rests previously on my design rules
after completing their kitchens the Duos
got to work on the final interior space
in their Apartments the lounge now at
the halfway mark our Duos have their
work cut out for them who will impress
the judges and win the challenge in only
a few weeks the winning duo will be
crowned along with the grand prize of
300,000 Rand from capy Tech Plus another
100,000 Rand from capy for the viewers
favorites the reason why we making these
plants are because we want to create
different levels of height in our lounge
and also just like an element where we
can like display our decor and our vases
in our Lounge I don't DIY often but I
love DIY you know DIY it's a nice
exercise having a good Ryobi power tool
always helps especially if it is a
cordless Tool uh you just recharge the
batteries and then you complet all your
DIY projects to finish the plants
they're covering them with these small
white tiles from ctm and mixing into
their progrp grouting from ctm some
Durham color Pro stirring paint color to
match the overall look the DIY bug has
also bitten team fire as Hanna uses her
cordless Ryobi drill to put up their
shelving I think I have found my new
calling drilling drilling drilling is so
thrilling Hannah you're definitely the
butch one in the
team somebody's got to
be
yay kids Wild d
well done She's a Beauty that's
incredible shelf problem
resolved and well worth the stress this
was the first Feast that we bought this
is the first Feast we wanted in our home
so feels really incredible to have it Up
full circle full circle moment yeah to
complement the Caesar Stone smoke Stone
above their fireplace team fire Pops in
at Buco to pick out their perfect paint
color from plascon maybe we look for a
dark very dark gray I feel like that is
charcoal just off enough got a nice feel
to it it does these look good okay cool
let's go get that mix
amazing every good paint needs the base
is this the part where I say we're all
about that base or are you going to
cringe too much I'm going to cringe okay
so I'm not going to say but I'm all
about this transparent base well here we
go with their plason dark Onyx paint and
plascon transparent and base Hannah and
Katon head back to the apartment where
the work
begins we have quite a quite a few
important statement pieces to tackle
today we've got a lot so yeah poor
Hannah like yeah send up c yeah cue the
music meanwhile upstairs at Team Earth
they're in two minds about which color
to paint their fireplace and as with any
good Brothers there's only one solution
to a decision like
this I really like the Heritage like I
feel like we took so much time bro but I
don't know if it's the actual look cuz
the black would be fire bro let's go for
black d okay let's just make the call
now bro rock paper scissors okay if I
win you're going black okay if I win
keeping it as
is ah black bro
we're going
black it's a day of DIY on my design
rules and team fire attempts their next
project with handmade Furniture to
complement their theme we love a really
retro Vibe and I feel like the lounge
has been our chance in the house to show
that so we wanted to create these coffee
tables side tables with these beautiful
ctm tiles that I think we saw our first
trip there yes for these coffee tables
we are so excited that we finally get to
DIY something and it's so
unique so you we've built these boxes
out of plywood or superwood whatever can
hold these tiles and we are now sticking
them trying to get them as straight as
possible and then we're going to graft
it to finish it off at the same time
team water has landed a similar concept
but the question is who did it first Kat
you know what to bit of a mystery to me
speaking of I feel like I know exactly
where this is going just put it all out
on the coffee table please I feel like
I'm seeing some imitation here best and
you know how I feel about imitation some
people say it's the highest form of
flattery I think it's I find it so
offensive I feel like we should just go
have a little just a little conversation
okay I'm not saying that I'm going to
claim tiling we are not the objects and
plants and coffee tables and whatever
but
it's a bit
[Music]
sus hey
swell just a man I'm looking for oh you
guys we're fine remember remember we
used to be friends are we still friends
we're here to find
out I thought she so friends really
we're just in a little mystery solving
mood okay
timelines and receipts timelines and
receipts we are talking about can you
guess the
plint oh the tile plants the tile
plants when and where did you decide
this was long time ago
no okay okay okay was this in your mood
board yes you
can CU it just it seems funny cuz it's
such a niche thing I've got the same one
in my apartment I feel like everyone has
flints though it's like child
BL ours is white yours is like nice and
colorful my house yes but the one in his
house is exactly ex like
this I mean great minds think alike I
guess was go out for lunch and then
discuss this okay I like we're going to
Hash this out next yeah we can hash this
out because maybe both are innocent yeah
