She finally did it! | sleep training, sitting up, first holiday

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Anytime I put Linda down for a nap, I'm like, all right, I don't know how much time I have. Recently, since I've been doing the sleep training thing, which by the way, has been working wonders. It's literally insane how well it works. And we've been doing that and it has been awesome. So normally in the morning, she's been giving me two hours to get things done, which has been like literally a game changer. Anytime I put her down to sleep, I'm like, okay, I think I have two hours, but it could be less. But yeah, as of recently, it's been about two hours. And so I have a lot to get done this morning. Our house is an absolute disaster. We've been out of town so much and then we have family in town. So like, I obviously don't want to be cleaning, like doing the deep cleaning stuff when people are here, you know what I mean? So I have a lot of stuff to do while Linda is asleep for her two hours. But right now I'm just focusing on getting ready. I want to go to like a mall today or something. I really want new shorts because it is so hot and I only have one pair of shorts. So I'll probably do that. But yeah, like I was saying, I'm like racing against time, hoping she doesn't wake up. Like I hope I can at least get something done while she's still asleep. She hasn't been asleep very long. So I should have at least another hour. That's a little update for right now. Trying to rush to get ready. But yeah, the sleep training thing, holy crap, it has been amazing. The first night, like I was saying, I think I vlogged the first night. I did actually. The first night I vlogged, it's in our last video. That night was like kind of sad because she cried for a little bit, but then it just got better from there. And now she like literally, we were playing out in the living room with her toys and she like leaned over to try to fall asleep. I'm like, okay, let's go put you down to sleep before you fall asleep on your play mat. It's been going really good. And I've been very happy because it was rough on my mom heart. That last time I talked to you guys, it was definitely difficult. So anyway, I'm gonna hurry and continue getting ready really fast. And then I'll talk to you guys when I'm done. Okay, I'm ready for the day. I feel like my hair looks absolutely insane today. It's like so frizzy. I put it in a weird bun last night. It's not looking like the best, but that's okay. Lena has been sleeping for 55 minutes. Just before I finished doing my makeup, I was like, oh, she probably only has an hour left. Now she has like an hour left. But yeah, I'm gonna hurry and clean the things. Our bathroom needs to be cleaned so bad. I need to do a lot of laundry and dishes and all that. So let's start doing that. What the? Did you put those towels down? Yeah. You did? I was just about to come do that. Voila. Thank you so much. I think Lena's starting to wake up. So maybe I only have a couple of minutes to actually clean. That sleep course we've been taking, normally they wake up at like an hour, like just to kind of check their surroundings and then they'll fall back asleep. So I'm hoping that's what she's doing right now. But who knows, she might actually wake up. Okay, before I actually get into cleaning, I wanna thank Blueland for sponsoring today's video. There's those, they smell so good. So you just put that in your toilet, let it kind of dissolve a little bit and then obviously scrub the toilet a little bit. Here is the dishwasher tablets. So you just throw one of these in there. I love that these don't have the plastic on them. So this is the dishwasher tablet. They are unscented, which I do like for dishwasher stuff. So anyway, there's that. And then last but not least is their laundry detergent tablets, which are so nice too. This is what they look like. You could throw in one or two, depending on how large your load is. These are also unscented too, but I like that these have no harmful ingredients. It's so nice. So anyway, there's those. Yeah, while I'm cleaning, you'll see me using these products and I seriously love them so, so much. So not only are they effective, but they are affordable. I've done a load of laundry before Lana went to sleep, so now we have a ton of laundry to fold, and I still gotta put another load in. This is one thing I hate being behind on, because I procrastinate it even more, knowing how much I'm gonna have to fold. So I was just doing some work for Oris, he made a really cool graphic, and then we're about to go run some errands, which will be really fun. Lana got her outfit on for the day, her little bow, so cute, so cute. Do you see yourself? So cute. We're at the mall, and the last time we came here, she was so tiny, she had to have been like, maybe a month old. We're going into Boehm first, to hopefully find some shorts. Too big. Well, I had no luck at the stores, unfortunately, either the, was that the guy in the mall just barely? That boy was just in the mall. What the? I told you that thing was more than a motorized car, that was a motorcycle. What in the heck? Gramps was just rolling through the mall on a motorized car, and now he's full on down the street in the middle of the road. Way far. That was hilarious. Oh my gosh. That thing's got a V6 engine on it. That is so funny. Anyway, so I did not find shorts, that was the main thing I went in there for, they were either too long or too short, I just did not like how they were fitting me, so. Donald just took me to my very favorite