Welcome back to Mimi's Organic Eats. My name is Mimi and today we're making one of my favorite recipes,
dill cream cheese spread. So I love this recipe because it's a gourmet homemade cream cheese
spread that only has five ingredients. You probably already have these ingredients in
your pantry and this will elevate your bagel or toast to the next level. And you know that I
love this recipe because it's something that I will fill up my garlic powder spice jar for,
which I just did. And if you know me, then you know I hate filling up my spice jars
more than anything in the world. I'll usually just be like, oh, I'm out of that. Let's just
make something else. But not with this recipe. You only need five ingredients to make this dill
cream cheese spread. The first is going to be organic cream cheese. My favorite is Organic
Valley. It's what I always use. I love the quality of their cream cheese. Just make sure you're using
a high quality organic cream cheese that you like. The second ingredient you're going to need is
dried dill weed. And I use dry in this recipe and not fresh because the dried has more flavor
and it will also last a little bit longer in your fridge if you're using dry. I add a little bit of
garlic powder to this and then a little bit of black pepper and lemon juice to finish it off.
This dill cream cheese spread will elevate your bagels and toast. And it's a delicious spread
for sandwiches and wraps too. So let's make my homemade dill cream cheese spread. Now this recipe
is so easy that you can make it with just a mixing bowl and a spatula, which is what I have today.
But if you like whipped cream cheese spread, then you can totally do this in your stand mixer or
your hand mixer as well. So the first step is going to be to add eight ounces of cream cheese
to your mixing bowl. Now don't throw away your cream cheese container because you can store this
homemade dill cream cheese spread in it as soon as we're done. Next we're going to add two teaspoons
of dried dill weed. Next we're going to add half a teaspoon of garlic powder. And then we're going
to do just a little pinch of black pepper. You can add however much you like, but I like just a
little bit. And then last you're going to add in one tablespoon of lemon juice. And this can be
fresh lemon juice or it can be lemon juice from a bottle. Either one will work. One tablespoon is
going to be about half of a regular sized lemon. Once you have everything in your bowl, you're
just going to mix this together until it's completely combined. Once your cream cheese
is completely combined, then it's ready to use. Make sure to store this homemade dill cream cheese
spread in an airtight container like a Tupperware, or you can just keep the cream cheese jar like I'm
using here and put it back in this as well. My favorite way to enjoy this dill cream cheese spread
is on everything bagels. If you want more organic recipes, be sure to hit that subscribe button and