you know
okay
really up next Tia searches for the
perfect fabric for their couch and
Scatter cushions plus we learn more
about lighting
[Music]
layouts citech do it all on our app just
like that
[Music]
featuring one of the largest collections
in the world home Fabrics is South
Africa's leading Fabric and wallpaper
distributor and their fiber guard range
is just what team water is looking for
so fiber guard is really a pioneering
product in terms of stain-free
Technology it has integrated stainfree
aspects to the fabric so it's really
made for living made for washing made
for everyday sort of spills and cleaning
and really easy living sort of product
it's inherently stainfree with stain on
stain technology so you can really clean
the same spot over and over again and
it's quite a vast range so it's really
starts at simple velvet all the way
through to recycled outoor quality so
it's vast and we're really really proud
of being the Distributors of it in the
South African
Market hi hello I'm Annie I'm Tia nice
to meet you I'm looking for fabric for
our Lounge we want to wrap our cart in
something that's durable and also our
scatter cushions okay fabulous well
these are great for your sofa and for
your scat cushions they decorate as
Choice by father God and you mentioned
that you're looking at lighter Fabrics
so these are great because they have
inherently stainfree technology sure
that's really impressive yeah this
design you're looking at particular is
called ambient and ambient's fantastic
for your application and it's recycled
sure that's
amazing the fabber god collection is
quite a vast range of product uh so I
think let's narrow it down as you can
see there's quite a bit of product but I
think let's look at the ambient that you
were interested in and then I'll show
you how it works okay so you can pick
your stain it's all the common household
stain so what do you think is going to
be the problem I think red one wa lots
of red
wine well that's a proper stain the
first thing with cleaning the fiber God
stain is Don't panic everything's going
to be okay leave it to me Habibi I'm
just going to clear up all the liquid
and get it off
once the liquid is off then we start
with a little bit of water so water just
really about getting the loosening the
stain if I lifting the stain if I can
call it that as you can see we're going
to need a little bit of soap to get this
one out and with the soap to trick as
less as more so we really just put a
little bit of a soap on with that
microfiber cloth you just do a little
bit of a circular motion just to really
lift that stain out so that's it that's
amazing like it's completely gone and
that's red wine with red wine that would
normally be a lethal stain on any fabric
especially velvet quality and here proof
is in the pudding it's actually cleared
cleaned up beautifully I'll take 20 M of
that
fantastic I'm so excited I'm here at
home Fabrics to fetch the materials for
our curtains in the lounge and the
bedroom can't wait to see it okay so
this is
the motion s for your curtaining
beautiful your block out lining this
looks so much I know well that's a lot
of cury awesome but y it's going to make
a beautiful thank you so quite excited
to see the end results me too I you
carry out I
mean lighting is one of the most
important design aspects to consider in
a space and for more than 25 years
eurolux has been lighting the way for
South African with the latest
Innovations one thing I want to talk
about obviously is lighting which I
think is so overlooked but so impactful
when we talking about interior design
what are some of the principles that we
should maybe be looking out for when it
comes to lighting layout well we look at
layering of lights and the principles
would be accent lighting ambient
lighting as well as task lighting so
ambient lighting is your general
lighting task lighting is for specific
tasks if you're studying or that kind of
thing and then your accent lighting is
highlighting features okay so that makes
sense for our deers because there's a
lot of designs going on here and you
want to really highlight some of the
textures and some of those designs
absolutely and then you've got your
color temperature as well you've got
your warm white your cool white and your
daylight in your bedroom you want a more
cozy light you want a warm white
something to relax you before going to
sleep in your bathroom you actually want
quite a bright light when you're doing
your makeup you want to be able to see
and what's very nice is your dimmable
capabilities that you have nowadays what
I'm noticing in many of the design Duos
Apartments is this magnetic tracking
system I absolutely love it but what
exactly is going on here why you seeing
so much of it is because it is simple it
is easy it is Sleek it's a beautiful
design and it's magnetic which means
that you literally put your fitting in
you can take it out if you want to so
it's so versatile I've got some examples
here for you as well nice right what we
looking at so obviously we've got a
really high powerered spot here this one