place, Swig. What a nice husband, he just knows. I don't get much of a choice. Whatever. I don't, I sleep on the couch. That's not true, you did that just because you were nice, I didn't say one thing about going to Swig first. That's true, I've been trained well, let's say. He is, he's trained well. We also got their pretzels there, and these are so good, I don't know if you guys have had them before. They have cheese or strawberry cream cheese, and I get the strawberry cream cheese, it's kind of weird, but I think it's good. I'll let you guys know how they are. Donald doesn't want any today. Boring. I just don't want, it's like 106 degrees, I don't want like super hot food. Is anyone else like that? He is definitely like that, I'm not. Like when you come home from a cold, snowy day, you want something warm. You come home from a hot day, I want to pour milk all over my body. Yeah. Not hot soup. I'm absolutely opposite, because I could have soup today if I wanted to. If we had any at home, I could probably have that, and I had hot chocolate this morning while I got ready. Also, no, I'm not buckled, I was in the back with Lenna for a second, while we were in the drive-thru. Got little Miss sitting up on her own. What the heck? I'm ready for my birthday cake. Yeah, I need to show what we just got. In the form of milk. Hi. One of my favorite things to do with Lenna every single month is do like a little celebration. So she's five months right now, and we're gonna do this little candle with a cake. Let me show you the cake we got. This is the cake we got. We got a carrot cake, and Dallas put me on carrot cake. I actually really like it, and I would have never thought that. It's so good. So anyways, we sing happy birthday to her in video every month, and we'll do that until she's one years old, and then put it all in like one video. I think it's gonna be so cute. We're about to do that right now. That'll be so adorable. Well, we just sang to her, and she tried to grab the cake. Didn't you? Yes, you did. Anyway, I'm eating my little, my half of it, Dal. What? Why are you doing that? I don't want that. It's too sugary. More sugar for me, I guess. To be honest, I said I didn't like carrot cake before, but I hadn't really tried it until Dal made me try it, and I actually really like it. I've learned that a lot about myself. So I'll say I don't like something, but really it's because I haven't tried it, and it sounds not very yummy. But then I do, and I'm like, okay, it's good. So anyway, I do like carrot cake. The amount of things that we got Mary, she said she didn't like. She didn't like hamburgers. She didn't like anything with ground beef. She didn't like carrot cake. You didn't like? No, it's my favorite. What else did you not like? A lot of things. I don't really remember. Lasagna. She didn't like basically anything. Now my taste buds have. She liked bean and cheese burritos. Yeah, that's true. And chips and salsa. If it had meat in it, she probably wasn't gonna eat it. If it had chicken in it, I like chicken. Or pork. We have been running around everywhere today. I feel like we have been gone all day long, but I just got Lena down for a nap. Dal is doing something that I can't talk about quite yet, which is like so annoying, but that will be coming soon. So stay tuned for that. We have some exciting news happening. Maybe we can talk about it a little bit in this video. I don't know. TBD, I'll let you know. But Dal's off doing something right now and I'm home. I'm gonna clean a little bit before he gets home and then he's gonna pick us up dinner from Aubergine, which is literally one of my favorite places. We don't have very many groceries right now. So we're just doing a quick little dinner tonight and then Dal's gonna go on the jet ski with my cousin's husband, which is his best friend since like first grade. So crazy. Anyway, yeah, I have a lot to get done before Dal gets home. So my goal is to have the house cleaned before he gets home so that we can like enjoy each other's company and just like chill when he gets back and we can eat dinner together. And then he'll leave again. A really chill night here, but tomorrow is gonna be so, so fun. Okay, you might've been able to tell yesterday, I was a little hesitant to vlog today. It is the 4th of July and you'll obviously be seeing this at the 4th of July. But it's Lena's first 4th of July and like her first experiences. So we use these videos as like home videos. And so I'm like, I might as well just film it and take you guys along. It'll be really fun. So anyways, we're going to a parade this morning. Your first parade. She has no idea what to expect. So it'll be fun. I'm not sure how much she's gonna actually enjoy it cause she's so young, but we're starting the traditions now. Anyway, let's head out. I'll have to show you her 4th of July outfit because she has the cutest shorts on. They're so adorable. By the way, literally the weirdest thing happened. I fed her and then I stood her up and poop didn't even like really go on her diaper. It went all on my outfit. So I had to change my outfit this morning. It went all over our bedding. I literally cannot. It didn't go on her outfit. I don't get it. Anyway, I was a little bit mad about that, but we're about to head out. I don't know what dog's doing. So I'm gonna have to go find him. Here we go. ♪♪♪ I've lost America. Hey. Hi. Goofy, goofy girl. Smile, smile, smile. Well, we're home from the parade. It was so much fun. Now, little miss Lena is gonna go down for a nap and then we'll go do more 4th of July