Welcome everyone. You ready?
You game?
I'm game.
And obviously, a neutral site.
Both teams have been excellent at home
and solid on the road.
And it's always interesting what you're looking to do.
It's the style of play that you want.
And you find the veterans.
Dylan Brooks is a number one defender.
All defensive team. Outs Caruso,
all defensive team player.
So, as Alprince Shungun knocks down the first bucket.
Already you just see
the contesting of shots,
the contesting of passes.
Smith the extra pass. Brooks.
And that will go down for Dylan Brooks.
On the run.
Goes reverse. Can't get it to four.
Offensive rebound from Wallace.
Dort gets a clean look.
High. Knocking shot is good.
Near the top of the league. Assisted turnover.
It's going to get you in the set you need to get into.
But I think also, Richard,
that presence in the locker room.
How you go about your business every single day.
Easy to play for. He is a tough coach.
And he said it was made easy because they weren't
winning before he got here.
Van Vliet.
Beautiful move with the left hand.
And I love a tough coach because you know why?
Winning isn't easy. If you want the easy
route, then you can go win 20 games and stay
in the lottery. If you want to win, it's going to take
sacrifice.
Van Vliet guarded by Wiggins. Throws
alley-oop and Thompson throws it down.
So, those
rebounds are going to, you have to
take and rebound.
Inside. Shot is good.
Gilders Alexander did not have a lot of room.
That's his first field goal.
Wiggins, Caruso.
Isaiah Joe.
Henrich Williams passes on that.
Gilders Alexander out there.
Oh, nice adjustment.
The veteran Williams with a bucket.
The team starting off
slowly from outside. A five-point
Rockets lead.
Henrich Williams.
And he comes back and nails it.
Look at this. Back-to-back threes.
We're on a roll.
The two new members of the Thunder, Caruso
or Hartenstein, both are
terrific defensive players.
Meanwhile, a terrific offensive player
is Jalen Williams. Actually, he does it on both
ends.
Jalen Green trying to find some room. Shangun
gets it inside. Thompson
right at Hartenstein.
That looked like a nice pass, Richard.
It was also, I like the pass that led to the
pass. Jalen Green makes
the little drop pass, making smart plays.
Alley-oop and Hartenstein
able to throw it down.
Oh, block shot from
Eason.
Eason drives on Jalen Williams.
Left-handed. When he talked about
working on that pull-up going to the right,
that's just adding another facet to his game.
Eason lines it up and nails
the three-pointer. Eason, eight points.
Those threes start to feel a little bit easier.
The spin. Oh, Jalen Williams,
pretty play right there.
Williams with eight points.
The Rockets look the other way.
Van Vliet back out. Smith
up top. Brooks lines it up
and hits the three. Harlan Brooks
with his second field goal, and O.K.C.
wants a timeout. For this type
of grinded-out game. Rockets are 27th
in the NBA in three-point
percentage. Thompson
right on cue. We get a three-pointer.
Jalen Williams gets
a clean look. Can't get it to fall. Van Vliet
looking to push. Throws it
ahead to Thompson. Thompson up and down
and a foul. Ahmed Thompson
with a chance for a three-point play
on a perfectly executed fast
break.
Brooks tips it,
but Wallace is there, poked away from behind
by Thompson. The quick hands of
Ahmed Thompson, and Green soars
and scores. Over his last ten games,
one night it's 35.
The next night it's 12. Like, he just gotta
find a way to figure it out consistently.
Harkstein floats that in.
You're right, Doris, but... Well, Doris,
to talk about Green, that happens when
you're 22 years old. When you're 21
years old, you're not the most consistent
of players. I was wondering why you were
smiling at me.
Jelari Smith
pumped by Williams.
Shot clock at five.
And then Thompson goes at Harkstein
off one foot. Shot is good.
And then Thompson.
Harkstein
into Dort. By the way, the Rockets
bench.
25 points.
And a foul.
With my guy, Lethal Shooter, and he puts up, what did he put up?
Two of five for the free throw?
We've seen a lot of bad shooting today.
Ives, and comes up with it.
Here's Wallace. Wallace goes
to Changoon and throws it down.
Lou Dort with the hustle play
that he does night in and night out.
And a thunder up by three.
This is their largest lead
of the game.
And now it's tied again as Jabari Smith
hits a three. That can inspire a group.
Just lays out.
That is not comfortable when you
land, Richard. Jalen Green
with a three-pointer.
Finally, we can actually give
Chip England some credit. The great shooting
coach from Oklahoma City.
Jalen Williams with the steal.
And the finish.
The frustration continues.
This guy, one of the
terrific young talents in the league
who's been playing great basketball
as Gildas Alexander
connects. Now he's got
14 points. That makes it a little bit
more difficult. He knows your shifts.
He knows how you stop and start.
It makes the game a little bit more
intense, and Jalen Williams is starting to catch fire.
That's his first three-pointer,
but his sixth field goal.
Van Vliet. Changoon
gets inside.
Jabari Smith with a three-pointer.
And suddenly, a couple of threes
going down. We're all tied up.
Green launches
in and out. Gildas
Alexander down the other end.
Falling away. Shot is good.
And he has come alive.
It's been a struggle most of
the night. Very few players
have good
field goal percentage in this game.
Brooks nails that one. That's his
fourth three-pointer. He's actually four of eight
from three.
Wiggins goes up top. Nice save from
Gildas Alexander. Shot clock winding down.
Stolen. Thompson
flies in and puts it
up and in. I like this line.
Starting to figure it out. Now to get his points.
Kicks it out. Caruso.
The fake. The drive. Nice fade.
Hartenstein. Beautiful bounce
pass from Caruso.
Eason and Thompson.
15 and 12 points off
the bench. And the usual good defense
as Gildas Alexander
backs it home.
The tenacity and competitiveness has been
off the charts. The offense
has been a struggle at times.
There's a beautiful connection there.
Williams to Hartenstein.
So much of the offense runs through
Hartenstein. Isaiah Joe
with the jump shot. Increase the lead with
Shea Gildas out.
Chengu is going to try a three. Normally
not a good three-point shooter but puts it in.
Plenty of time still left
on the shot clock.
Gildas Alexander steps back and rattles
in a three.
Oh, nice crossover. Goes inside.
Out to Williams. Williams a three.
Gets the bounce
and goes through. And the
assist to his teammate.
Chengu.
Hartenstein's made it tough on him all night
but a nice bucket there from Chengu.
Again, you're talking about Oklahoma City.
That is a very difficult task.
Jalen Green
spins. Gets inside. Left-handed.
Gorgeous move there from Jalen Green.
Smith on
Gildas Alexander. Beautiful pass
and Hartenstein with the stuff.
That's six assists
for Gildas Alexander. 17 points
for Hartenstein. Oh, nice move at the
other end for Thompson.
How about that defense inside?
Chengu and a foul.
Took a hit from Dort. Not an
easy thing to do and a chance for a
three-point play.
Van Vliet looking to push.
Van Vliet
tries a three-pointer. Got it!
Boy, it has been a struggle all
for nine. Well, it has struggled
from downtown. Back to eight.
Inside.
Hartenstein! Another
stuff. Brooks playing
with those five fouls. Williams goes
to the rim. Stops double-team.
Stays strong. Kicks it
out. Wallace a three. Bang!
The Thunder showing their mettle
here in the second half. Williams double-team.
Caruso has it.
Kicks it out. Lou Dort lines it up.
Puts it in!
Lou Dort is fifth three-pointer.
And a tremendous second
half by the Thunder.
Thunder advanced.