over here is 18 Watts okay and it's
dimmable so to create that mood and that
Ambiance this is what you're looking
abely perfect so obviously um just
different designs and you can see here
they just literally click in and click
out you can move them left right there's
so much that you can do the versatility
is amazing and it looks so clean and
neat how exactly does it work though
well as you can see there's magnets here
okay and it's a magnetic track so you
will basically just hold these two in
and clip them in would you like to try
definitely okay all right let's see how
easy this actually is so you're saying
literally anywhere on the track I can
use it now just clip these in and then
there look at that as simple as that and
you can even can I slide it around yes
there we go wow so you can position it
where you wanted to be oh this is
absolutely incredible can I try another
one
absolutely this a nice pment oh this is
beautiful and I can literally see how
these will make such a unique
opportunity to get creative with our
lighting design at home and we can
change it as we go Natasha this is
getting me so excited I can clearly see
why I think all our design Duos are
using this magnetic track and with that
I think the inside of these apartments
have the opportunity to be ambient to be
a mood changer a mood Setter but if
anything else I think just create
beautiful memories and that's thanks
delighting the fabric from home Fabrics
really makes the space feel soft and
warm and welcoming I can see the whole
Vision kind of finally come together
yeah
do you think though should it be lighter
or darker if we stain it we're going to
keep the wood grain if we paint it we're
going to lose the wood grain mhm so I
think definitely we should stain it to
keep the wood grain and paint it on the
inside I think the most important thing
is that this is not linking with that
piece over there which is also a very
big piece of wood so I think if we can
marry the two with the same same wood
stain yes I think that will compliment
each other yes and they can actually
work together in this
space and with that team air take time
out with a cup of Jacob's classic
cappuccino to celebrate the progress
they've made and how far they've come as
a design
Duo
go thank you Amy you're welcome we've
got this cheers cheers
up next the Duos start to furnish their
spaces plus we visit the incredible new
development the rubic in the CBD for
[Music]
inspiration who says no to a
cappuccino Jacobs
vundar do it like this it like it move
it
like this Beast
[Music]
pooke while the dubos rush to finish on
time we visit a beautifully completed
space in the heart of K Town CBD located
in the rubic a new multi-use high-rise
by aband property developers okay
Charles I can clearly see what's going
on your breathtaking views it feels
incredible just being in the space but
talk to me more about this development
to Rubik what's going on you and what's
on offer so we try to create a home in
the sky so you're in the city but you're
over the city your perspective is
entirely different when you're out there
you've got these really big expanses of
glass the all way around kind of just
connects you straight out into the space
the views everything is double glazed
it's very quiet up here and it's a
beautiful place just to come to and
relax riding them part of what's going
on in Cape Town the rubic development
has sort of like this mixed uh sort of
residential your living area what are we
in right now is this just a basic
apartment is this a suite what would you
call it so here we are in a penthouse
it's a lovely corner unit pent housee so
you're looking at the 25th floor all the
way to the 27th floor to Triplex layout
you come into it big expansive open plan
you don't know what to expect but I
think it blows your way when you two
come in yeah literally I'm seeing lion's
head Table Mountain Devil's Peak all in
one sort of AR raay that doesn't happen
very often man absolutely love this man
and I could definitely itely picture
myself entertaining out here I think my
friends would love me after this eh I
think you'll never never be lonely of
year there's always going to be friends
around I think you're can actually
slowly close your door to try and get
some peace and quiet sometimes speaking
of how many units and Pen houses are
there in the Rubik so so the building
itself is quite a low density building
it's again something we've tried to do
different to some other developers we
want to make a space which is is not too
busy although you're in the city so you
got a total of 87 apartments in the
building eight of which are pen houses
so very unique quite Niche there's not a
lot out there gives you something a bit
of a bragging right maybe something
different to everyone else and I've got
three still available for S come let's
go see some bedrooms
l
oh
okay all right we have arrived that's
right here we are with regards to design
obviously this is intentional as well as
the entire design of the building how
did it come about what inspired the
Rubik's design in total we had an
