Frank, sorry, not much between the two teams for most of that game was there?
No, not much at all. we didn't take them and that's the problem.
We didn't want to go to the goal, we couldn't do anything about it, but we kept going.
good football in parts, some good things we want to see, some things we can improve.
But you know, this game at this level is taking those chances and the second goal is poor from us.
But on pure facts of the game then we should not lose it, we should take our chances and not lose.
You were creating chances throughout the game as well, weren't you?
Yeah, from the beginning and throughout.
And this is a strong team in the league, their position says so.
A strong team, working together for a while, we're working together in a short period.
But there were some good bits and it's important that we take those out in the minute.
It's important we stay positive when it's game, game, game coming up.
But the reality of football is you need to be clinical when you get those chances.
Did you get a key moment across from Van Avert when you had Thorpe and Rodoni there and
They looked sure to score?
Yeah, yeah, exactly, those things, you need to score.
And sometimes in the game it doesn't happen.
But the only way I know to fight through that is to keep working and doing the right things.
Another day we take those chances, we have to believe and be positive about that.
And then things will look better because, as you say, the game was very competitive and
We definitely had the better chances of the game when it went against us.
Do you think there's a little hesitation with chance?
For example, he's got everything but just scoring goals is the kind of thing he's used to.
I've played with many, I've coached with some.
I'm sure of that. I'm confident in Norman.
He's a great player because he does so many good things for us.
He's another one, and he's a good, hungry boy, he wants to do well, so that last bit for him, he's a good kid, he wants to do well.
will be the bit to improve on and I know he is very keen to do that.
I mean, Brandon Thomas,
The sun took him off the bench and that made an impact, didn't it, in that respect?
Yeah, he did, and, you know, with Brandon, I've really liked him in the two weeks we've been here.
And it's hard at the moment because I'm trying to find ways to get players in their best positions.
And sometimes there's a problem there when we're making the subs.
He's a favorite, a favorite position, but he can definitely do a job for the team.
I know he's a quality player and I'm not going to let him get away with it.
You mentioned the second goal, disappointing defending?
You have to hold your hands up to that and be better.
Because at that point, we're playing pretty well and the game's won there.
So you have to stay at that point and you can possibly get back to the
That's obviously a big sucker punch for us at the time.
It's a team where you can't walk across the midfield and back four.
Yeah, we obviously need to be better than that.
So you've had three games now, do you think you've learned a lot about the team?
It's normal that a night like this can come along,
You just have to look at the results every week or everywhere.
The finer details and the clinical nature at both ends of the pitch is important to us.
I've learned a lot, I like the players.
They want to do better, they want to do well for this club.
We are also very pleased to see that the Commission has taken a positive step towards the development of the European transport network.
And that's the message from me tonight.
And eager to bounce back at home, because at home has been a problem this season.
Yeah, of course, but we have to change that problem and take the positives out tonight.
We can improve on the bits we can get better at and make our home with our fans behind us a really
And that's just for us to do.
Because it could have been different, couldn't it?
The tough game, I don't think the score line reflects how the game was.
I think at the end of the day, West Brom took their chances and we didn't take ours.
Yeah, that was frustrating because you created a lot, right?
Yeah, like I said, at the end of the day,
And West Brom took theirs and we didn't take ours.
I feel like the ones we gave up weren't good enough.
But does that give you some kind of enclosure of the fact that you created plenty of chances?
We can always take the positives from the game and learn.
But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter that we create the chances.
And we need to go back and look at that and learn from it.
And we have a game in two days.
We have a chance to go and fix it and we're gonna get it right.
get the CBS rocking again.
I mean, the first one was just bad luck, wasn't it?
Yeah, the first one's a deflection, but still, he's allowed a free shot on the edge of our box.
You don't really want that, especially in... that's a big thing for them, shots on the edge
We looked at that before, and the second goal, I think that's on me personally.
Grant drops in, gets the ball, turns and he just shifts past me too easily.
So, I said that after the game.
I'll look back on it and I'll learn from it and I won't let it happen again.
Yeah, I mean, it's been frustrating this season.
Even when the opposition hasn't really looked that threatening.
Yeah, and I think that's where we are at the moment.
The games are won in each box.
But the games are won and lost in our box and in their box.
And at the moment, we are winning that battle.
And you've had a couple of games alongside Bobby Thomas.
It worked really well against Millwall.
Yeah, of course, I always love playing in the team, I love playing where I'm playing,
Bobby's a great player, good to play alongside.
And yes, obviously, it was a great result against Millwall, but Millwall has been and gone.
We need to go back up that now and start going on a run and collect some points and
Showing that consistency, because that's what gets you up this league.
Three games under Frank Lampard now.
He comes right in and totally changes the mood, which was huge.
Not just the players, but the entire staff in the building.
It's always hard for a manager to come in when the season's kicked off,
Because he wants to get his message across and get his way of playing straight into the boys.
Obviously, we're still learning, but we're going to get better every game.
We work hard every day, and I have no doubt that only good things will come.
And you can learn from someone who has such an illustrious playing career, such a big name.
Yeah, not just playing career, when you look at who he's managed as well,
So he's also worked on the coaching side with top, top,
He's been a manager himself, he's worked with a lot of people, and he's been a good manager.
So yeah, two really,
Really good individuals who can hopefully get us to play really good football, exciting football.
But, yeah, like I said, the biggest thing was the morale boost around the whole training ground.
You're playing for some big managers now with Jamaica as well.
Yeah, I'm a very lucky individual, hopefully I can gather all the knowledge I can and put that
And as you mentioned, Hull at home, you'd be keen to, because you haven't lost a few
Yeah, 100%. we just want to get the ball rolling.
You've seen them show up tonight, they're always in numbers.
We talk about it all the time, we hate to let them down.
We just want to get the CBS rocking on Saturday, 100%.
