Sculpting Realistic MINECRAFT Diorama |Air Dry Clay

the other day I was hanging out with two
of my biggest fans when Sebastian asked
me my favorite looking gamer YouTuber
well because I'm more of a clay type of
YouTuber but we made a compromise I
promise to sculpt him and his sister a
custom-made Minecraft diorama
I decided to go all out and make
everything from scratch including the
clay for this DIY clay recipe you'll
need a few simple ingredients
I did a more detailed tutorial on this a
few weeks back if you're Keen to have a
go yourself

after a trip to the microwave and a bit
of kneading the dough will be soft and
flexible without sticking to your hands
if it pulls apart like this you've
likely added too much cornstarch instead
it just separates smoothly like a
teardrop
now the clay is ready to be mined into
all the different materials I'll need
for my diorama so I divide it up into
the different portions with acrylic
paint

Contraption from wood to create a little
Cube Factory line
but I didn't account for the softness of
the clay making it impossible to cut the
squares straight away without it all
just sticking to itself
instead I make a second device to square
everything off and then luckily there's
a thing in Minecraft called night time
giving me the perfect excuse to let the
clay dry up a bit and while the air dry
clay does its thing I've made this
little Montage of me sculpting all the
other elements for the diorama

this last part A little but since
daytime has come back around I'm going
to return to my cutting device and this
time it works like a dream
then I use this DIY Gallatin to split my
bars and make some thinner planks for
building a deck and a pier
[Music]
once all my materials have hardened it's
finally time to construct the diorama
I've decided it's going to be a swamp
cottage which I imagine will look a
little bit like this chalk masterpiece
I'm gluing everything together with
super glue but you can also use hot glue
or of course PVA glue as that is
literally what the clay is made of

I'm using planks to construct the dip
and adding some pillars so we can race
the house high above the resin swamp
that will go underneath
[Music]

of course it's not a swamp without oak
trees and Vines so now it's time to
assemble some Greenery
[Music]
and in order to have something to attach
everything onto here's a real piece of
wood that I prepared earlier
I'm sealing it with PVA glue and once
that has dried and gone clear it's ready
for the house to move in or on or
whatever houses do

to keep stiff dry on rainy days
it's time to step up the pace before
nighttime catches up so I'm hot gluing
all my grass and dirt to the base in
preparation for the rest and pour that's
coming up next and which will really
make this swamp come to life

I need to seal the edges and build up a
wall so the resin stays where I want it
I'm building the walls on plastic
packaging which I'm bending to the shape
I want and then hot gluing along the
base
[Music]
the epoxy resin is a two to one ratio
between part a
and Part B
[Music]
I'm also adding a touch of ink to give
the swamp order a slightly dirty look
then I mix the patch together and stir
until the color is mixed evenly
[Music]
I'm pouring the resin high and slow
which helps any small air bubbles to
escape
[Music]
I also decide to add a bit more ink to
the surface and I'm loving how it's
starting to look like algae

[Music]
has cured I could remove my plastic
walls and though there's a little bit of
cleanup needed on the edges this is
going to look amazing when it's finished
I'm making a few details stand out with
a bit of paint and then I'm going to add
an edge wash over the whole building to
tie everything together a bit more
[Music]
after waiting down the house I slept
around a thick acrylic wash before
wiping it all off again on the high
points
[Music]
then I'm adding a few extra Vines to the
house and some more colorful plant
specimens to brighten up the landscape

wait did you notice the boat there yeah
I decided the house needed some
occupants so I went ahead and sculpted a
little boat and a Minecraft boy and a
Minecraft girl to resemble the two tiny
humans that this model is dedicated to
I also decided to cheat a little and
sculpt them in polymer clay so I
wouldn't have to go through another
nighttime cycle for more DIY clay to dry
