Took the win in Andorra a couple of races ago.
A fourth last week in Snowshoe. Look at the stats in that qualifier though. Fastest in the tech.
Fastest on the fast bits as well. On a track not dissimilar to Andorra. Andorra was a lot
shorter but it was dry and dusty and loose and fast. Exactly.
Rider with great composure up here. That was perfect off that exit before the drop.
Yeah very composed run that we've seen so far from her. And what you said was so interesting
that you know Andorra she had the mindset to win. Difficult for everyone last week in Snowshoe.
Perhaps backing off but today maybe back again to how you know how she felt before she won in Andorra.
Right exactly. Snowshoe was extremely difficult for all riders especially she won the overall there
so it's very challenging. So 3.01 for Hoffman. Oh 1.6 up then for Valentina Hull.
So Hull does lead here in Mont-Sainte-Anne. Still a long long way to go. Hard on the brakes over
the top of there for her. Gathers it up off the Stevie Smith drop. Let's it run through there
and up over those rocks. But Hull looking good here. We're in the smooth trying to find that
smooth line but Nina was very fast in this straight. And look at the gap on the Virgil
straight over the 55 kilometer mark and safely down that part of the course where we've seen
flat tires today. She's having fun on the track. She's showing some style on the jump so she knows
how she needs to ride to do her best run and that's to ride herself and have a good time and
can see it in her run today. She's not over pushing. Falling back towards Nina Hoffman
and Hoffman the fastest through this key section so a critical part of track for Valentina.
Look to carry good speed out. Hoffman was so clean in there though and Hull does lose around
0.7 so the next split will be talent. Will it be red or green for Valentina Hull?
But with you know Miriam finishing a long way down the order. Cami Belange not starting.
Still going to take away massive points for the overall. Last split then. Here it is.
Which it's gonna be. It's gonna be close. She's up by 2.6. So Hull doing something special there
between split three and four. Not far to go now. She's riding so composed and so strong.
Not as out of control as we usually see her and I think she knows it's a long track and
she just has to ride smooth and consistent and can actually do it with a smooth run.
Some big crashes along the way from Valentina Hull but she wins here in Montanar. Look at the time.
4.56. Three seconds up in the end. Valentina Hull takes her second win of 2022.
And now it's Finn Iles turn to make his bid for glory then. The number one qualifier now on track.
I have a feeling about this run. I don't know. He's just been on fire. The confidence is there.
The mindset is there. Twice second this year. Can he take that first elite world cup win today
here in Canada? Just pushing for it. He's going. The speed is good. Right on the edge of that grip
of that front tire there. Look at that speed coming down through there. Fast through there as well.
Clean on the pedals early on that flat section. It's all gonna count today. So Greenland 234.
What's Finn Iles done? It's grey by 0.27. So Iles delivering what this crowd want here.
Oh unbelievable. It's green in the first two splits. We haven't seen that all afternoon.
He's pushing hard. Straight off the Stevie Smith drop. He's on the edge. He's really going here
isn't he? So fast in the open. Calming it down. This is awesome from Finn Iles. Well it's going
to take a run with full arrest to take the win today. 61.3. Through that speed trap then.
Oh my goodness. What are we witnessing here today?
Into this rock section. 0.5 up now. He's extended. He's throwing everything at this
this afternoon. Greenland the fastest in this key section. He's carrying so much
pace around that high line. He's ridden this track since he was a kid. Yeah.
To win. To get his first win here. Wins the key section. Look at that then. So everything going
as Finn Iles expected it to so far. Unbelievable. When he is a junior. Can he do it as an elite
rider? Perfect across that gap. We haven't seen Finn Iles ride this solid this fast.
And he's doing it when it really counts. What's down is it's chain done. He's up by a second.
Is his chain off? We don't need any more drama here this afternoon.
I hope not. Iles keeping it going down to the line. Listen to the crowd outside the commentary box.
They're on the track. Finn Iles comes down the line and he's rolling to the line.
Takes the win. Look at the time. Finn Iles wins the first Canadian here in Mont-Sainte-Anne
since 2013. Stevie Smith's legacy lives on. What a run from Finn Iles and he didn't have
a chain at the bottom did he? What a run to do it. To get your first win like that after that weekend.
