Chang and Sadom set the pace with 64s | Rd 1 Highlights | PIF Saudi International

The PIF Saudi International marked the closing event of the Asian Tour and the International Series season here at the Riyadh Golf Club. Defending champion Abraham Ansah holding this putt for birdie at the 13th, a round of 68 for three under par. Five Saudi players took part and Khalid Attia will be particularly happy. This a lovely birdie at the second and a fine round of 67 and four under par. The battle goes on at the top of the International Series rankings of course. John Catton has led for much of the season until he was overtaken last week by Peter Uline. He opened today with a 68 and he's on three under par. Tyrell Hatton was typically interesting to watch. This, the shot of the day at the 15th, holding out for an eagle. A round of 69 for two under and that included a double bogey at the last. Cam Smith was impressive as always. This, his second into the 13th. Didn't drop a shot today, the former Open champion. A 67 for four under. With Catlin shooting a 68, Peter Uline stretched his lead just a little at the top of the rankings. A birdie at the 7th and around a 66, five under par. It was a good day too for Joaquin Neyman. This long putt for a birdie at the 14th. Beautifully hold by the Chilean, a 65 and he's on six under par. The same mark as Jason Kokrak who hold this long one at the 6th. Not a bogey on the card for the American. But two men are top of the leaderboard after the first 18 holes. Weilun Chang who only saved his card with a second-place finish in the Indonesian Masters a few weeks back. Lovely approach into the 15th for the man from Taipei and that all added up to 64, seven under par. Later matched by the in-form Sadom Kaukanjana who finished style with this birdie at the 18th. Chang and Kaukanjana lead at seven under par.