incredible design team dhk very
well-known Architects put a lot of time
into trying to produce something unique
but functional everything is like we
want to do something special but it also
has to work it has to work for the
future it has to look good not only
today but I want people to make a bit of
a legacy building so when people come
and they see this they're quite blown
away for years to
come oh my goodness man it just keeps
getting bitter and bitter this is
phenomenal
so I like to think I said the best
philosophy here you talked about you
like to entertain is this not the
outside entertainment you really want in
your life hey hey and of course I
recognize this lovely Soul Ashley how
you doing hi guys it's good to see you
again you too obviously I'm never going
to complain when I see you cuz you're
bringing excitement and design to the
Forefront but what exactly are you doing
out here I'm just here to do a little
bit of a health check so we had our
products installed here about a year ago
just wanted to see how our color was
performing um in the harsh Sun as as you
can see out here and I don't know you
can take a look and tell me what you
think that's the sample the new piece
and this is the decking board that's
been installed about a year ago it looks
pretty much brand new color difference
Charles you clearly must be happy with
this right a fantastic product we're
really happy with how it's looking and
how it's come out well I can't help but
get excited from the inspiration I'm
seeing out here especially when it comes
to the pergler now I know we
commissioned you to help us with our
design back at our Apartments how's it
going it's going really well we've come
up with a very tool design that's going
to give you both shade so it's going to
work on a functional level but it's also
going to be really aesthetically
pleasing and we're really confident in
the makeup of this product you know
obviously it's an aluminium Extrusion
with a composite capping it's obviously
got that 60% bamboo fiber 40% recycled
plastic element the aluminium obviously
gives it that strength that extra
longevity that it needs um so it will be
able to span across that length of the
pagola we're thinking it's just a
phenomenal design we can't wait for you
guys to have a look at it look if the
private Terrace wasn't enough we've got
this which is awesome I can see so many
people enjoying these spaces but what
exactly is happening AA so here we've
come up to the communal terrce so for
the apartments so from level 18 and up
in the building they can access this
space you got Bri areas you got quiet
seating down there to enjoy the sun look
it's midday on a Monday in Cape Town
it's really not awful to be here is
it back on site Richard Wallace and
Warren espie from Eco oak flooring
admire their completed
installations you must be standing at
like proud parents right now seeing your
product on the floor but talk to me
about CP and papele with Team Earth and
the room that we're in right now are you
happy with what you've seen yes I I
think they've got it spot on when they
came to the showroom they gravitated
straight away towards the Herring bone
they like the clean look and the fact
that you get multiple tones in the
premium grade Oak and especially
heringbone being a feature product for a
feature room like this I think they've
done phenomenally well it gives you
options in design as well because it's
not as busy as the sort of traditional
heing bone you'd SE in the past right
yeah correct I think the size of the
Herring bone the board width the board
length the way that it's fitted I think
people have got a a misconception in
their minds that that Herring bone is
very very busy and sort of takes your
mind away from other aspects of design
but once you see it down it actually
looks amazing and beautiful and seamless
and it really is a very very popular
choice for you can see here you know
they've put a carpet down but you still
get to see the feature of the board
because of the pattern and because I
think of the grade that they've chosen
and the color scheme they've gone Team
Water also chose the Herring bone design
and Z is making sure it looks its best
with his Samsung bespoke jet plus pet
upright Hoover this vacuum cleaner is so
light and it has like AI
technology and it's rechargeable just
feel how light it is yeah that's so
comfortable normally they so heavy yeah
and it sort of like like tells you like
which spots you missed and it has like
that light thing that like shows you
where you vacuuming and then it will
change like the levels when you're like
working on a rug this is like like heavy
and like has more dirts look that SP is
done already this it's feels so good
like you don't like slouch you know cuz
normally vacuum cleaners you end up like
slouching like this and they head to
your bag and then this one you just so
this one's perfect for you you can just
going to make your house yeah you
[Applause]
know cor underneath things well Z gets
to know his new Samsung bspoke Hoover C
heads to the Samsung store in search of
