The G. Henle Chamber Music Academy, which took place for the first time in Eutin from June 23 to 26, 2024, was created from an initiative by the German Music Life Foundation and the G. Henle publishing house. Under the direction of cellist Jens Peter Maintz, five scholarship holders from the German Music Life Foundation are working on pieces by various composers. Jens Peter Maintz is himself a former scholarship holder of the German Music Life Foundation and now teaches as a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he leads an extremely successful cello class.
The academy in Eutin in June 2024 marked the start of a new format that will take place regularly in the future with the support of G. Henle Verlag. Once a year, as part of the G. Henle Chamber Music Academy, scholarship holders of the German Foundation for Music Life will devote themselves intensively to chamber music under the guidance of an alumnus of the foundation, working together on pieces from different eras for ever new ensembles and then presenting them in a public final concert.
