Yep, the game is going to go ahead today.
So the work behind me at the moment isn't going to be in vain.
You can probably see the Liverpool ground staff at the moment
just clearing that surface snow from the Anfield surface.
Also work going on in the stands, the main stand away to my left hand side,
just clearing the snow from the entrances
and amongst the seats as well in that main stand.
Obviously, we've been informed that the game is now going to go ahead.
Liverpool put a statement out on social media a short while ago as well.
They said that today's fixture against Manchester United will go ahead as planned.
Two safety meetings were held earlier to assess the weather and travel conditions.
We thank everyone involved in helping us to get the game on today.
If you're traveling to Anfield, then please take care.
We look forward to seeing you later on.
Obviously, you mentioned the work that's gone out,
that's gone on in terms of getting this game on as well,
because those two meetings that took place this morning,
the Ground Safety Advisory Committee for the city met at nine o'clock,
first of all, to assess conditions.
And at that point, it has to be said the roads were treacherous.
The pathways leading up to Anfield as well was a real concern
over the safety of people attending today's game as well.
And of course, the logistics of getting the staff to Anfield
to get the game on, the stewarding, the police as well.
However, there has been a massive effort outside to clear
the snow from around the approaches to Anfield.
That has obviously been done.
Still work going on, it has to be said as well.
But it's enough to satisfy that meeting that took place
just before midday today to to be able to assess what is happening,
what the conditions are like around the ground and to think that they can
get this game on and it would be relatively safe for everyone concerned.
He'll be attending Anfield today as well.
It'll be a relief, you would imagine, from a playing point of view
to Arne Slott and his players, of course, because only a month or so ago,
the Merseyside Derby was postponed when Storm Darragh hit.
And those high winds caused that game to be postponed as well.
So Liverpool were facing the potential
for, I suppose, a bit of a backlog in terms of fitting those two
those two games in were today to be postponed.
But it hasn't been.
We are going to get the game and it will, of course, be live on Sky Sports as well.
