How I Got 30 Million Views on Social Media

Hello, so in this video I want to explain the single rule concept, strategy, approach,
whatever you want to call it, that got me over 30 million views personally on a TikTok
account of mine, as well as 10 plus million views on Instagram, and if you include reposts
and news and media outlets reposting those videos, as well as other people, you're talking
100 plus million views off this single concept.
So this whole thing started when I was posting fitness videos back in the day.
I was in middle school, early high school, and I never really got that many views, and
what I started doing was just asking myself, well, what do people want, right?
I didn't really know because my videos weren't getting views.
If people really, really wanted the concept around the videos I was making and they really
wanted those videos, they would watch them and I'd get views.
So I think as a premise, you have to work to what people want, right?
And if they want, maybe it's better video quality, maybe it's not your concept, but
if you're not getting views and you've been making a lot of videos for a long period of
time, just like I was, something is off there.
That's not like, oh, it'll work one day.
That's like something is not working if you're repeating that same concept over and over
again.
So I started just testing a lot of different ideas, a number of very sporadic, different
concepts to figure out what works.
Unfortunately, none of that experimentation worked out.
What did work out is TikTok and then just random chance where I was like, okay, this
is something I could try again on TikTok since I've just started.
And then that ended up getting, I think, 10 million views in a month or something.
And what that was, was a challenge where I did a thousand squats a day for 30 days.
And the reason that I wanted to do something to best work was that it removed the creative
challenge from video making.
I knew that I would wake up, I would do a thousand squats, I would make an interesting
video with one twist daily, like a different squat format, something happening in my life,
just whatever that may be.
And I could just wake up and I could make that video concept and I could stick with
it.
The beauty about that as well was that you don't have to stop at squats, so you can go
to any other exercise.
And now you have months or years of video content in the pipeline, assuming people like
that first concept.
And it turned out they really did, right?
Day 29 of that first challenge got, I don't know how many millions of views on TikTok.
So the lesson there for me and the concept, or I guess the two-step approach that I think
will help you on social media, and certainly was the only reason that I was able to actually
make something of that first kind of initial challenge, is to first just figure out one
single concept that people engage with.
And that can be as small as on a 10 second basis, people like this style of video, people
like you doing this, like being in this place, just whatever it may be, just one winning
concept.
And then once you have that concept, don't leave it.
Do nothing else for as long as it takes to just build a following that engages with you
so you have the flexibility and the freedom to do something else.
Instead, just milk that concept as much as you can for months, for years, to create things
that you know that people engage with.
Of course, you can throw just creative videos, different videos in there every so often.
But if you look at all the very, very large, very successful creators on YouTube, on TikTok,
on Instagram, on any platform really, or at least the vast majority of them, and you should
play to the rule, not the exception, that's how they did it.
They found a winning concept and they just stuck with that.
And people more often than not love them for it, right?
People are like, oh no, this is the, I'm seeing the same thing every day or something that's
slightly different.
They're invested in that and that's what they're used to.
That's what they connect your personality online to.
So that's the concept.
I hope it works for you.
Leave any comments down there and I'll see you in the next one.