the perfect TV so have you had a look
around yeah man amazing products
everywhere making it very hard for me to
kind of choose what I want we've got
some fantastic technology you've seen
the OLED we've got QED which is our
higher end and then top end is our Neo
QED where do I start where do I go you
know what space are you going to use it
for it's like a TV Lounge area going for
a Sleek look right well if you want a
slick look maybe you should consider
something even more different than this
really we've got a TV called the frame
and it hangs on the wall like a painting
it's art when it's off or not television
and and when it's a television it's a q-
television wow it has an integrated
mounting so it hangs on the wall with
absolutely no Gap so it has that sinless
flush not entirely flush and it's got a
matte display in front it's got
paper-like technology so that when it's
displaying art and it can be any art
it's got a built-in art store it's the
only way to display digital art properly
and also that's something that's big
right now it's a Modern Trend it's
happening where would you display
digital art if not on a digal screen
right the frame on a frame exactly does
it come with different colors of frame
oh yes you can customize the frame to
your liking so it starts as a basic
black there's a white there's a dark and
a light wood variant so that you can
integrate with any other frame or any
other type of Decor that you've got
that's actually nice so that that that
gives me like room to play with like
what colors are dominating abolutely
just one thing bear in mind because it
hangs on the wall like a painting the
last thing that you want
is a lot of cable right definitely the
frame comes with a another Samsung first
called the one connect box the intention
with that is that instead of having a
lot of ugly cables connecting to the
television itself they've got this box
it sits elsewhere it connects via a
fiber optic cable and that cable cannot
be seen and then onto the one connect
box you connect your gaming console your
thumb drive any other cabling that you
need to do can be done there rather than
directly to the back of the television
so thanks man I think I got exactly what
I want so where do I pay BR there thanks
brother after reflecting on their design
team AAS brought in noyo lmani from
lmani Village a local Furniture supplier
specializing in oversized mirrors
mirrors create light and the illusion of
depth and expanding spaces so when you
have an oversized mirror that really
helps create uninterrupted reflection
and light that bounces off the mirror
should we hang this mirror or is it all
right if we lean it against the wall
it's able to be hung with the hooks at
the back but I find that people like to
lean it against the wall it's more
casual and yeah trendy makes the space
more relaxed and not so curated in a way
yeah
the most challenging thing about this
room has been manufacturing our products
cuz we wanted to include our own custom
pieces into the lounge as a statement of
closing up the story also balancing it
out just making sure that we use our
Stones the right way but yeah like over
in all like we had a plan we stuck to it
and this is what came
out no material goes go to waste as the
teams make use of their Caesar Stone off
cuts and marble from Rudy's Choice
installed by contina all the contestants
were quite excited to utilize their
marble Natural Stone has such uniqueness
and every piece of stone is completely
different so to try and spread it out
across your home firstly it saves Earth
number one number two it brings in the
color palette and texture throughout
your entire home so you have little bits
of this beauty scattered across your
home which ties back into your feature
area which would be your fireplace or
your kitchen or even dining room
table I love how the contestants really
pushed the limits and they thought out
of the box in terms of resizing and
working with the material they actually
had there was almost zero wastage cuz
we've utilized every single piece we
actually needed more Stone cuz we had so
many ideas so yeah almost zero wastage
when it came to our National sence Labs
up next after completing their spaces
the Duos can have a good night's rest
where dreams begin but who will impress
the judges enough to win the
[Music]
challenge it's deadline day for the
lounge Challenge and the Duos are hard
at work putting the finishing touches to
their space Es as the judges arrive to
deliver their
critique
contestants ready or not here we come
let's get
inside well judges this is TI Andy of
course as we know representing team
water and with that I'll give you the
opportunity to talk to us about this
beautiful space you created so with our
space we actually wanted to like carry
through the the FL that we already had
in the kitchen we wanted to keep
everything clean and white to bring in a
bit of depth we sort of like went for
the crown molding with our concept of
water thought of like having like a very
huge visual interest like a very bold
one like on our ceiling very good uh
