. Olivia, yes. Beautiful name. And we have Marco over here, the main man.
Right, in two, one, up, up, left, right, straight left. Yay, and make sure you put your front foot
right in the middle right there. In the middle. That's good, that's good.
That was good, yeah. Yeah, let's try again. And then you're just in there. Yeah, just follow the board, crossing the wave.
Up, left and right. Awesome. Okay, lesson done, let's go hit the waves.
I think this lesson is complete and I think they're coming out. I think I've got a few
shots of them managing to get up. I am so amazed at how good Olivia was on that. I cannot wait to
give it a go now. Oh my goodness, you were so good. Give me a high five. It was so fun. Yeah, was it good?
You were absolutely awesome at it, sweetheart. All right, really, really good. You won out? Yes.
Yeah, good job. Here's the man himself. How did it go? Was it good? They got up. Amazing.
She was so good, right? So, so good. So proud. Really, really good.
Wow, what an experience surfing was. I think it's safe to say we all absolutely love this beach.
Double six here in Bali. It's definitely family-friendly. We couldn't get Scarlet out of the
water. She was just in there body-boarding the whole time, catching the waves, and next time I
think it's going to be your turn to go surfing. So, we'll be back here, but it's definitely one,
if you come to Bali as a family, double six. Come to double six, it's so awesome.
Right, I'm just going to add on to that, double six is so good because it is actually, oh, I'm
really close to the camera. Double six is really good because there is a toilet and a shower option
and you pay a minimal amount to just have a shower. The girls managed to get changed in the queue before.
Thank you.
What a nice guy. What a nice guy. Foot wash.
So, we've just come into this little bar right on the beach where we just walked over.
We must have got here at a quiet period, which is pretty good. I don't know whether
people like lunch in Bali and don't really eat dinner here. I don't know.
I know, it's really, really quiet. Who knows, but we are here for dinner and it seems really easy
to eat quite healthy in Bali. There's always salads on the menu. We've got a Caesar salad
each and they cost around £2.78 each, which is really, really good. Olivia has got her usual pizza
after surfing. Scarlett, what are you having? Cheese, but I also got this drink called the
Monkey and it's so good. Meal finished. Total cost was £26 for all of us, which is super cheap and nice.
However, disclaimer, the portion sizes were pretty small, so we're all still a little bit hungry,
but that's okay. We enjoyed that. The day at the beach was fantastic. Double six, such a good beach
location. We're going to call a grab now and get back. It is now ten to seven, so hopefully the
traffic won't be insane to go back. It doesn't look too bad at the moment. Car's still moving.
I'm going to call a grab and get back to the villa.
And we are back at the villa. It's just over the road and the drive back was really quite quick.
It was about 25 minutes, so better than earlier in the day. The traffic was no problem tonight.
We're just about to go in Emma, which is our local, to pick up some supplies before we head back in.
Hello.
In we go. Hello. So Emma is basically like the Bali version of 7-Eleven in Thailand. It's got
everything in here and we usually just pick up supplies from here to take over to the villa,
but it's literally got everything we need. We get water from here because we don't drink
the tap water obviously, so we have to buy big bottles of water, but it's pretty cheap
and it's got all the drinks and stuff we have. Coke Zero right there. It's got European Red Bull.
The only thing they don't have here is Monster Ultra, which they do have in Malaysia where we
spend most of our time. So there's no monsters in here, which is pretty gutting because we love a
Maybe they sell them in other parts of Indonesia, but they don't have it here. But we can grab a
Red Bull and we've also got the local beer, which is Bintang. I've had a few of those recently and
they're pretty good. You can get Lemon Bintang, Crystal Bintang or the normal one and again it's
pretty cheap. Also if you're coming to Bali, these are the plugs that you need. The two circular
prongs. So we had to buy two of these because we didn't have any, but again you can get them from
in Myanmar. These are the salads. Like what we do, we buy one of these between me and Chris for lunch,
half it because there's actually loads in there and a bit of our own sauce and then we grab
one of these pots and mix it in, have half each and I think that is a pretty good lunch and it is
absolutely, I think it's about under a pound each. It's absolutely ridiculous cost. So I'm
going to get that ready for tomorrow because sometimes these salads are in stock. So I'm
going to get it in now. Also I've never seen this chocolate before coming here, Silver Queen. It's just full
of cashew nuts, which is so good. I like this white chocolate one and also I get this matcha one.
Sometimes I have this for breakfast, it's a good start to the day. But yeah, cashew nuts and chocolate,
Silver Queen, another Bali special. Are they going to be good? Good. Suk sama. Suk sama. Thank you.
And that is a day in the life of our current situation here in Bali. It's been such a good
day. The girls are fast asleep in their room over there. Here is the pool look and the villa at
night. It just looks so nice with the lights and stuff. Me and Tamara sat in our outdoor living room
and it's so nice and warm. It's probably about 28 degrees right now. We've got a fan up here on the
roof to keep us nice and cool. We'll just sit out here and relax. And every now and then you can hear
some sort of birds and geckos. We've got geckos. We will stay tuned because there are going to be
more stuff about the wildlife being here. Living outdoors means the girls have to really get used
to all of the different wildlife here. And there's a gecko here that makes an absolutely ridiculously
loud noise. So hoping that we're going to get that on camera because that is what we hear every single
night and throughout the night as well. But it's really nice sitting here nice and relaxed and
we're just chilling out after that insane day at the beach. It was absolutely awesome. Such a good
day and such a good time here in Bali so far. We've got another two weeks here so we're really
setting in nicely and we just love this villa. It's so so nice. So hope you enjoyed this video.
Please give it a big thumbs up if you did. Don't forget to subscribe and we shall see you
in the next one. Bye!
