Xin chao! This is Dave, The Kuripot Traveler. In this Vietnam travel vlog, let's answer the question how much money do you need to prepare for your Hanoi Vietnam travel this 2024? I'll share with you my all-in expenses and budget breakdown for my 5 days vacation. Furthermore, I'll provide you with the best budget travel tips for you to maximize your Vietnam adventure!
Pedicabs are so fun.
So just 5 p.m. things here in Hanoi.
4,000 for a 5 days and 5 nights of Vietnam travel?
How did I do this?
Watch this vlog to find out.
Just kidding.
So guys, how are you all?
I am Dave and I am the Kuripot Traveler.
And for this vlog, I will share with you my expenses in Taiwan.
I mean, Vietnam adventures.
This year, we went to 3 countries.
Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
And personally, my favorite travel destination was my Vietnam trip.
I celebrated my birthday there.
And on top of that, most of all,
Vietnam is an underrated country for me.
There are so many surprises that will surprise you when you visit this country.
The food, the natural wonders, and the chaotic Hanoi city.
The bustling, vibrant city of Hanoi.
Something that I really enjoyed.
Vietnam is also the cheapest country I've been to so far.
So yes, you heard it right.
4,000 for a pocket money.
Actually, what I spent for pocket money is 3,600 pesos.
So how did I do this?
One thing, book what you can book prior to your trip.
Of course, the flight ticket, the hotel, accommodation,
the different activities via Klook that you can book.
Book it before you travel.
It's cheaper if you book what you need to book online.
We'll break it down and deal down my expenses.
For the expenses before my trip, it was 12,101.
Then my pocket money was 3,631.
Yes, let's do it one by one.
For my flight ticket, it was 5,183.48.
Back to Manila, to Hanoi, Hanoi to Manila.
And no baggage.
We were only there for 5 days, so I didn't need to bring a lot of stuff.
Aside from my expenses, I was also able to save on clothes.
I didn't need to check in baggage.
So I was able to book this during sale.
Aside from your flight ticket, you also need to pay the travel tax.
Of course, before our trip, we'll also book accommodation.
Months before, we already booked our accommodation.
You can stay in a guest house, hotel, hostel, or accommodation for sharing.
But there were 4 of us, my friends.
So we stayed in one room in a budget hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi.
So what we spent on accommodation per person, 4 of us, was 2,433.75 pesos.
Per night, it was 1,700 pesos plus.
So far, this is the cheapest hotel accommodation.
And the hotel is good.
I'll comment the hotel's link below.
I booked this via Agoda.
And if you're going to book in the old quarter, that's a tip.
If you're going to book in the old quarter, I believe for first-timers,
this is the perfect area where you can book.
There are a lot of people around, a lot of shopping, a lot is happening.
It's very vibrant and bustling.
We also booked, before our trip, different activities.
Then, airport transfer.
So for the airport transfer, we actually arrived in Hanoi at 8 o'clock.
So our airport transfer, it's worth 8.57.
That's for 4.
Okay.
From airport to the hotel itself.
So of course, as an individual, our cost was 214.25.
And then, going back to the airport from the hotel,
we also booked the airport transfer from KLOOK.
It's worth 682.44.
And then, our cost was 171.25.
So it's very convenient to do airport transfer,
especially if you have a lot of stuff,
if you have luggage,
or especially if it's an early morning, you should already be at the airport.
Because our flight to Manila, I guess it was 8 a.m.
Yeah, it was 8 a.m.
That's why we really needed to do airport transfer.
You can't miss the Halong Bay.
The Halong Bay cruise, it's 2,201 pesos.
It's a whole day trip in Halong Bay.
So Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
And alongside Puerto Princesa, Palawan in 2011,
it was named as one of the Seven Wonders of Nature.
The Halong Bay is really beautiful.
And the cruise is very luxurious.
And another activity that we booked is the puppet show, water puppet show.
That's in Old Quarter.
So it's 277 pesos.
And we booked all of these from KLOOK.
I will comment the links below.
And you can use my promo code, Dave Gino.
So if I have a new promo code, by the time you watch this,
I will just edit the new promo code in the comment section.
All of these, I booked before my trip.
And it's in 12,101 pesos.
So now, my expenses in Vietnam,
it's in 3,631 pesos.
So this is my pocket money.
So at least you have an idea of how much you need to prepare
when you already booked what you need to book
and when you're already in Vietnam.
For the meals and drinks,
Vietnam is a heaven for food lovers.
The food in Vietnam is delicious.
For meals and drinks,
we reached 1,323 pesos.
It's okay for a five-day trip.
In Old Quarter, actually,
you'll see a lot of Michelin Guide food.
So the Michelin Guide is a recognition for value for money.
It's delicious but it's worth eating.
Actually, the food averages from 100 to 150 pesos.
And the banh mi, which is very famous,
is in 69 pesos.