Conversation Piece as well and it's
quite unconventional that it's in the
ceiling so we wanted to take that bold
step and then just kind of work with a
neutral base around so that that didn't
Clash but we've still complemented the
cold Blues with rust and orangey tones
just to bring some warmth and we've kept
some of our gold with our painting and
there's LED strips around here so that's
actually the lighting in our lounge and
another thing we considered was storage
you know in the living room like
especially like in the modern days like
storage is like sort of like overlooked
it brings in a bit of form then we
taking from the kitchen as well that
nice cappuccino color that was um
supposed to like make the sand the ocean
sand in in our theme so we bringing that
back in again I think it's looking
wonderful Everything feels very
considered can we see your space with
the lights on lights lights what yeah
Paul any thoughts on this yes I love how
the lighting is scattered and it's not
from a central um point which is very on
Trend at the moment creating because you
can up and down your lighting based on
your moods and again it's quite agile I
love the sand um the picking up of the
sand tones clever very gentle gentle no
concept with and it just for a lounge is
very powerful it is very peaceful yeah I
feel very peaceful the key thing I'm
looking for in the lounge is comfort and
I must say you guys have definitely
accomplish that whenever the judges
speak I'm honestly like so nervous I'm
like shaking so I don't even hear what
they actually have to say if someone has
to ask me for what the judge's feedback
is afterwards I'm a blank
so nervous when I I think I have to have
like another meeting with him guys
please hit me
up tell me what's wrong and I will fix
it yeah they right about this being a
conversation piece because my initial
thought was you must be brave to choose
this bra this is it's a very heavy like
almost overpowering pattern but the way
it kind of all comes together through
all the white I think works perfectly I
think I think the one step too far was
the um molding on the walls I don't know
what you think me but I love it it just
doesn't it doesn't we don't have the
style anywhere else I actually think
without it though the walls would feel a
little bit empty but it's always the
balance between too much and too little
and how far you push it yeah actually
almost seems to be their signature if we
draw back to the ctm challenge they had
these frame sort of styles in the wall I
did notice in the kitchen in the
previous Challenge and I almost feel
like it's something that they've kept as
their style signature um and whether
that was intentional or not it is what
it is it's part of the style that got
them to win the challenge right one
thing that's always a bit of a bag bear
for me in a lounge environment is is
there a place for me to put my drinks
when I'm sitting m i see they've done
that perfect touches that make the
difference and the storage I mean that's
a game change in a space like this yeah
[Music]
well next up we've got Han and Keaton
representing team fire and I'd love you
to talk to us about your creation here
what's happening a lot is happening here
welcome everyone um so I'll start off by
saying we really wanted to have the full
fire Spectrum going on we wanted to take
all the boxes of all the colors this is
a one-bedroom apartment so we decided
you know two adults are living here so
this is the adult playroom these could
represent Legos you know we kind of
thought about how a fire like dances and
your eye kind of dances across the room
so imagine like you having like a fond
de night yeah swapping the tables which
we DIY ourselves by the way very proud
yes yes our DIY moments um used every
last piece as far as we could of all our
marble as you can see this is our Caesar
Stone here marble there Marble Marble
Marble yeah it is so playful and there's
something so Charming about being in a
playful space and you can see that it's
so interchangeable and easy it's an easy
living space and and that is wonderful
we have to spend some more time and you
feel it out and uh get some more
discussions going about this room so
we'll see you guys outside
later there's a lot of taste that needs
to be taken into account in this space
cuz I look at this and immediately I
think my grandmother's place this is
like my place
but I I think this space captures their
personalties they so bubbly and they're
so playful and they're so light and you
feel that the moment you walk in if you
compare to what we've just seen um Team
Water their room feels bigger and I
don't know if it's the palette or just
the placement of everything but it does
feel smaller I think it's the
proportions of things everything's
miniature like a miniature couch
miniature thing like this could have
been a this could have extended this
entire area here the carpet's too small
as I walked in I thought my one thing is
the carpet's too small especially for
these
floors well we have arrived at Team Air
Josh and Amy love what you've done here
