Hi everyone, welcome back to the channel.
I've spent countless hours researching job opportunities across Europe.
In previous videos, we've covered jobs in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Ireland.
Today, it's all about Sweden, how to land a job there and relocate directly from your home country,
even if you don't have a job offer yet.
Yes, you heard that right.
It's possible to make this move, and I'll walk you through every detail,
from understanding job opportunities in both technical and non-technical fields
to step-by-step relocation guidance.
This video has everything you need to start your Swedish journey.
So, if living and working in Sweden has been a dream of yours, you're in the right place.
Before we get started, if you're new here, welcome.
And on this channel, I share free, step-by-step guides on how to immigrate to different countries
without needing expensive consultants, agents, or lawyers.
All the information I provide is 100% free.
If you have questions, feel free to drop them in the comments or reach out to me on Telegram,
Instagram, Twitter, or WhatsApp.
Don't forget to subscribe for regular updates on immigration tips.
Let's get started.
Step 1, The Source of Truth
Let's begin with the most important question,
where can you find accurate and trustworthy information about working in Sweden?
Every European country has a public employment service that helps job seekers,
and Sweden's version is called Arbetsförmedlingen, Public Employment Service.
This platform is the official government portal that connects job seekers with employers.
It provides a wealth of information on job vacancies, visa requirements, and other legalities.
But let's be honest, government websites can be a little overwhelming to navigate.
That's why I've done the research for you and broken it all down into easy-to-follow steps in
this video. So, don't worry about deciphering all the legal jargon, I've got you covered.
Step 2, Two Ways to Move to Sweden
There are two primary ways to move to Sweden, and I'll guide you through both.
1. With a job offer
This is the most straightforward method.
1. Find a job
2. Apply online
3. Get shortlisted and interviewed
4. Receive a job offer
5. Apply for a work visa
Sweden, like many European countries, is experiencing labor shortages in several industries.
These high-demand sectors include technology, engineering, healthcare, skilled trades,
and more. The Swedish Migration Agency regularly updates a list of high-demand professions.
I've added the link in the description below.
Heads up, the list is in Swedish, but Google Translate will be your best friend here.
2. Without a job offer, job seeker's visa
This route is ideal if you can't secure a job offer while living in your home country.
The job seeker's visa allows you to move to Sweden first and find a job once you're there.
It's practical and opens up more opportunities, especially if you're confident in your skills.
We'll dive deeper into this visa later in the video, so stay tuned.
Step 3. Best job portals for Sweden
Finding the right job portal is key to a successful job hunt.
With so many options online, it can feel overwhelming to know where to start.
To save you time, here are my top recommendations for finding jobs in Sweden.
1. Arbetsförmedlingen
This is Sweden's official public employment service.
It features over 120,000 job vacancies and has advanced search filters to help
you find roles tailored to your skills and preferences.
2. JURS – European Job Mobility Portal
JURS is a pan-European job portal with millions of job listings across Europe.
It includes over 65,000 job opportunities in Sweden alone.
It's a fantastic resource for English-speaking roles and positions in various industries.
3. Jobsinstockholm.com
This website specializes in English-speaking jobs in Sweden,
covering industries such as sales, marketing, tech, and customer service.
It's user-friendly and makes filtering job searches super easy.
Other noteworthy platforms
LinkedIn – over 10,000 English-speaking jobs are posted here.
CareerJet – a broad search engine for various industries.
Technikjob.se – ideal for tech and engineering roles.
Step 4. Crafting a Winning CV
Your CV is your ticket to landing a job.
To stand out, it must
Be tailored to European standards
Highlight relevant skills and experience
Be optimized for Applicant Tracking Systems – ATS
If you're unsure how to format your CV, don't worry.
I have templates available.
Drop me a comment below, and I'll share them with you.
Step 5. Job Seekers Visa Details
If you're unable to secure a job offer from abroad,
the Job Seekers Visa is an excellent option.
Let's go over the details.
Eligibility Criteria
1. You must have a bachelor's or master's degree.
2. You should have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay,
covering six months' rent, flight costs, and living expenses.
3. You need valid health insurance.
4. Your passport must be valid for your entire stay in Sweden.
Steps to Apply
1. Gather necessary documents, including
A valid passport
Academic certificates
Bank statements
Proof of health insurance
2. Submit your application to the Swedish consulate or embassy.
This visa allows you to stay in Sweden for three months,
with the option to extend up to nine months, while you search for a job.
Top Companies Sponsoring Visas in Sweden
Let's talk about companies actively hiring international talent and offering visa sponsorship.
Here are my top picks.
1. Tink, a leading open banking platform offering roles in tech and finance.
2. Tetra Pak, a global leader in food packaging solutions.
3. Ericsson, a telecom giant headquartered in Stockholm.
4. Spotify, the world's most popular music streaming service.
5. H&M, a retail powerhouse with roles across different fields.
Other notable companies include IKEA, Volvo Cars, Electrolux, and ABB.
Explore their career portals to find opportunities suited to your profile.
Relocating to Sweden may seem daunting, but with the right preparation,
it's entirely achievable.
Whether you're applying directly for a job or taking the job seeker's visa route,
persistence and planning are key.