stuff. Apparently, Dal signed up for a hot dog eating contest. So I'm gonna see how that's gonna go. And hopefully we're not out too long because it is kind of warm today. So we're mostly doing stuff this morning and then tonight. Then we might go swimming in a little bit. So that'll be fun too. All right, I got a little update for you guys. Dal went to the hot dog eating contest. I don't know if he's actually doing it or if he's just watching his friend Dave. So I didn't end up going because Lena is sleeping. She started taking a nap and I was like, oh gosh, I don't wanna wake her up. We're gonna go to a barbecue later. Then it would be like, she probably won't be as happy. Anyway, so Lena's taking a nap while I'm here and I'm making a dessert for today. I'm making a flag. So it's like a sugar cookie cake. And then, oh my gosh, Odin. Of course, Odin starts barking. Please stay asleep, Lena. Of course, that woke up Lena. She's crying now. Maybe she'll fall back asleep. I don't know. Dang it, that's such a bummer since I'm alone. And I'm trying to do this. Odin, dude, really? Odin makes me so angry sometimes. But look, you're worth it. But why do you bark when Lena is sleeping? So annoying. Anyway, this is what the cake is gonna look like. This is what it's looking like now. So I definitely have a lot to do, but hopefully I can hurry and finish this a little bit quickly. Maybe Lena falls back asleep for a second while I can do this. I don't know. I guess we'll see. Let's go wake Lena up. I really thought she was gonna sleep two hours. So close. Hi, baby. Good morning. Did Odin wake you up? Did he wake you up? Hi, baby. Well, we're off to a family barbecue. I did finish that little dessert, and it did not turn out, you guys. I tried a bite of it, and I'm so glad I'm not bringing it. It was definitely a trial run. Yeah, it did not turn out. The cookie part was not good. So anyway, don't sleep in the day. Grab and let us binky, and we gotta go. So thank you so much. Of course. And Lena appreciates that. She's already quieted down even more. I open the door and she goes. Did she actually? That's so cute. All right, we are heading to the lake right now to actually watch some fireworks, which is gonna be so fun. We've been swimming all day, and then now we're heading to the lake, and we're gonna do, I think, maybe a little kayaking and some fishing while we wait for the fireworks to start. So they start at 10. It's 8.30 right now, so it's gonna be fun. And I'm sure Lena's already falling asleep in the car, so hopefully she falls asleep on me easily. Do we have our camp chairs? Here we go. Not making my American honey sit on the dirt. My American honey. That's what he's referring to with my hat. This'll be fun. I'm so excited. I feel like I've done so many outfit changes today. Lena's done an outfit change today. Have you? You've done a couple? I have done some outfit changes. It's the lake and the pool and parade, all that. It's been a lot. It's been a fun day, though. Look at how pretty this drive is to the lake, though. Oh my gosh. This is Lena's new thing, putting her arms on her car seat. It is adorable. Of course, she fell asleep right now. That's so cute. That is so cute. Holy crap, you guys, we are stuck in traffic. We parked at the wrong spot for these fireworks. It is so bad. I don't think we're gonna get out of here. So it's 10.45 right now. I guarantee you, we won't get out of here till 12. Oh yeah, because there's a giant line of cars all the way down the canyon. It is wild. Like, maybe we'll get out of the exit at 12, but we probably won't be home for a while. Should we put our bet on 12? Yeah, at 12. This is crazy. I didn't realize how many people were here. So some people brought boats, and you couldn't dock your boat until the show was completely over. And so I'm like, can you imagine those people trying to get their boat on their trailer, but they can't even move to get their boat on their trailer? Oh yeah, it'd be a nightmare. It would be a nightmare. So unless you were camping here or something, how are you getting from here to there? Like, this truck right here has a boat trailer, but their boat is probably in the water. Yeah. But they're closed in on every side, so I don't know how they're getting their boat off the water. Yeah, they're gonna be on the water for a long time. And there was a fire from the fireworks. They had to stop it early because- Yes. Well, I don't know if they stopped it early, but basically they rushed to this fire that was getting really out of hand. I know, I was like, oh my gosh, this is literally so scary. It took them a minute though. It wasn't completely out when we left, was it? No, it took them a minute. Yeah, I'm like, uh, that's scary. So I'm glad- So with all this traffic and with the fire, maybe they won't do this next year. I know. I'm like so curious to see what they'll do. It was really fun though. If they do do it again next year, I would love to come and make it a tradition, but we'd just do it in a different way. Like maybe stay in our car, leave a little early. So anyway, this is like insane. I need to show you. Okay, can you see that? Look at all those cars. We're way over here. We have to go so far. It's insane. I like, can you believe this? I'd like to give an update and say that we got home at like 1120. We literally thought it was gonna be forever for us to get home, but after a certain point, like we got out of there so easy. And I think like the cops that were there like directing traffic, targeting to a flow of things. So it would go home really, really quick.