but I'm going to give you an opportunity
to explain to our judges what you have
done and why with this living room
challenge this is the first room that
we've freely put our blood sweet and
tears in we've literally we've DIY this
with the help of buo the frame I've did
myself as well um nice so all the
literally all the hard work that Amy and
I put put in here is is what you can see
feels so beautiful thank you thank you
tell us uh and tell us more about these
chairs so that was a a thrift find um
along with this table and the drinks
cabinet just behind your R all thrifted
all
thrifted and we we had my aunt she re up
Holsted those two little chairs and we
did
these two pieces
ourselves wow yeah and then this TV
stand as well we had a leftover piece of
veneered Timber ledge from the bedroom
that we just makeshift a little TV unit
and TI the bottom and yeah it's a really
impressive impressive space it feels big
it
feels elegant it feels elegant got it it
feels but also warm andly so it's not
too too sophisticated that it feels
sterile it feels comfortable yeah it's a
perfect balance of comfort but Elegance
y I agree some of the feedback that we
gave you in a prior challenge was to add
more texture into your space and not
have your entire room looks so
monochromatic and I think you guys have
actually nailed it who've
listened well you clearly have cuz one
of the first things I noticed is I see
that texture in all the little moments
as well the basket um under the ledge
the little stool your rug brings a
beautiful texture and even you can see
on the fireplace the pain technique
you've done um gives it so much warmth
hearing the judges saying that it's so
comfortable walking in it's so warm it's
it's it's you know it's like a it's like
a cocoon almost you know getting that
response from Belle and Megan and was
really really really you know giving us
that hope can't believe how big it is
it's the same dimensions as all the
others but it's big and it just feels
comfortable without feeling too precious
I don't feel precious in the space and
and I like that in a space I enjoyed
walking in yeah and getting that feeling
of I can kick my shoes off and relax I'm
not in a rush to go into another room
and I would love to just chill out on
this couch and just enjoy the views yeah
up next with only team Earth left of
view the judges have a tough decision to
make who will claim the win for the
lounge challenge stand a chance to win a
weekend away in the winning apartments
with buo dial Star 120 star 62800 HH and
follow the prompts to enter begin with
buo whether you're looking for a lock up
and go or a settle down and grow an
office for your booming business or a
safe haven we have a space for
you well judges the brothers of course
representing team Earth and here's the
opportunity to showcase your design and
what you've created in the space guys
Welcome to our wonderful space um first
of all to start where your eyes are
starting this is our beautiful fireplace
we had to kind of take off old paint and
apply a new coat so we went with um
matte black to pick up the accents that
we have that you see throughout the
space and then we went with the K out
piece this out piece is called to
conquer self we are on a journey of
Discovery as interior designers yeah so
we took this canvas with pride we took
this canvas with the theme and we tried
to n it as much as we can be consistent
with the material Choice certain
Aesthetics like the curves and here we
are we have this baby here this coffee
table it's called called the nuga range
our story has always been um centered
around our mother so this is a piece to
celebrate her yeah in this way speaks
supplement and it's a gift from us for
the world to experience and we hope you
guys love it I love it I I feel like
it's come so far since I last saw the
space and I won't lie I was worried I
told you I was worried about the
different elements but somehow you guys
have brought it together so beautifully
you've toned it down you've made it feel
grounded um which is so appropriate and
I can feel and see the narrative that
you speak about it it really does come
together so well in the space I can
definitely feel the opulence lots of use
of royal colors you know the the
tonality that comes out when you're in
here rich is another you know word we
could use to describe it well boys you
definitely put something special
together and you speak of an experience
so let the judges experience more of
this beautiful space before we go and
make our final decisions boys well done
you can be proud of this
one this is almost like art in itself
and they've brought that in in the
lights and they've also brought it in
there on the stand I think they've done
I honestly think they've done a good job
in terms of color palette in use you
know forget the art forget all the
accessories that are there looking at
the space that hearts come together I
think they've done really well and I
think the space for me is so great for
them as designers because it feels like
their personality it feels like their
