Plesiosaurus is an ancient marine reptile belonging to the order Plesiosauria. It lived during the Jurassic period, approximately 200 to 145 million years ago. Plesiosaurus had a unique body shape with a long, slender neck, a small head, and a body resembling that of a turtle. "The Surgeon’s Photo" is one of the most famous images believed to depict the Loch Ness Monster, Nessie. Many people have since associated it with Plesiosaurus. The next question we need to ask is whether Loch Ness is a suitable ecosystem for Plesiosaur.