And the pho that we ate is in 150.
It's in 150 pesos.
You guys can watch my Vietnam vlogs
to get an idea of where I eat.
Actually, the one I really enjoyed was the bun cha
and the cha ka.
So the bun cha is like grilled pork.
So grilled pork in noodles.
Egg coffee, you should try that.
We also went to McDonald's
just to taste the McDonald's in Vietnam.
To see the difference from other McDonald's in the world.
Their McDonald's has vegetables.
I just ordered chicken there.
It's a bit expensive compared to our chicken here.
But their chicken has vegetables and it's really big.
Even the rice is big.
I just separated my expenses for the street food galore.
Every weekend, Old Quarter is closed.
You'll see a lot of stalls there.
The night market is open.
I spent 161 pesos on that food trip.
I ate 4 street foods.
So the average is 30 pesos to 90 pesos.
It's already cheap.
You can try a lot of things.
Pork skewers, smoked ice cream.
That's my favorite there.
It's 92 pesos.
It can be shared by 4 people.
So we shared it.
The vibrant nightlife of Vietnam.
Let's break down what I spent on our nightlife there.
In total, I spent 127 pesos on drinks.
The cheapest beer in the world is in Vietnam.
You can find it on the internet if you search.
It's Biahoy.
It's worth 23 pesos.
The most expensive beer I bought there is 103 pesos.
It's a Vietnamese beer.
The most expensive drink I bought there is the whiskey sour.
It's 517.5 pesos.
It's expensive because we were at Sky Bar.
It was for my birthday.
We went to Sky Bar.
It has a good vibe and atmosphere.
It's classy and VIP.
We went to Diamond Sky Bar.
I also have a vlog there.
Just look for it on my YouTube channel.
The most expensive drinks are 500 pesos.
For a night out, it's 1,127 pesos.
Now, for coffee hopping.
One of the things you can do in Vietnam or should do in Vietnam is coffee hopping.
Because Vietnam is popular for their coffees.
If I'm not mistaken, I also read it on the internet.
It's the second largest coffee producer in the world.
They started with egg coffee.
I went to hidden cafes.
The aesthetics of the cafes there are beautiful.
The coffees are delicious.
It's cheap.
I also went to a famous ice cream place.
Khem Trang Thien.
My total expense plus that ice cream is 526.7 pesos.
It's super cheap, right?
I tried the original Vietnamese coffee, egg coffee, coconut coffee, salty milk coffee.
It averages 69 to 100 pesos.
The most expensive one I tried there is the yogurt, which is 113 pesos.
It's okay, right?
My gosh, if we go to Starbucks.
Our 526, it's just two cups.
For transportation, our mode of transportation was just Grab.
And guys, this is the cheapest Grab in the world.
Just kidding.
This is the cheapest Grab I've ever driven.
Because within Hanoi, the standard rate is around 70 to 75 pesos.
It doesn't change that much within Hanoi.
So for Grab, I drove around 5 Grabs.
So the total that we spent for Grab is 495 pesos.
Actually, it's 494.5 pesos.
So the 4 rides here, we're divided into 4.
And the other one is solo.
Because there was a time when I was alone.
So now guys, our total expenses in Vietnam is around 15,732 pesos.
The ones that I got there, I already booked them.
I can already book them before the trip.
I waited for the sale of the flights so that I can get a cheap flight ticket.
So when you go to Vietnam, just save money, okay?
You'll only spend a little.
You can also do activities outside Hanoi.
So this is the Ninh Binh experience, Ninh Binh province adventure.
So this was sponsored by Kluk.
So it's at 1,856 pesos if you buy from Kluk.
And for the SIM card, I was sponsored by Big Travel Store.
Thank you so much.
I didn't include in the ones that I mentioned earlier, the greetings.
Because I recognize that other people are kind of post-budget, right?
That they choose to just spend their money on food.
Or save their money for the next travel.
But for me, I bought a greeting.
So it's worth.
The total is at 874 pesos.
So it includes the display, frame, and artwork.
And of course, the ref magnets.
The ref magnets there are at 250 pesos.
So it's already 8.
Those are my expenses for my 5 days and 5 nights of Vietnam travel.
Vietnam is really a country that I want to go back to.
The charm, the ancient charm.
The old town charm of Hanoi.
I super love it.
So if you plan to travel abroad, you can try Vietnam.
Here, you won't spend a lot.
Versus what you'll spend in Japan or Singapore, for example.
The links to the Kluk activities are below.
And the hotel as well.
I'll also comment it below.
And the promo code.
So you can save on what you'll book online.
So thank you so much, guys, for watching.
This is Dave, the Kulipot Traveler.
I hope we'll be able to visit more countries.
I hope you'll also be able to visit the countries you're dreaming of.
And guys, let's live our best life.
Bye-bye!