energy but it's also not too much it
feels like you or I could be in the
space and enjoy it without it feeling
too personal to them they've got
storage almost seems a little too big I
I am so glad you mentioned it it just
the width of it is because I'm still
trying to figure out how this space
feels tiny bit smaller than some of the
others it could be a 100 shorter yeah I
agree and I also feel there's a missed
opportunity over there um I feel like
that's dead space which could be
utilized so even the couch could
possibly have been extended a little bit
or it could have been um in L shapes um
so I do worry about the utilization of
that space they've done well they've
done very well they've done well I'm
really impressed well judge this is a
tough decision at hand we saw incredible
intentional design we saw impact we saw
connectedness what are you guys thinking
o I know my top two I have a top two a
clear top two I've got a clear top two I
don't have a clear winner oh I think I
agree with you I have a clear winner W
should we go let our deos know
yeah well here we are contestants and
judges once again to the final moments
of our Lounge challenge now it always is
an extra incentive when we talk to you
about what you can win for this
challenge it's not just bragging rights
but officially you'll be winning the
iconic lab light and that's from Anatomy
design and that's going to be going into
your apartment to add so much more value
so yep the stakes are
high deos contestants officially this is
the moment where we announce our
positions and starting with our fourth
place position for the lounge challenge
it goes to team
fire what
fourth is I
mean I don't get it team fire I really
felt the theme in your space I mean you
guys went 100% in however I believe that
you may have gone too much theme being
you versus the theme being fire in the
spatial design if you were to strip out
the furniture if you were to strip out
all the different elements in that space
before that the design of the space
itself was not up to par with what we
saw with the rest of the teams thank
goodness we are not fourth for
once and for our living room challenge
in third place we have
Team
water I mean I mean it's a bit sad I
mean but obviously we have to be proud
um that I mean we proud of our space and
we can't win everything like sometimes
you have to lose yeah I'm trying to be
positive okay I'm trying I'm trying to
keep it together your space was
incredible it was very elegant for you I
think there was a little bit too much
sand there was beautiful warmth but we
missed a little bit of the water element
it didn't have as much flow as we were
hoping to see it didn't have as much
depth in the color blue um without being
too literal it felt a little bit too
clean it just missed a little bit of the
water element for us and with that being
said it obviously means that our top two
teams for this challenge is team air and
team Earth team air when I walked into
your space it was warm and inviting and
it made me want to take off my shoes and
relax I got that sense of comfort and
that sense of welcoming and I want to be
in your space the negatives however in
that regard I'd say there's no storage
space in your Lounge which something to
to be mindful of and perhaps the size of
the chairs works really well but you
could have used that space a little bit
more there's a little bit more you could
add into that space Earth we loved it
felt so grounded and it felt so
thoughtful without being too much and
for us one of the negatives was that
some of your furniture the scale felt a
bit off for example the server under the
TV felt bit wide that could have been
slightly narrower and there was a corner
by the bookshelf that could have had
another layer in but overall I think it
was such a beautiful thoughtful space
judges thank you again this was a tough
one but we have to announce our winner
right now dos your winner for the living
room challenge
is
Team Air
[Applause]
congratulations wow Josh and Amy come
with the hour I can't believe it but we
finally claimed a win how are you
feeling about this one
overwhelmed a lot of emotions and I mean
of you two
losses to have a win is like thank you
thank you so much will you to maybe
doubt your abilities with regards to
your design skills up until this point I
mean I think not just our design skills
but you know our team Dynamic we started
to question that and we just keep
pushing and saying we need to work on
our team of dynamic and listen to the
judges that I think we paid good
attention to those comments you've
ticked all the boxes so it's not a it's
not a lucky thing it's not that youve
tried harder you just really succeeded
it's a deserved thing yeah yeah as Belle
said you take so many boxes and you can
see it and you can feel it and you
experience it the moment you enter your
space so you guys can be so proud
because it really is something beautiful
absolutely judges thank you once again
for all the incredible work to our years
you were amazing well done again Josh

magic the morale of team fire is still
like I mean still
